Well it been going on project. But the movie has not been made yet. The TV series great & brilliant of Character who not much of Spy but has a little Indania Jones & bit like the Saint. He hates gun never use or carry. He's environmentalist. He fight crime his own way. He does use gadget a bit but use thing in mind to escape. Played By Richard Dean Anderson Who has character in him. His Boss is Pete Thornton also a friend. His arc Enemy is Murdoch who dies but his body never found come back to life & dies again. For the movie I only think of Christian Bale. Richard Dean Anderson can the Boss Peter Thornton or uncredited role.

If Christian Bale play this role he have to look a bit more humour. I remember Teri Hatcher before her Lois Lane role & TND. Came a few episode with the same character can't remember what her role name was Licence to KillAnthony Starke & From Russia with Love& General Gogol Walter Gotell play defector & good guy in couple of Episodes.

2 years a go i bought the complete series include the 2 movies for € 99,00. I started past weak for my second view of season 5. My first view whas somewhere in 1997. I never saw it in the original time, but the channel start repeating it in 1992 when it original end it. Since that repeat end in 1999 there never repeat it on tv.

What be so funny is that i see some grow in time with in between watched Quantum Leap. In Leap you can see the kid from 902010 and the girl from back to the future 2. I also watched in between The Incredible Hulk. From those 2 i also own the complete series. Walter Gotell also get a part in Airwolf twice. Atleast, because i must stil see Season 3 (not own yet) and 4. Sliders also be on my wishlist.

For a new Macgyver movie Dean Anderson should return and take over that goverment years a go. There should write a scene where Macgyver visit Pete Thornton grave, the actor don't live any more and best thing to is to let this chacter not return. Macgyver having now a prive life with a son and no wife. This son can be played by Nathan Fillion from Castle. Nathan Fillion is from 1971, Anderson from 1950.

Well it on again. TV series reboot. It would good if Richard Dean Anderson might come back as Pete Thornton which played by late Dana Elcar who his Boss & Friend or uncredited role. Well it will be great.

Lucas Till wil play Macgyver and the chacter wil be in his 20's.

Lucas Till stars in "MacGyver" which follows the twenty-something detective as he creates a clandestine organization to prevent disasters. George Eads is also onboard as a government employee with a love of eccentric conspiracies.

Lucas Till (26 in August) http://www.imdb.com/name/nm1395771/ Examples of movies you can see earlier are X-men First Class, Stoker and World Invasion: Battle Los Angeles.

I have 4 attempted threads on this subject on this site that no one responded too..... But yeah I am super happy Macgyver is back!

To be honest while many are upset on the hiatus 007 is having A) at least it isn't as bad as macgyver fans which even if we count the excellent comic book series from 2012 we still have a 4 year wait...

    B) the fact it's coming back this fall has made me almost to busy to notice the delay with bond 25

While many scoff at the original my hope is that the reboot will be basically a Casino Royale for the character so people will realize how truly great the character is... Again a spy who is smart tough and tactical who doesn't use guns or gadgets but his wits and knowledge of science and mechanic to win.... That is freaked cool.

I loved MacGyver, and seeing it being rebooted doesn't sit well with me, but I'll give this show a try if it can capture what the original had. Someone above mentioned having RDA come back as Pete Thornton wouldn't really work as it would make no sense (to me at least).

Recently rewatched Macgyver, that show was all RDA and his personality. Much the same with Stargate, without RDA just was not the same.

Agreed He must make appearance. I find him in facebook to considered a part in new MacGyver TV series or Movie version

^Yes, I wouldn't mind seeing an appearance from him, just not as Pete Thornton. However, I would also like to see appearances from either Bruce McGill (Jack) or Michael Des Barres (Murdock). That would be great.

I wish George Eads would have been MacGyver, now THAT would have been cool!

Why do they always think they have to cast boys to renew series/franchises these days. He's 25, the real MacGyver was 35 and had real life experience. That's just wrong and probably will not work.

I predict a huge failure. They failed at every attempt so far to renew classic tv-shows.
Judging from the trailer, the new MacGyver will have a difficult time convincing the old fans to watch this.

Having said all this I'm totally excited, George Eads will rock and maybe save this show. At least there will be one season. Can't wait.

    And I admit I LIKED Charlie's Angels 2011, Knight Rider 2008 and Kojak 2005.

Not all : the 2005 version of Battlestar Galactica was very good.

I was more aiming at classic crime/action shows, but yes, Galactica was kind of successful.
In the soap/drama genre there have been a couple of re-done/continued shows like Beverly Hills and Dallas that lasted for more than two seasons.

My comments... I love the trailer but there are things I dislike so I figure I will split it up in terms of three things, things I love, things I don't like, and things the don't bother me yet everyone else hates for some reason....

    Let's start with what I don't like
    1. The music for the trailer: even the horrible ghostbusters trailer had the classic theme sort of... The lack of good Macgyver music or even generic espionage music kind of bugs me slightly. My hope is with Peter (from Hawaii 5-0) the theme will return similar to Hawaii 5-0

    2. He doesn't introduce himself: a minor complaint but "Hi Name's Macgver" to me is right up there with "I'm Batman" and "My Name's Bond James Bond" not that I want him to constantly introduce himself but like I said its minor but I want to hear Till say the classic line

    3. No mention of his grandfather?: again a minor complaint the line "my father always said every thing I need is right in front of me" bothers me slightly as In the original it was always his grandfather that tought him things now mind you its just the pilot all scenes are from but I hope later on Mac's grandfather is introduced (and maybe even played by Richard Dean Anderson)

Things that don't bother me but every else doesn't like

    1. His hair: shrugs it just doesn't bother me at all I know a lot of people say it's too long but the mullet wasn't going to come back and Mac with really short hair is well odd same with Bond having really long hair.... So for the first season I am fine with it

    2. The bow and arrow: I am siding with Rdolev here. Again I see no difference beteween the bow and arrow and the bomb and vent in both instances it is clear to me at least Mac is trying to stop the bad guys from escaping and well he does a good job of it. Kiwi I am sorry you don't like it and I do hope the rest of the show you and everyone here likes as well come on its new Macgyver lets be happy about this

    3. Friday night time slot: shrugs who cares in this day of TiVo and prerecording television and enjoying it when we want I just don't see Friday night as a death toll as many others do.

