Who should be a Bond girl?

Robin is nothing special. She and Lilly are the main 2 females on the show and compared to Lilly, Robin is much more attractive but she is by no means a great actress. NpH is the show's main draw anyway. As for Smulders being in the avengers, I know, she's starring as Maria Hill but we'll see how Smulders does in the role. I don't care what Whedon thinks and I know he wanted Smulders for wonder woman at one point but Whedon is just a man doing a job who has his own opinion. I'll make my own decisions based on what I've seen but as of now, Smulders is definitely NOT leading lady Bond girl material.

Who said anything about being the leading lady? I didn't say anything about the leading lady. Eva Green was the female lead in CASINO ROYALE, but Caterina Muniro is considered to be a Bond Girl, and she has no more than ten minutes of screen time.

Well, then if we're casting women who aren't going to be leading ladies, who cares if their acting talent is great? It doesn't need to be; just so long as they're decent enough. They'll be there simply for eye candy and if that's the case, Smulders is adequate enough to fill such a position. Another meaningless notch under Bond's belt. That's fine.

I want to see Stana Katic come back as Corinne of Canadian Intelligence (end of QoS). Not because I think they can do something with her character- but because I watch Castle and I'd like to see her 'bonding' with Bond.

The movie shouldn't just add someone for the sake of it. I looooooooooove Stana, don't get me wrong, but I want Bond 23 to have characters that are necessary and useful.

So let's start a petition to make Stana necessary and useful! ;-)

I think that they could get some good use out of bringing Corinne back. The idea of Bond working with someone who almost ended up in the same dilemma as Vesper could be an idea worth exploring. They won't go in such a direction, as the decision seems to be to try to distance themselves as much from QOS as possible (which is the wrong decision, IMO) and create a more standard Bond film.

Either way, though, I'd love to see Stana Katic as a Bond girl, either as Corinne or as a different character entirely.

It's more to do with moving on from the reboot than anything else. The tone of the last two films will remain but with that arc completed, Bond will be doing different things. There's no problem with bringing Corinne at all as long as it's more about her troubles or anything other than Bond mourning Vesper which has been done.

I think the idea could be accomplished without having to have Bond continue to mourn Vesper. I think that it would be more interesting to put two seemingly different people (Corinne didn't strike me as someone who would necessarily be a field agent like Bond) together in order to uncover the conspiracy that is Quantum. Bond doesn't have to mourn Vesper to work with Corinne, but the idea of him joining up with someone who almost met a similar fate could be interesting. They could even use that concept as a way of attacking Quantum, since they know how they operate in order to gain unwilling recruits.

Yes, it's a good idea and why to proceed with the Quantum storyline when the time arises. Maybe EON think the same? ;-)

I remember that a lot of people assumed Katic would be returning in BOND 23 after QUANTUM OF SOLACE simply because Bond didn't go and solve the Canadians' problems for them. But that wasn't the point of the scene.

I also love "Castle". I think it's perhaps the smartest and funniest show on television at the moment. I reckon EON should get Will Beall to write a Bond film - he wrote "Sucker Punch", "Knock Down" and "Knockout" (the three episodes dealing with the death of Beckett's mother), which I think were three of the best hours of television that I've ever seen. If Bond fans want a film that is a tight and suspenseful thriller, then Will Beall should be one of the guys they go to first.

    I agree with j7wild
they should go with a hot international unknown (like they did in the old days)
    Zoe Saldana is HOT
    Tanit Phoenix
But they tried the hot ladies or the "in" hotties of the day with Pierce Brosnan's last three movies (Terri Hatcher, Denise (ugh) Richards, Halle Berry) and look where that got them.
All three rank as the worst of the Bond girls. 'Nuff said.

Zoe Saldana is definitely an unknown, and I prefer a good actress first who is also beautiful. I am angry Kate Winslet has never been a Bond girl. Both a talented actress and bombshell of a woman. And the women of Brosnan's era didn't get "nowhere" after Bond, they are all just untalented women in their "craft". They are also by far not the worst Bond girls, and only Jinx belongs at the bottom of the list. I agree, horrible Bond girl overall, but Christmas and Paris weren't soooo bad. Neither made me shake my head in disgust as Jinx did, a brainless woman who we were supposed to believe the CIA appointed as an operative. RIIIIIIIIIGHT.

We need to find a way to the Bhutanse Royal Family into a James Bond film. The King of Bhutan got married a few days ago, and Jetsun Pema the new Queen Consort of the tiny Himalayan kingdom makes Kate Middleton look like Susan Boyle:

    I'm Considering these woman actually
    1. Marion Cotillard (Well Known in Taxi 1-3 Series, opposite Samy Naceri)
    2. Diane Kruger (Well Known in Inglorious Basterds)
    3. Melanie Laurent (Same as Above)
    4. Franka Potente (Well Known in The Bourne Identity and The Bourne Supremacy)
    5. Charlize Theron (Well Known in Italian Job)
    6. Shu Qi (Well Knon in Transporter 1)

My only concern is that Marion, Charlize and Shu, while all hot, are currently around 35-36 years old and probably will be too old when the next film rolls around.

No way. They all don't look it, so what is the issue? Craig is in his 40s, so what is wrong with Bond gils at ages 35-36? Seems fine to me.
  • Nominate La Lohan before she turns 26 and becomes too "old." Paris Hilton as Moneypenny and Halle Berry in a cameo as Jinx. :-D

I'm not against them being 35-36 or something. I'm just saying they might not look the same when filming for the next movie rolls around.

And what are the chances of that happening? When Bond 24 start filming in either 2013 or at the start of 2014.

Um ... BOND 24 has not been confirmed. At all. So how can you assign a start-date to it?

Um because I seem to recall that part of the deal during the whole MGM mess was for the Bond movies from here on out, for the forseeable future to have releases every 2 years. Or at least that is what they intend to do. And so what if Bond 24 hasnt been confirmed at all? The FACT is there will be a Bond 24 regardless.

I'm sure people said the same thing about BOND 23 ... and then the MGM bankruptcy hit.

You can't predict the future. There is certainly no guarantee that BOND 24 will happen, much less that it will happen at a certain date.

What? don't be silly, shadow, of course there's going to be a (you can quote me on this)Bond 24.
The plan is for it to be released in 2014 but hey that doesn't matter because the world might end next week and there won't even be a Bond 23 let alone Bond 24. Actually, shadow don't look now but the sky is falling!!

Pfft, furthermore even with the MGM nonsense that happened recently there was no certainty when exactly we'd see Bond 23 but there was never any doubt that there'd be another Bond film. Dude, you're getting lost in your own pessimistic views.

Ya maybe they're around 35-36 years old, but it doesn't mean that they don't fit the role as a Bond girls. If you see the previous Bond films, esp 1964 "Goldfinger" and 1983 "Octopussy", both Bond girls (Honor Blackman and Maud Adams) are in their 37 Years old, even Mrs Blackman who were older than Connery himself. So there's no wrong yet the boundary for the girls who are in their mid 30's, just as long as they're not over 40.

Here's a radical idea: maybe Bond Girls should be chosen based on acting ability rather than how hot they are.

No. That is contrary to what Bond girls are. Their sexual appeal is much more important than their acting talents.

Didn't they say they want to make a Bond film every two years starting with Skyfall? Obviously @doubleoego based his thought on that.
