    For me :

    1) FYEO (Great use of Fleming material, impressive stunts)

    2) LTK (same, with a great performance by Timothy Dalton)

    3) TLD (the stunts are not really impressivve compared to the first two)

    4) AVTAK (can't believe in the Bond Girl)

    5) OP (where to start ? The double-taking camel takes the cake, and Bond as a clown is the final nail in the coffin).

Just to add further to my ranking, besides of LTK being the best of the bunch for me, Gladis theme is also the best of them and give me goosebumps when it strikes during the intro. It captures well the dark tone of the movie. On the minus side though, i think the movie really begins showing his strenghts only from the moment James begins to infiltrate Sanchez's casino. It's at that point that the movie really begins to feel like a bond/espionage movie. While we're talking music, the Glen bunch is more fortunate than the average moore bond in those terms. Only two Moore's have a cool theme, live and let die and AVTAK, the other being the usual cheesy lady song (the soundtracks are still fine though). Whereas the Glen bunch have three very nice themes out of five (AVTAK TLD LTK) which is not a bad average.

    1. Octopussy
    2. License to Kill
    3. For Your Eyes Only
    4. The Living Daylights
    5. A View To a Kill

The first two are really close, so are the second two, and then there's AVTAK...

    My list has changed somewhat-

    1) FYEO
    2) OP
    3) LTK
    4) AVTAK
    5) TLD

They're all in my top ten, so TLD in fifth place is no insult.

I like all of them except for avtak. There's a line when it comes to campiness, and this one crosses it.

@GBF, happy to know I'm not the only big AVTAK fan. I've said it before, but regardless of where I rank it amongst the others, I enjoy the hell out of it every time I see it.

TLD's a classic, LTK has a sense of danger unmatched by nearly every other Bond film, OP is great fun, AVTAK isn't very good but still fun enough... The only one I have no time for is FYEO.

Best John Glen Bond I think is OP.
I reach for that one before the other 4. Actually I don't generally reach for the other 4,...well maybe AVTAK and LTK...but rarely for TLD and FYEO.

    1. OP (despite Tarzan call.)
    2. FYEO (could have done without cartoonish Blofeld)
    3. TLD (waving falling dummy is embarrassing.)
    4. AVTAK (guilty pleasure. Great villain wasted on stupid plot.)
    5. LTK (too low rent to be any higher)

A golden era in Bond history. Two great Bonds. Five never less than entertaining movies. Glen is hugely underrated around here. Sure, he's no auteur, but he knew how to tell a story simply and compellingly, and was perhaps the best director of action the series ever had. Okay, it was the second unit, but Glen knew exactly what he wanted.

OK ..my Glen ratings : ..(been a while)

    1. OP (the 1st Bond flick i saw at the cinema, love the soundtrack and Kamal Khan,Gobinda...and i have a massive hardboard of the original film poster right above me now in my living room.kind of shows how much i like it )
    2. LTK (an equal to OP but just didn't have the Bond 'panache' ,even though a better film tbh,as my ratings show on my Bond Film list, well, which is 2 years out of date )
    3. AVTAK (fun romp, and Sir Rog didnt go out with a spoof)
    4. FYEO (John Barry was missed with the score in this)
    5. TLD ( never floated my boat, way down on my list)

I agree with all of this but remember that John Glen made his bones as a second unit man on the Bond films. Nobody understood Bond action sequences better than him in the late 60s and 70s, and then they gave him the chair for the 80s and I think the series is better for it. My three favourite action sequences of the series (Aston Martin ice chase, cargo plane fight, tanker chase) are all in Glen films.

The gap in quality between FYEO and AVTAK is more pronounced.

There are several reasons why I rank FYEO first, partly because I think its henchmen are more threatening, and recovering the ATAK is more important than stopping Brad Whitaker, even though 004 is killed. I do wish Dalton had made a third, with a better script. Speaking of Glen's action sequences, I love the FYEO ski chase (though probably not as much as the one in OHMSS), and the climbing sequence. In Octopussy, one brief scene that always sticks with me is when Bond emerges from the train car and shoots to death two Russian soldiers who're trying to kill him--quintessential Bond marksmanship, and the sound his gun makes is classic--I also think Glen filmed it very well. I think it's almost a tie for second between TLD and OP.

I really love the first three on my list, even AVTAK. I am really sad that almost everyone here seems to hate it. OP and LTK are also good. The Glen films are my favourite Bond era. Very underrated and enjoyable films.
