    Bond is not Batman or Superman! We have had a reboot so lets not go down that route again! Their is no need too as this means no Q? Moneypenny? We all know who the character is, so when Craig moves on, start afresh but with a Bond we recognise in the sense that he is established in his job.

    Not really. Lazenby, Moore and Dalton all made references to something from previous Bond movies, from different actors (mostly the death of Tracy).

    With the exception of Lazenby the actors the preceeded pretty much ignored what came before. A "Soft Reboot" if you will. The Star Trek reboot still mentioned stuff from it's past.

    Yes I think soft reboot is an appropriate description.

    I personally can't stand comic book movies, I liked the Nolan films and the odd one here and there but Marvel just bores me to death but I think it's only inevitable that they influence Bond and to think it won't is somewhat naive.

    We're on the same page. My only problem with the Nolan films is that it never felt like it was Batman that I was watching.

    To be honest I enjoyed them so much is because they weren't like the comic book version, I'm expecting to not like Affleck's version but it will no doubt give allot of comic book fans great satisfaction.

    Bale might not have been a Batman fan's idea of both Bruce Wayne and the caped crusader but I found it so much more rewarding than anyone else that played him.

    Strangely enough a friend of mine who is a big comic book fan said he enjoyed Nolan's films very much but they weren't true to the source, he said they have more in common with the James Bond series than Batman.

    I think I understand that even if you take away all the Bond nods in all 3 Nolan films, they have a feel of Bond film at times, TDKR explosive climax definitely reminded me of Bond.

    It's the armor-Batman, that we've come to expect in all live action versions, that really turns me off.

    I think Nolan tried to make Batman as realistic as is possible with in the context of the story and the suit being like armour was his way of doing that, it did get ridiculous by the third film but I had no problem with up to that point.

    I think he wanted you to believe he could handle what he did and explain it by the suit although I'll take that over Adam West's ridiculous costume. All Batman films going forward are unlikely to be much different to the ones in Burton's and Nolan's films just slightly tweaked to suit the tone of the film.

    As I said I'm not going to get precious over it because the comic books have no real relevance to me. It's not like Bond which has been with me for 37 years, comic book movies are far more recent experience in comparison and I only like a small amount of them, it's not a genre that excites me, in fact very little blockbuster cinema gets my juices going anymore although I do hold out hope for The Force Awakens and can't wait for SPECTRE.

    So in an interview Barbra Brocolli said that Craig has an open ended contract. That's a little different from the signed on for two more agreement during the release of Skyfall. I'm still wigging out over how SP ends. I don't think I can settle until I know Bond 25 is announced. I really don't want another 4 film Bond. It's not enough!

    I take it it means he will do at least one more, with an option for 100 more.

    They've probably renegotiated his contract post Skyfall, with the "Billion Dollar Bond film" and all.

    I have been telling people this for quite a while. Craig is under no obligation to do another Bond after SP. The only reason he'll do another is if he wants to, and this will likely be based on...

    1. How long it takes to get Bond 25 ready to shoot;
    2. How he feels and if he feels up to doing another, in respect to other projects he might have*;
    3. Who's on board to direct (if Mendes agrees to do B25, then DC woulkd definitely be on board);
    4. $$$$

    *DC will won't do it if he can't physically do it. Kudos to him...he wants to be as physically involved as possible.

    Agree with you TripAces! It will be interesting to see how it plays out especially with Mendes? Craig I think will do one more though and that I think will be it?

    we can only pray that Craig is willing to do more Bonds. he is just brilliant. I don't think he's the kind of person that can do what Connery did with YOLT. Connery seems to be just bored in that film. (i sincerely hope that Craig will do seven Bonds, just like Moore, but, different than with Moore, not only the actor, but also the character will age. i would love to see that.)

    I think Craig will do one more after SP because it is an open ending, and then quit. i don't envisage him wanting nor needing to carry on past a 5th.

