    TWINE for me was too long, (15 mins?) and the boat chase went on and on and on.... (I also cant help laughing at Brossas scowling after the shootout, not to mention Cheerful Charlie Chisloms dodgy accent! (Anybody remember 'Minder'?)
    SF i only like parts of, the motorcycle part was weirdly shot, the best moment was when Bond commandeers the digger, and his leap into the carriage. SP was more exciting for me!

    The SP PTS for me was a bit....mehh. The SF PTS is really like an exciting spy chase from beginning till end. And I love the 'heartbeat' music from Thomas Newman. Reminded me a lot of 'To The Roof' by John Powell ("The Bourne Ultimatum"). The car chase part, the motor cycle part, the train roof part...it all worked! Tremendously. And IMO still the best PTS of the entire Craig era.

    SF's PTS is slightly better than SP's. That said, both are exceptional.

    I just don't like the helicopter fight so much in SP. Having said that the action from the helicopter in FYEO I found much better. Because you actually saw a stuntman hanging on that helicopter. It felt more 'real' to me.

    There were real stuntman hanging onto the helicopter in SP too. I find it a lot more visceral than FYEO.

    Yes, but......the 'observing' camera angles in FYEO to me worked slightly better. It's as if the director took the time in filming Bond's predicament. My rule would be: less shots is perhaps better.

    I am surprised that LALD placed as far down as it did, and that FYEO and MR placed as far up as it did. Other than that, it all looks pretty close to what I'd expect.

    No way....LALD is not a patch on OP or TSWLM...and FYEO is possibly Moore's best performance.

    Its interesting that you pick that sequence from FYEO, as its from the LALD novel, but no one could figure how to do it for the movie!

    I think that TSWLM is the best performance by Moore's standards, but I think that FYEO is his best film (though uneven in it's tone).

    Exactly, 'they' had a chance to do that underwater sequence already as part of LALD. Instead, we got lots of dark skinned clowns dancing around Bond's ass. Don't get me wrong, I love the blaixploitation part of the film. But as a film I think LALD is no match for the colder spy thriller that FYEO is.

    But LALD has some really memorable scenes! Bonds seduction of Solitaire with the Tarot cards, M and Moneypenny at Bonds house ("INsomnia Sir?", "INstructions!"), the Crocodile farm, TeeHee, David Hedison as Felix, the boat chase,Baron Samedi on the train at the climax, the fight on the train with TeeHee (I wish they would bring back that 'henchman turning up again in the final scene!), the theme song, and of course Moore himself who eased into the role effortlessly!

    Funny you don t mention the most iconic scene of all. The alligator stepping stones.

    I find LALD on par with TSWLM, definitely better overall than FYEO and OP. LALD has a terrific soundtrack, great title song (arguably the best in the whole series), a top-notch Bond girl, an intriguing storyline and setting, an iconic crocodile escape, and a pretty good boat chase.

    I won't argue with passion gents, but... really?!?!?!?!?!?!?! I thought Dalton had a striking look as Bond, but his acting bordered on the melodrama and he lacked serious charisma. Intellectually I respected his take on the character, emotionally I didn't buy in.

    And I never got the sense that Fleming's Bond was always angry, whereas Dalton was. Fleming's Bond took pleasure in women, and, while on assignment, wonderful foods (and wines and spirits). He was quite hedonistic in this regard. Just never got anything like that from Dalton.

    In the end, however, I could be absolutely off base, and I should respect your love of the man and his work on this character.

    TLD and SF surely have to be 6 and 5 right? Can't imagine that OHMSS, FRWL, GF, or CR fall out of the top 4.

    Dalton Bond wasn't always angry, but he did occasionally get frustrated with Kara. And for the literary Bond taking pleasure in women, so did Dalton's Bond. Dalton's Bond slept with two women per film, which is twice as much, on average, as the literary Bond.

    Now a top 6 placing guaranteed for TLD. :D

    My prediction for #1, is either FRWL or OHMSS, with GF rounding out the top 3.

    I'm happy for TLD because I like Dalton. But it's the wrong Dalton film in the top 6.

    Just watched Goldfinger tonight as part of this years re-watch of the films and will be interesting to see where the last of the 'fantastical' Bond films finish.

    It's certainly currently looking like the Fleming holy trinity of FRWL/OHMSS/CR might make up the top three.
