Let's just say I wouldn't mind trading in Purvis, Wade and the likes of them for a Robert Harris script. :P Without doubt!

    I didn't tought that simple posters would rose such interesting exchanges;
So, let's go ahead. Keep Brosnan as Bond in Casino royale but change the whose cast:
Rose Byrne As Vesper, Thomas Mienzes as Le Chiffre, Sierra Miller as Solange and Seal as Obanno.
    As usual enjoy!
    Brosnan Casino Royale

Im sorry DC he looks like someone's grandfather. I want a James Bond that looks like he can handle himself when in danger. Not a senior citizen.
  • I don't disagree that Brosnan looks good for his age - and even at 57 or 58 he's probably more handsome than any of us posting here. But looking good for his age isn't the same as looking good as Bond. His time is past (some pics of him REALLY show his age) but he had a good kick at the can.

Maybe, Dimi, we could agree Robert Harris (Ghost Writer author) should write a Bond script in the future ? ;;) He's a fantastic thriller author. I loved the work he did on 'Archangel', made into a BBC miniseries with Daniel Craig.
Picked up Archangel on DVD from my liquidating Blockbuster for a few bucks just because Craig's face was on the cover and I found to really enjoy it too! One of the better TV miniseries/movies I've seen.

But as far as Brozza goes in Casino Royale I would have to say 'nay'. Brosnan does look good for pushing 60 (far better than Moore did in AVTAK), but it is obviously too late for him. A film that truly acknowledged Bond as an aging spy would be interesting, but Brosnan I'm afraid has missed his chance!

I wouldn't say he looks like a grandfather in that pic. More like a handsome maturing man.

My god, the make up was applied there with a cement mixter.

As soon as Casino Royale was available and they decided to reboot Brozzer was out! And rightly so...

I've seen stars that look far worse and far more "obviously" made up @actonsteve. Your exaggerating. True Im sure they used a fair bit of make-up but I don't think it shows that much.

    Great Posters

    But......

The nail in the coffin for Brozzer was the hover craft accident and the fact DAD had an explosion every 20 seconds. Then came Jinx because of this Brozzer was given the push. Then Came the idea of CR so they needed another younger bond.....

So to cut a long story short he never WOULD of done CR as a film.

Good work on the CR poster. Can't see the first one.
And I agree with anyone who says Brosnan could have pulled a mature Bond. A few movies after his retirement from the role show how gracefully he has aged. Yep, he does look much younger or should I say better today than Moore did at same age.

I don't think the question should be if Brosnan would make a good "older" Bond, but if the public movie going audience in general would have accepted an "older" Bond despite who played him,

Brosnan is still the best Bond after Connery.

True, since Moore tops them both.

What amazes me is that if we had a poll Dalton would probably come out second. I mean Dalton!! 8-X

Anyway, all opinions are allowed, some are just shot down in flames more tha others ;-)

Sometimes I feel inferior on here for enjoying an actor most people seem to hate ;)

You should never feel that way, friend.

I don't have a problem not fancying Diana Rigg the way most of our members do. Neither am I worried about considering DAD a more enjoyable Bond flick than TWINE. And I most certainly don't feel inferior because I think MR is one of the nicest Roger Moore Bonds.

We had a Bond actors rating thread on the IMDb Bond board a few weeks ago, with one actor every week and folks rated him X out of 10, and the end result was as follows:

    1. Connery
    2. Dalton
    3. Moore
    4. Brosnan / Craig (exact tie)
    5. Lazenby

The Craig and Brosnan tie was quite interesting.

I would not have expected to find Craig below Moore and Dalton now that he is James Bond. Still, I'm happy to see Dalton in a second place!

    Indeed, Virage.

007Art, if you do take requests, I would love to see a poster of CR (made around 1996) with Dalton as Bond, and Linda Fiorentino as Vesper.

By the way, great poster for Respect For The Crown. Dalton and Zeta-Jones. A Welsh agenda? Nosiree. ;-)
  • when craig leaves i want brosnan to make a CR videogame, its only fair after that f*cked up GE game we got

Brosnan has aged well. In my opinion Moore aged rapidly between Moonraker and AVTAK. Connery went through a bad period only to look good again around 1980. And for those who are saying that Brosnan looked old in DAD the omens are not good for Craig is this 'natural' photo is anything to go by.

Just oldish - tired, drawn. Without film make-up.

You're expecting him to look full of vigor all the time, 24/7? Come on. The shape he is in at the moment that shouldn't even be a question. He's ripped and ready for Bond 23!
