Thanks for that! I've been wanting to find Bond remixes and things of the sort, so this is perfectly timed.

Man, Count Basic's License To Kill rocks. 10x improvement over the original imo.

Here's another one (cover). What do you think of it ? Personnally, I appreciate it even if it's very different from the original.

There's also a The Living Daylights cover made by The Narrow...

I really like the Within Temptation (female fronted Dutch rock band) cover of Skyfall. It's not on the list.

Wow. Shirley Bassey made a song for QoS and it got rejected for what we got. Huh?!

I know it's a little bit out of the topic idea, but anyway, I always like to mention this three brazilian musics based on some classic Bond themes. Agnaldo Timóteo, a very popular brazilian singer in the 60's, made two Bond theme covers ("From Russia With Love" and "Thunderball"). There's also Fafá De Belém, a popular singer from the 70's-present, who sung a music based on the classic "Nobody Does It Better". Check it out:

Agnaldo Timóteo - Em Busca Do Amor

    Agnaldo Timóteo - Furacão

Fafá De Belem - Meu Homem

No Good About Goodbye was not even finished when QoS was released. David Arnold was composing it for the movie (and this shows in the movie score, because the main riff from NGAG is heard frequently in the movie), but the song was not completed in time for it to make to the movie.

Its a tracklist of my mixtape ( http://www.mixcloud.com/marvinsan/from-mravin-with-love/ ) so lot of things missing ;-)
I made the topic because I hope we can collect more unusual materials to make more mixtapes :-)

    Within Temptation rocks! Thx!

Excellent list although you have missed off Pulp's rejected TND track.

yes, the Pulp version is great, but I put one Pulp track in the mix, so I choosen the Saint Etienne version of TND.

Personally I would have thought an original title track would be of more interest than a cover and I don't really think anyone would complain if a band featured twice but each to his own.

I'm surprised that Kerry Ellis's version of "Diamonds Are Forever" is not on the list, given that I had posted it not long ago in another thread. I repost it here :

You can find it on her album "Anthems".

To which we can add three french songs. Yes, the french versions of some Bond movies also feature french versions of the the songs. So here's the french version of "From Russia With Love", sung by Bob Asklöf.

"Les Yeux de l'Amour" (The Look of Love", from CR '67) sung by Mireille Matthieu :

And the french version of "Do You Know How Christmas Trees Are Grown", sung by Isabelle Aubret :

Not used in the french version of YOLT, but covered in French by Lucky Blondo :

    And I'm sure there's more.

Maybe we could make a comprehensive list from the original post and from everything added since.

i have an iTunes playlist dedicated to rejected bond themes lol.. Beyond The Ice by Red Flag has always been a personal favorite of mine... had they gone with that theme, and not gone the campy route with DAD - and made it in the vein of CR or QOS, hot damn would that have been an excellent movie + song combo.

Totally agree, I think Beyond the Ice is a marvelous song - I would remove "You Only Live Twice" from the lyrics, but other than that it works perfectly with the title sequence.

    does this one count?

"Millennium" by Robbie Williams.... it's not a rejected theme, nor a cover - but it does sample Barry's music to You Only Live Twice..

    Why not? :)

Then a sample quiz: From Which movie, which scene is this? ;)

I guess that the sample comes from TMWTGG
