Like Aston Martin or Heineken, Bollinger has also released a clip related to Spectre:<iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/0Fz1FOQadJE"; frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

Totally different from that little Bond film Heineken made (which I loved), but I equally love this Bollinger commercial. It really shows off the craftmanship of that wonderful champaign brand...and its love for James Bond 007. The zest and love that Fleming had for expensive food and wines....is shown off here perfectly.

This isn't the right thread for this, but I had a dream last night that SP was one of the best Bond movies I've ever seen. Let's hope I'm right! The last time I had a big Bond dream, it involved SF a good year or two before it was released, and I remember it involving Bond fighting people in a huge mansion for the finale, and sure enough, it was eerily correct!

Hadn't seen one of these in person yet. That's a big a-box!

Well I wouldn't mind if it's something more elaborate. I know there is a great deal of warranted and unwarranted distain for CGI. There is an incredible amount of virtually flawless effects work out there that is so good it goes unnoticed. If this is the "villain's lair" I want something spectacular like in the Connery and Moore films. If that means top notch CGI, then so be it.

You should read this article via Google Translate. It's about a talented Dutch film school graduate who got the chance to work on "SPECTRE", on Steve Begg's CGI-department. And it really makes me think that we are treating those guys like shit on here!! Digital effects nowadays are only truly noticeable when we're actually re-watching movies. And then those CGI-effects actually help making the film more realistic as well:

http://www.dichtbij.nl/duin-en-bollenstreek/regionaal-nieuws/artikel/4099479/stef-mesman-uit-lisse-helpt-james-bond-een-handje-in-spectre.aspx

The Google Translated Version:
Stef Mesman from Lisse gives James Bond a little hand in SPECTRE

The name is Mesman. Stef Mesman! The native of Lisse jump earlier this year jumped in the air of extatic joy. Just graduated in the field of visual effects in movies, he got the chance to work on the latest James Bond movie: "SPECTRE". He works since late June at Double Negative. The British company is one of Europe's top specialists. The official release date for "SPECTRE" for the Netherlands, October 29th, 2015.

"Recently I spoke with a manager within Double Negative," says Mesman. "It was about how my experiences in the past month. In the beginning it is especially training. It then looks at what movies you go to work. From above it was decided that I was "transferred" would be the Spectre department."

Traineeship
The latest James Bond film, "SkyFall" (2012), attracted two million (!!) Dutch moviegoers. Worldwide viewed state that production in terms of visitors on the twelfth of all time. "Especially in the UK, James Bond immensely popular. Normally, it takes years before you can get involved with "the big boys". I'm just this year graduated from the Dutch Film Academy. I can say that a dream is fulfilled, to work on a film with so much respect."

Last year was already Mesman placement at Cinesite, another company in London that is expert in the field of digital visual effects and computer animation. He devoted himself to the movies "San Andreas" and "Maggie". This year Double Negative offered him a 'traineeship'. "I was super excited. I sent my portfolio, resume and cover letter. Three weeks later, I received an e-mail. Yes! Through the first round it. For the second round, I flew with thirty enthusiasts to London. We had to present our portfolio to each other and people from the business community. This included a call. It was a kind of talent show. Applicants from countries including Japan, Russia, Sweden and New Zealand. Five days later I was told that I was on. And again ten days later I was able to work in London."

Responsible
The specialization of Mesman within the world of visual effects is 'digital compositing'. "I am at Steve Begg's "SPECTRE" department responsible for, for example, the removal of safety wires that are used for stunts, the replacement of faces in the context of stunts and the replacement or adaptation of environments. Each shot has its challenges. In a film like Spectre it's about everything one hundred percent really should look like; no monsters or aliens."

"Eighty percent of our work is invisible to the public. Twenty percent of the viewer know that it is human or physically impossible to perform such stunts. It's my job to make it look as good as possible. That people believe one hundred percent. Bluntly: my work is a kind of "photoshop", but then for 25 frames per second. In everything I do, get engineering, mathematics and artistic insight into the picture. "

Thanks for this video @Talos7. A must-see for all complainers and whiners on this Bond forum regarding CGI. Be happy that we actually HAVE CGI these days :-):

If he really expects people to believe 100% of his work in SP, then he better get to touching up the removal of the airplane's wings in Austria before the final film is released, because as it stands, it doesn't look that good. If it IS a practical stunt, then I'm simply confused as to why it looks so dodgy.

