SPECTRE: What will the Villain's Scheme of this Bond film be? What's the "Terrible Truth"?

  • Silva had plenty of mooks and money thrown around, with back up plans within back up plans, but he was ultimately quite petty and childish. Quantum/SPECTRE should be much older and grander, with their terrible secret being a NWO type scheme, enacted by "people everywhere".

Again, my bet: biological warfare. Developed in a clandestine lab set in an Austrian castle.

Something like Project Utopia, with SPECTRE culling and controlling the world's population through engineered viruses and handing out antidotes to people willing to follow Blofeld?

My take is that the "terrible truth" isn't about the organization's plans. It's about who they are or represent. I can't make any predictions at this point, but there is something that bothers me that might just be cleared up through this: how M managed to escape death at the beginning of QoS and how Craig Mitchell had worked as a personal bodyguard for so long without anyone knowing who he really was. I think she did know.

Well it's very disturbing enough that Quantum had somebody placed on M's staff and showed how far the syndicate spread their influence.
  • I haven't read the leaks, but my fear is that it would be one of these:
Oberhauser IS Blofeld, and he (or his associates) had killed Bond's parents, and he and Bond are step brothers or some such nonsense. Ironically this was already made fun of in the third Austin Powers movie.
SPECTRE turns out to be a mole organization withing MI6, which would be ripping off Captain America 2. Then again, Skyfall kinda ripped off The Dark Knight, with the villian letting himself get captured, etc., so anything's possible (although to be fair, Dark Knight Rises totally ripped off TWINE).

Wel, just in between, I'm soooo glad Dr Evil is back onse more :-P. I was laughing my balls of with this video. Keep going Mr Evil 8-X :

PS: Wun-der-ful free marketing for "SPECTRE" :-P

By the way, here's a nice little article for the "green" young Bond fans about S.P.E.C.T.R.E. and Ernst Stavro Blofeld. Written by David Leigh: http://www.mi6-hq.com/sections/articles/opinion-spectre-speculation-david-leigh-blofeld-oberhauser?t=&s=&id=03815

Just another reminder to EON not to ruin SPECTRE or Blofeld again. Though Hopefully another Austin Powers movie comes out to keep the cliche's relevant so they could avoid them in the future.

I'm really not worried about it @Murdock :-). These scetches are funny, witty anddddd they, how weird it may sound, give "SPECTRE" some free viral marketing :-). The longer I think about it, it actually could profit "The Interview" as well. Especially since Sony now starts making new plans for a new premiere early 2015. Just imagine how many people suddenly would love to see this film.

I also fully trust that SPECTRE and Blofeld won't be made into a laughable act in "SPECTRE". "Re-inventing the wheel" has been the core motto for Barbara Broccoli and Michael G. Wilson since "Casino Royale".

By the way, I heard "Kingsman: The Secret Service" will also fully tap into old, more cheesy Bond films, like "YOLT" :-). There's a wunderful bit of talk between Colin and Samuel L. Jackson in Samuel's evil lair, that fully addresses the cheesy fun of past Bond film. It can only help "SPECTRE" I guess ;-).

Yeah Kingsman is already on my pass list. I just hope SPECTRE is good. Some of the things I read really worry me.

Yep. It looks lame to me. I don't see any Bondian traits in it at all. And considering the comments by some of the crew bad mouthing Bond it's something that doesn't deserve my time.

I think.....it'll be a big success, and moreover, a really great bit of entertainment! I think, it's a wunderful gesture, a wunderful appreciation of the -early- Bond films, not the newest Bond films.

Perhaps but it doesn't tickle my fancy any. I'll probably watch it when the DVD comes out but I don't feel the need to see it in the cinema. Badmouthing Bond only leads to trouble in my book. Which is why I have avoided the Bourne movies.

I wouldn't recommend that. I have my own Hidden Truth people should worry about. >:) 10847811_581157668681825_3316605917116627415_n.jpg?oh=c4cf92139a400151e1bf0eeb7ce5f79e&oe=54FC1F09

Skyfall kinda ripped off The Dark Knight, with the villian letting himself get captured

TDK ripped off Nikita Season 2. Kinkade whas already a bit strange. Where iam afraid for be that Kinkade know the truth about his parents death and that Bond and we live in a illusions there not be murder as we get reference in The Living Daylights. In that case there can better have named the movie: ''A Dream I lived By''.

Well, luckily we have 2015, which can be titled "The Ultimate Spy Year". Suddenly, movies like "M:I 5", "Kingsman: The Secret Service" and "The Man From U.N.C.L.E." get accused of copying Bond....Mr James Bond 007 ;-). Because in a "Spy Year", Bond is always the biggest, the BEST :-).
  • Does anyone recall the "International Brotherhood for Assistance of Stateless People"? It was S.P.E.C.T.R.E.'s cover name in the movie "Thunderball" and the novel of the same name. Just like Universal Exports is for James Bond's MI6.

Now I have been thinking why Mexico is included in the story/plot of the 24th Bond film "SPECTRE". As there have been already quite a lot of border conflicts between Mexico and the USA, this could perhaps be the reason to re-introduce SPECTRE's cover organization in Mexico no :-)?

Does this make it likely Mexico will show up quite early in the film?

There was someone in the photos/videos thread who posted a picture of the location of the PTS, which after I did some research, is a place called Zocalo or Place de la constitution in Mexico City.

That's the main square in México City indeed. Of that's the case, then I'm still surprised no information about the nature of the (PTS)-scenes haven't been leaked yet. If only Zucola Square is in the PTS, then I have a feeling this could be a rather "quiet", action-less PTS.

One that is similar to the ones in FRWL, TB, LALD and CR. Perhaps it includes the lair of S.P.E.C.T.R.E. and it could include the assassination of Mr White by 007.

Not necessarily. There could be some sort of shoot out, or perhaps even a terrorist attack during some kind of significant event being held at the square?

In the novel it was something different, a charity who tried to localize ancient Résistance fighters during WWII, I believe.

I wouldn't call what's happened on the US southern border a "conflict" per se, but I like the brotherhood idea. Also the Mexican cartels are some of the richest and most evil criminal organizations in the world (see their kidnapping and killing of 43 students) if they were tied in with SPECTRE that's be great.
