This is a thread to explain the origin of - you guessed it - your MI6 Community username.

Mine is a rather dull one I'm afraid.

Jake - My first name
24 - Bond 24

At the time it seemed relevant, but going back I would have settled for something a bit more creative.

DaltonCraig - Created in 2007 on the old MI6Forums, I chose Dalton and Craig because I really loved them at the time, and back then I preferred the more down-to-earth outings to Sir Rog's adventures.

As for my avatar - chosen after I discovered Sir Roger as Rufus Excalibur Ffolkes in 'North Sea Hijack' in 2011, and I haven't changed it since.

    BondJasonBond006

    well...ahem... :))

    Jason Stephen Bond
006 because I didn't have the audacity to call myself 007.
    I thought about 008,5 :P

The irony is that I'm actually a commander in the Swiss military :D
I could have chosen the user name CommanderJasonBond :D

    KaijuDirectorOO7...

Kaiju - Literally "strange beast", this refers to Japanese movie monsters, of whom I am proud to say that I'm a very big affectionado.

Director - The fact that I am a movie fan.

OO7 - No need to explain here. It's also my handle at various other sites and forums. Fun fact though - it was originally dinodirector007 (which is my gmail) with two zeroes before I changed them to actual Os.

Mine by way of a fond Tribuite to the late Desmond Llewelyn and rather than take the obvious Q option I picked another of his best performances all be it a small part,
Fitting though as I have the village garage .

The first website I ever posted on was an Airwolf site where I was 'Rarebutafact' referencing dialogue from an ep, next was a Firefly site where I couldn't really think of anything special, so I went simple, me, I'm just chris, is all... and it sorta stuck.

On another JB forum I used Fire_and_ice as my profile name which I joined 13 years ago, made sense to keep the same profile name for here. Fire_and_ice was also a rumoured title for TWINE and also the title of a film Willy Bogna worked on. Fire_and_ice reflects my personality well, also it's obvious Ying and Yang metaphor. Later Fire_and_ice inadvertently became a reference to The Song of Fire and Ice, fitting as one of my interests is Norse Mythology.

    Well , Ellipsis was taken. I like cars, and TND is my favorite movie, so;
    Tomorrow-Never-Dies-BMW-7-Series-E38-4.jpg

It didn't occur to me until later that people would assume my namesake was the Z3 from GE. Maybe what the 750 has would be more accurately described as rockets? Then again, if we're being accurate, I should be @Volvo_with_boredom.

ClarkDevlin - Well, I would've used the space bar to separate the first and last name, but the site's standards wouldn't let it. Clark Devlin is the name of the secret agent in the 2002 Jackie Chan movie, The Tuxedo, played by Jason Isaacs, who is the spitting image of Fleming's depiction of the James Bond character. Clearly a Bond rip-off and nothing else. I am still fascinated by the character so I thought... Why not bapitizing my username in honorary respect to that secret agent?

My second choice was SterlingArcher, based on Sterling Archer from Archer.

Simply borrowed from Arnold's DAD cue "Some Kind of Hero?" which plays when Bond is traded for Zao. Great bit of music there. I wanted my username to be the title of a Bond cue—preferably one of Arnold's—and this one sounded best (probably just beating out White Knight).

I thought at first you might be one of the authors of the Some Kind of Hero book they released last year.

Self explanatory really, couldn't think of anything else and this just sprang to mind while watching TB.

Haha, that would have been some exceptional self-advertising on my part! I will admit, even though the name originally came from a Bond film and not myself, it's an obscure enough reference that I was delightfully surprised to see a new Bond book named after "me." (I've heard it's a great book, too; hoping to unwrap it this Christmas.)

We used to have a member called @hullcityfan before he was banned. I was on good terms with him in fact.

At commander bond I'm Blonde Bond, username inspired not by Craig, but the first blond Bond ; Roger Moore.

When I was introduced with Bond, I only knew Connery and Moore, and obvioysly Moore was the Blonde Bond. I even drew comics starring that Bond. Looked like Lucky Luke with Moore hairdo.

Here, first thing that came to mind, was how people are, or are tried to be fed to sharks. Thing that has been parodied in such things like Austin Powers "I had one simple request to have frikkin' sharks with frikkin' lasers attached to their frikkin' heads!" to the likes of The Simpsons.

So there. I chose to be fishfood.

That was back in the 80's. I'm not sure if any of those comics are left. Have to ask mum, the next time I'm on the phone with her.

We have a lot of the same interests it seems :D

I'm much closer to Sterling's personality and good looks than to Bond's :P
I also don't mind "doing" whatever for the mission :D

Some also argue that Notorious inspired elements of the Casino Royale novel. When I think about it, Ingrid Bergman's character was almost experiencing a similar fate to that of Vesper, even though the official acknowledgment of the character is said to have been inspired by Krystina Skarbek. And of course the Devlin character played by Grant had many traits shared with Fleming's Bond.

Thanks, @Dragonpol. :D The film is in the medium of comedy with typical Jackie Chan humour, and even though Jason Isaacs doesn't have much screen-time in it, he owns every scene he's in that makes the escapist Bond fan like me crave to see him in the role of the actual James Bond in his super-spy mode. It's an entertaining film which I hope you'll enjoy. :)

The Tuxedo is one of my favourite Chan movies. Jennifer Love Hewitt is a favourite of mine. I fell in love with her in 1997 (I Know What You Did Last Summer).
I went through 5 seasons of Ghost Whisperer just for her ;)
