I will watch FRWL shortly and then possibly another one. Feels like a Bond day today, already read a good portion of VARGR (second reading) and also started Chapter 1 of Casino Royale the novel.

The fights great but then we're treated to Connery in a silly helmet and an even sillier jet-pack!

And have you noticed when the Aston fires the water cannons, the goons move INTO the spray of the jets!

Well a jet-pack makes more sense than a stupid duck on his head in GF eh ? ;)

I've read on here people's negative reaction to the Shrublands scenes, but i think they are brilliant..something about the atmosphere, and Bond being shown sleuthing in his own country for the 1st time...

Also Bond on 'the rack' when he can do nothing but scream for help, once Count Lippe put the speed up,just shows to the viewer that Bond is a vulnerable man..

The Shrublands scenes are good, and more or less verbatim from the novel.

Woman : "what was that ?"...Bond: "I don't know, could it be the front door bell ?"....i always piss myself when Bond says that while patting her hand...

Agreed.....im looking forward to Bond's conversations with Largo and Fiona later, they are brilliant dialogue, superbly played....Spectre are just retrieving the bombs from one of my country's beloved and now not operating at all anymore ,even in air shows (too much to maintain !) Vulcans...

DAF is even better in the dialogue department but yes TB comes a close second.

I will go along with that...concurred BJB...

Now this is something in a lifetime of watching TB i havent noticed before..when Bond walks into the conference room there are 9 chairs and #7 is empty...i knew he walked in and sat down but now you can identify the 00's at the time as the chairs are in order from 001-009.....

If by dialogue you mean naff one liners then DAF certainly wins....

"Go blow up your pants!" was a real winner...

I prefer humour over smart. Probably because it reflects my personality.

The look Bond gives when he sees Fiona's ring as she is driving screams of : ' FFS give me a break !!'...

I still think Rik Van Nutter was the best Felix and should have been developed....Bond is about to infiltrate Palmyra to try to save Paula....i had a long phone call so im a bit behind grrrrrrr

He does and i think if he had another 1 or 2 films and a more prominent role, with a fight scene he would have made it....annoying..

I love this bit,in the Kiss Kiss club where Bond's 'wife' gets shot..but its good to see the panic on Bond's face knowing Spectre has him surrounded...
haha ..he is just about to tell Domino about her brother and stick one in Vargas on the beach with a harpoon..

    She's just dead.

Yes, that's one for the history books.

Here come the US navy divers....you made your (sea)bed Spectre, you lie in it...time for the US to kick some Spectre butt...with 1 Brit of course...
  • edited October 2016 Posts: 19,339
True ,i didnt think of that.

This underwater battle is quite a nasty free-for-all...and i love the 'James Bond theme' being used throughout....missed since MR.....ooh shit here come the sharks....
Hahaha its great just before the US wins, the Spectre agent and the US navy soldier both fire a harpoon on an approaching shark, and the way Largo and Bond face up - Largo with a large sea knife and bond with an empty harpoon.

All this TLD talk...watering my mouth.

So it's in my Blu-ray player now. I'm doing a double feature TLD/LTK.
    FRWL tomorrow then.

    @barryt007
I could make a comment about TLD every other minute or so if you like... :P

And that is the end of TB....

AAh BJB just turn that thing off once Afghanistan arrives and mute Kara and her stupid grin....i just hope it will come 10th,or is it 9th ? (not deserved) on the thingy thread....anyway,one more Bond or not ? i have lots to watch but it is Bond...hmmmm

OK...AVTAK now on...this to me is always a sneak look at 007's last mission before he retires...

Oh THAT PTS. Just the best.
Barry's score is bloody fantastic. Also having not one, not two but THREE Bond themes in one movie is simply great.
a-ha really provided one of the great songs to the series, and the band was probably the hugest act in 1987 in Europe besides the Pet Shop Boys.
Saunders, I love Saunders. One of my favourite side-characters. The interaction between him and Bond is a pleasure to watch.
And of course the incomparable Georgi.

DALTON RULEZ™ and 25 minutes of film are enough to convince me once more that he is THE Bond. Neither Laz, Moore, Brosnan or Craig come even close.

I love the bit just now where Zorin finds out about Bond and is chuckling as he goes through the results with Bond sitting there..
Saunders is indeed a shining light in that film ..