    God knows where the series will go. I say that because the Craig era has beeing one long strand of continuity. Bond, M, Q and MP and the actors that play them are very much synonomous with eachother and share great chemistry. To have Bond recast may seem odd. Whoever is cast as Bond, it stands to reason that we finally get a Bond on mission, alone in the field film, without too much interference from the rest. Sort of like Casino Royale and QoS were. Bring Felix back! We need more Wright!

    Very soft. Even DAF Connery did not completely ignore the events of OHMSS. Okay, it only really make a vague allusion to it in the PTS, but still.

    IMO I just cant see Craig not doing Bond 25. I feel ending it at 4 total films and the 24th film seems weird to end it on. I feel Craig would want to do 1 more Bond to beat out Pierce

    God no, no reboot after Craig leaves, please. Just cast a solid successor in his early/mid 30's and continue the series, with a few fresh twists.

    No one better than Martin Campbell to introduce the new fella' when Dan does eventually retire, of course...

    Idk I just feel he doesn't want to be another bond ending at 4. It might cause confusion

    I can see the same team of Craig & Mendes returning for Bond 25. I think Bond 25 will continue the story began in Skyfall making it (sort of) a Bond trilogy. After that then I think they'll reboot.

    Is it really going to end in SP with the reveal of Blofeld and maybe his demise or more likely, DC having to chase him in B25 as the slippery so and so manages to escape? That would be more of a story arc that Daniel would like to see through to it's completion/climax surely?

    Indeed, it's hard to conceive DC breaking away after SP, if the story arc isn't quite complete. This is especially true if Mendes signs on to do Bond 25.

    If Mendes does 25 I'll eat my hat.mind you I was sure he wouldnt return for 24.

    Be good to have Martin Cambell back to conclude everything.

    The only reason, other than physical wear and tear, that I would have thought Craig would stop doing Bond was to do other film work. But Between SF and SP, other than Broadway, he did no other film which was surprising, so he wouldn't stop doing Bond for that reason. Probably it's pride in his Bond work that keeps him going and the now huge pay day has to have some influence.

    I can't see them slotting another actor in to continue the open ended story line from SP as film goers are going to want to know what happens with Bond and Swan and Blofeld. I think the huge budget for this film is also a major factor. They need to keep the risk side down for gigantic budgets like this one for SP, and casting a new Bond is the single biggest risk EON can take. I would think they'd want to avoid recasting for as long as they logically can and as long as Craig's Bonds are making huge BO. If SP is another huge hit, I'd really be amazed if they recast for B25. But if SP doesn't perform, well all bets are off.

    My gut keeps Saying Nolan will do Bond 25 and Mendes will return for 26 and both will be Craig

    Mind you this is just a gut feeling and based on recent interviews in spite of Spectre ending on in my opinion the biggest cliffhanger in franchise history the producers have no idea where to go from here I would wager we will get the writers of bond 25 this winter and we will get director announcement this time next year

    One remark I have, and then I'll leave this topic again:

    "NO!" :|

    Ehm, I'm lying. A few more remarks:

    I want Craig to stay for at least two more films after "SPECTRE". He's the Connery of our days. He brought the franchise back in a "2nd Golden Era of Bond", after those great succesful 1960's.

    Anyone who honestly believes SP is Craig's last is dreaming. He'll be back for Bond 25 at least and after that who knows. I'd like him to do 2 more, which would bring him up to around age 50 but preferences aside, he'll definitely be back for Bond 25.

    And even more so. If Tom Cruise can do a fifth ("M:I"-film), and Vin Diesel can do a sixth ("Furious"-film), then for God sake Daniel Craig at least must do a 5th Bond film! :-)

    My understanding was that SPECTRE is the first film of two in a story arc, highly unlikely Bond 24 will be his swansong. I expect Craig to do five films in total, recent photos and footage I have seen Craig is looking better, looks younger than he was in SF IMO.
