    I watched QOS yesterday, and on my TV I find that if I turn the volume up to a satisfactory level that it is then far too loud for the action scenes. Do you find that a sound bar or surround system solves this sort of issue?

    Action set pieces tend to be louder, sometimes really OTT, but with a good system you can make out everything, and the sub-woofer adds that 'rumble'. I was watching Transporter 3 (not a great film) but there is a bit in there where JS drives a car through a wall…and it actually sounded like some had driven through our lounge wall. Also music scores are enhanced and really soar.

    :)) it's never occurred to me before, but the scene in the bar when kamal hires them he slices up bonds photo then just catches it!
    On a seperate note I'm looking forward to 007 putting the alfa gtv6 through its paces in a bit :D

    :D yes, it's not a long car chase, but there's some great Driving in that sequence. I
    Especially like the two Police cars ending up nose to nose, so one has to do a quick
    "J" turn.

    Finished Moore's first decade as Bond with Moonraker this evening. I have to admit, MR is one of the films that finds itself towards the bottom of my list, as it will after this viewing as well. The first half is quite okay in the pre-titles and California scenes, but from Venice and out it just keeps getting more and more silly, reaching series high with that space battle. The sets are good though, and Italy have always worked well with Bond.

    Will try to follow with FYEO tomorrow, which happen to be one of my favourites!

    Watched For Your Eyes Only last night. I've always liked FYEO, and wasn't disappointed this time either. Moore gives us his best performance, balancing the silly scenes with Bibi, and the car scene with Locque. The score is OK, but the disco element get more annoying with every viewing. Still, far from the worst. That doesn't keep me from putting FYEO first on my list of the Moore era. Might continue with OP tonight.

    The Man With The Golden Gun. Didn't dislike it as much as usual! Normally it's in the bottom four for me but this time I didn't mind it at all. Maybe it's because I was tired and wasn't paying attention but I chuckled in places, I accepted three nipples, I accepted JW.

    All in all, surprised myself a bit by not hating it.

    Now we move on to Moonraker uh.....wow this is bad....

    Positives Moore is clearly having fun. The fight with Chang was cool some of the one liners are nice. The MI6 regulars are good the locations and set designs are nice. The second boat chase is good. Nice seeing the 007 theme return. Overall it's a bad film and the worst in the office series. I would almost rank the 1954 casino Royale to bet bluntly honest.

    Just finished Octopussy. Although not as good as FYEO, OP is one of Moore's (and the series) most entertaining efforts. There's a lot going on in this one, and it doesn't waste time setting Moore up in different situations, from the very dangerous to the very silly (Tarzan yell in the chase scene, and the gorilla outfit on the train).

    With OP, we also get several memorable villains, the calculated Kamal Kahn, and his no nonsense henchman Gobinda, the knife throwing twins and the very intense General Orlov. Really, the only thing keeping this one from being my favorite Moore era film, is the over the top funny parts. Other than that, OP remains high on my Bond film ranking.

    Also, on a side note: with all the elements they managed to put into OP's 131 minutes, it really make me believe that Bond films around two hours are preferable to the lengths of SF and SP, which I feel are a bit too long.

    To get the taste of Moonraker out of my heads I figured I would relax Sunday afternoon with one of my favorites Quantum of solace... And wow is it brilliant.

    The pace is super quick, Daniel is perfect and just super casual the film is just amazing and the perfect sequel to Casino Royale

    I had planned on watching some classic Rogering in OP, but the various discussions on Brosnan made me want to see some classic badassery from him, so I double billed...

    GE and TND.

    Man, these films never get old. If anything they get better with age. Brosnan is the king of cool, he has so many awesome moments (wiping his face with the towel after throwing the goon in the stairs, twitching his head while bullets fly by him, 'filthy habbit', calmly drinking vodka in his hotel room, fixing his tie after the tank chase...). Natalya is still my favorite Bond girl, her sexyness is off the charts. I really love both climaxes (proper fight between Alec and Bond, and a more bombastic one aboard the stealth boat with Arnold shoving his epic rendition of the Bond theme every 90 seconds). 4 hours of pure escapism, I never see the time fly by.

    I loved your review so much that im gonna watch tomorrow never dies tonight. Its gonna complete my hotties double feature.
    I watched legend of Tarzan in theaters which i loved and now continue with Pierce in Tomorrow never dies.

    I'm watching my least watched Bond films. Last week I was pleasantly surprised by Moore's performance in TMWTGG

    DAF was this week and I'm pretty sure it's the worst of the lot. It really is a chore to sit through. And it all looks so cheap and nasty.

    As promised to @Benny last weekend...

    FYEO and OP.

    Roger Moore is such a legend. I love him. Whether his younger tough self (LALD/TMWTGG), his unflappable self (TSWLM/MR) or his older world-weary self (FYEO/OP/AVTAK), the guy is an absolute joy to watch for 2 hours. His romantic affairs with Melina and Octopussy are fantastic. You really believe Sir Rog cares for these young ladies, and will do anything to protect them.. in return for some Rogering after the mission is complete, of course! I really love both soundtracks (the cue from Conti when Bond retakes control of the helicopter, the 'Submarine' track, and his action music during the car chase and ski chase really elevates the fun. And talking about these - the car chase and ski chase in FYEO are so entertaining! The 2 films are very, very well paced (always shocked when I reach the fantastic attack of the docks in FYEO, as there's only 30 minutes left), and OP really flies by (always sad to leave India, but then I realize the nail-bitting bomb chase is about to start!). I will never get tired of Bond missions with Sir Rog. John Glen is an expert at action scenes, there's not one of these sequences in his 5 films that fail to entertain me.

    Yesterday GoldenEye was on the tele. Loved every second of it. Got a bit nostalgic too.

    Maybe the ultimate Moore Bond double feature, @DaltonCraig007, and couldn't agree more with this review! Two of Rog's best performances in two very memorable films. One thing struck me while watching FYEO last week: The romance between Bond and the much younger Melina was solved in a much better and more convincing way than that between Bond and the also younger Swann in SP. Really wish they could have written that in a better way.
