SPECTRE's "Pale King" - David Foster Wallace literary reference? (SPOILERS)

The late David Foster Wallace's last novel was titled "The Pale King", which is also SPECTRE's codename for Mr.White. I haven't read the novel but the basic description is that its about accountants and taxation, so it doesn't seem to tie in much. Or does it? I did notice this brief summary on wikipedia:

"an evil group within the IRS is trying to steal the secrets of an agent who is particularly gifted at maintaining a heightened state of concentration."

Potentially interesting. So, anybody read it? Any hidden connections in there?

Of course one morbid connection is that both Wallace and Mr.White commit suicide, so there's that. Maybe it was a tribute of sorts from one of the writers.