    Things I love

    1. Lucas Till as Macgyver: I love it!!! This is fantastic casting he really feels like a younger version of RDA and I am so happy about it. I don't know how Winkler casted the role perfectly three times but wow

    2. The last line of the trailer: the bubblegum and q-tip thing was awesome and funny

    3. Pretty much all of the macgyverism and the locations feel spot on smile.gif

Over all I am quite happy

I think this show will be mindless fun. And that's a good thing.

About the hair: probably done purposely to make him look not too pretty-boyish. We will see if he keeps that hairdo.

Lucas Till is great. I just feel they should have cast someone older. This is really like they would cast a 25 year old Bond.

For me personally George Eads is the most valuable asset in this new show. He is highly popular and he is freaking great and I can't wait to see him finally in something else than CSI.

I watched the original series first time round, this looks generic though ill give it a go. The lead actor who is in Xmen is no RDA, lack of originality in Hollywood goes on and on. [-(

Really fire and ice? Shall we say the same when eon produces yet another bond film or when WB produces yet another batman or superman film? Like the other characters Macgyver is worthy of a reboot

Yes I saw in facebook. Still he won't carry no gun. I don't what I think but I will see the show. I was hoping Dynamite Comics will do MacGyver too. It will be exciting.

The TV reboot of Charlie's Angels was amazing! I think Bond and Batman are in better hands to be honest. Just my opinion this reboot does not grab me at all.

Knight Rider 2009 was great and big shame there never made second season.

The trailer is to heavy made with that music, Mac is back is strange (Something you can use with second season.) and not like it whant to update with Batman Begins plane and his father never murder. But atleast he look like on his father.

Need some time/hard lessen before he can stay in shoes of his father.

The new MacGyver will start tonight in my Australian in Channel 10. Some people may not like because they might prefer Richard Dean Anderson. I email Richard Dean Anderson about showing appearance but I never get an answer. I saw in IGMBD that Jack Dalton will be arm so is Nikkei his love interest. It going to be different from the original. But Murdoch might be make appearance depend who plays him. He more like the joker then you can think as Blofield.

the show is honestly fantastic episode 3 was just amazing I have been doing pros and cons lists on a macgyver site here is the third episode

    I loved it...

First and fore most my wife who doesn't like Macgyver period actually paid attention to tonight episode (she's nurse) and pointed out for the first time (in either the old or new series) the Macgyverisms were realistic.. I disagree as many magyverisms from the first show the TV movies an even young MacGyver and the new show are realistic but... still She is slowly getting interested :D

but beyond that how do I feel.. well for on I feel like I am betraying the original series as I love the new show this episode is by and large the best one so far but lets do the lists as I have been doing for each show so for

    Negatives
    1. Wilt Bowzer...I have tried to like this character believe me I have tried I just find him so annoying
    2. Thornton is back to too serious I feel I guess there was no moments for her to show her humanity but still I don't know if it's how the part is written or h actress I mean episode 2 showed her closer to Pete and episode 3 she is back to being Dench's M for lack of a better term
    3. the guest star was a bit too annoying...
    4. couldn't the do the "parental figure drama" garbage with Mac's grandfather who played that cliché role before it became a cliché role in T.V.'s Again cast RDA as Harry Jackson (or if he is so dead set you know what Brue McGill would make a decent Harry to be honest)

    Positives

    1. OMG the punch/shake of thing RDA does TILL DID!!!
    2. Eads and Till have such great chemistry whoever said they don't (referring to the pilot) is either nuts or doesn't know what chemistry is. he graveyard scene the beer scene all of it was great.
    3. ALL THE MACGYVERISM WERE ORIGINAL!!!!!! So happy not once did I say "oh wow they did the same thing in ..." and al of them were really cool plus I remember the big fear was Mac was going to be some annoying hacker person and with that fear the line "I am not the be with computers while everyone else on my block was playing with programs on their laptop I took mine apart to see how it worked" I laughed so hard
    4. Till continues to be PERFECT he is better then any actor I pictured.

So excited for episode 4 as this is the first time an actor is going to be both from the original series and in the new series
    http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0059946/?ref_=tt_cl_t7

so looking forward to seeing the return of actor Elya Baskn to the world of Macgyver

Ratings are at 1.5 which makes the show relatively secure for renewal.

good Jason... like I said I am aware I am the only one who is GAGA over the new Mac but the only way I can explain it to Bond fans imagine if the Brosnan era never happened and Bond didn't return till Casino Royale the amount of feeling and anticipation that is how I have felt.

I've seen the first episode. I do like & it good but not as good original TV series, The Richard Dean Anderson era. I couldn't believe Nikki Carpenter was bad in this the other Nikki in the original TV series was alway loyal to MacGyver. She like Vesper Lynn of Betray but she escape in the end.
