Alas, due to a lack of a script he was thrown in last minute and has very little dialogue. So, he's basically just an assistant, protege and gopher of Dominic Greene. He probably has less than a minute of undivided screen time in all, and never fights Bond (aside from a quick scene of him aiming a gun to guard for Greene). Good comic relief, I guess?

He does have the honor of being my least favorite henchman of the entire series...so I suppose there's that. :D

I'll take an Elvis over a Stamper anyday.

I was never clear if this chap was an henchman or whether he was Greene's alternative lifestyle partner... He certainly did not seem effective as an henchman, and was evidently quite moved by Tosca.....that part when he glanced back at another one of Greene's thugs during it was particularly fey.

Why must every single character or actor or ... get their own appreciation thread? Couldn't some Elvis love be dropped in a QOS thread instead?

I would agree, especially for Elvis who is utterly forgettable.

Can't believe Elvis has an appreciation thread and the mighty Shane Rimmer doesn't. Might have to do something about that. I really don't see how this thread has legs.

Elvis is officially a henchman, whether you like him or not. I wouldn't even want to imagine what the movie would be without him.

As I'm writing a (defensive) article* on Elvis and his role in QoS for my blog I support this thread (and @M16_Cart for starting it) and appeal to the mods to please let it stay open! ;)

*It will be titled "Elvis has left the building...but nobody noticed!" - A Defence of Elvis, the much-maligned Henchman of Quantum of Solace (2008).

It's a shame @TheWizardOfIce isn't here. He'd have a field-day at the prospect of an actual appreciation thread.

I know. It's not as if there are, or ever have been, any other well known people called Elvis ;)

You may laugh, but in my opinion he's the strongest henchman of the Craig era so far. In fact I'd put him ahead of Zao so that makes him the reigning henchman champ of the century. Well done, Elvis. =D>

@BAIN123 - Yes, but this is a Bond forum. At what other people are called Elvis? I can't recall any off the top of my head ;-)

I think the best "henchman" was the thug who got blown up by Craig in Casino Royale.

I fail to see which support Elvis can deserve to get from us. He never does anything to Greene's direct advantage:

He calls Universal Exports, which was a clumsy thing to do (and reprimands the guard).
He flips open a cell phone on a plane.
    He eyes up a bodyguard.
He allows himself to be tripped by Fields.
He's used a live shield for Greene.

Well, that last option was perhaps the only thing Greene could benefit from.

Even Stamper did more for Graves than Elvis for Greene.

Honestly I think Elvis was a missed opportunity. For once we don't get the typical rude, muscled dude who's so obviously going to get into a fist fight with Bond. Elvis could have been far more interesting as a character. But he isn't a character, is he? I mean, what's his arc? What makes him unique?

Not difficult in the era of no henchmen. Although 'henchman' is a bit rich. He's basically a background artist with a bowl cut. Hinx looks like he may be the first 'true' henchman of the era.

I agree with this. The only other person during Craig's era that I would remotely consider a henchman is Kratt from CR, but even then, he's given very little screentime and dialogue and has no bouts with Bond.

I quite like how he dies in the explosion and you see his clothes get ripped apart from the blast but that is really the only thing memorable about him imo.

He's not even a henchmen, He's Greene's lame cousin who just stands around and does nothing. He didn't kill anyone and didn't do anything except stare at Greene's thug like he's fallen in love.

His look suggested he was gonna be a very disturbed type of henchman but as we know, nothing could have been further from the truth! :-q

It's blatantly obvious that Elvis is a parody of the traditional Bond henchman. Whereas the henchman is typically highly skilled, useful, dangerous, and physically threatening, Elvis is the TOTAL OPPOSITE of all of those things. Even obvious comedy characters like Nick Nack at least did things to assist their master!

I think a lot of people didn't get the joke here.

I realize this is meant to be an appreciation thread, but I'm sorry. Elvis was useless imho. I really thought he and Greene had something going on, and far from being an henchman, I thought he was more of a male secretary of sorts....

Elvis is as much of a henchman as qos is a good bond film

I appreciate how Elvis made me appreciate all other henchmen and henchwomen.