Trailers are always like that nowadays. The final version of the film will be much better. I think it's important we Bond fans don't forget that. When trailers hit the internet around March (first teaser trailer) then don't bloody expect finished CGI. Most of that CGI is temporarily made for the trailer....provisional CGI.

...or in SF's case, you get an amazing, well-done shot in the trailer and a piss poor revision of it in the film! Time will tell how it all looks.

Sorry, I find that quite a hype exaggeration here on the forum. Personally I started noticing that only AFTER I read the complaints about it on here. It sadly sheds a new, negative light on the film because of that though. But I prefer to go with my first impression of the entire film, not just one tiny CGI-detail

It's not like I don't care for SF solely because of a few dodgy sequences of CGI; I have multiple issues with it. However, it still confuses me why they had a beautiful, practical stunt in the trailer, and swapped it out for awkward CG instead. Someone thought that was a great idea, and I'm not sure why, but whatever. Let's hope that isn't the case this time around again, because the Bond films have always managed to pride themselves on having realistic, unique stunts that are ground-and-record breaking.

I just watched the trailer and the finished shot. The trailer shows a few frames in very slow motion the finished version shows Patrice falling and hitting a building and such in a realistic fast motion. You don't even see the whole fall in the trailer.Even then it looks kinda silly and anticlimactic. Looked more like a dummy being dropped in the trailer.

I think this is part of the Spectre special from Mail on Sunday

They have left the ending of this movie very open. It’s ambiguous. Does that mean that this is Daniel’s last Bond movie?

Léa - I could not say for certain. Anything is possible, right?

Look at the intensity in Madeleine Swann's face in that last shot. Can't wait to see what that train sequence has to offer! Many thanks for posting these, @leas_mole.

I'd would be mad too if Hinx just kicked a table into my head!

You are welcome - I knew the Daily Mail website would publish the article at some point. Hopefully the other exclusive photos will be online soon.

Love it. Just read the article. Barbara truly is 'Cubby' :-). But..having read that Daily Mail/Event-article.......it really makes "Casino Royale" and "Skyfall" look small in comparison...when we're talking about the action sequences. A bloody 6 min snow chase in Austria (and during production it was already shortened by deleting a final ski-doo chase), a 7 min car chase in Rome, than all these...extra's in Mexico...thousands of them, as compared to, let's say, the opera sequence in "Mission: Impossible - Rogue Nation". And there are not just a lot of beautiful locations, they all seem to play a major role in the action, as compared to the locations from "QOS" and "SF". It's just.....bloody fantastic.

And I'm going to say it now:

THIS IS THE "THUNDERBALL" AND "THE SPY WHO LOVED ME" OF OUR LIFETIME. Both movies excelled in their decades in the action-genre. We live in the 10-s now, and this is just....just....BIG!!

‘I’m not strong and macho. I’m not James Bond. I don’t need any of his lifestyle'

Can't believe they mispelt Blofeld! C'mon Daily Fail!
"It’s getting easier because I’m doing less stunt work. So I’ll keep going as long as I’m physically able. And, I’m contracted for one more. Ok? These movies don’t get made very often. It’s just the fourth time for me, a spit in the ocean. If you don’t get excited about making a movie of this size with this cast, with Sam Mendes…then go home!"

I think that's close enough for an indirect confirmation of the man: Daniel Craig is here to stay after "SPECTRE" ;-)! Yeah baby!! Trust me guys.

Bond baddies: As the criminal masterminds of Spectre gather in the boardroom, is supervillain Bloefeld REALLY among them?

Can't believe they mispelt Blofeld! C'mon Daily Fail!

Another wonderful quote I found from Ben Whishaw @leas_mole. Just read this. Isn't it wonderful?:
BEN WHISHAW: "Now it feels like I’m a part of the Bond family. When we started, Sam Mendes made a little speech and his final words were, ‘Let us remember Ian Fleming. He’s the person who set this incredible thing in motion.’ That made me think about Fleming and what he said about his creation, which was that it’s ultimately a romantic view of a spy. I believe that remains true of these films."

Why isn't there a thread for this ? How come I've only heard of this today ?

People that have the Skyfall/CR/QoS ones, are there any filming stories in the book, or are they mostly pics with small description about a thing or two ?

For CR QOS and SF, there was Bond On Set; and AFAIK they were just photos (I only have the Skyfall one). They're not doing Bond On Set for Spectre but instead this Blood Sweat and Bond thing, which will have filming stories and interviews I believe.
