Where can Bond "go"?

edited March 2011 in Bond Movies Posts: 11,189
It might be interesting to hear where people think this new James Bond can "go" for the next installment. Should he go back to a more "traditional" adventure or should he go in a new direction. If so, what?

    Is this topic already been discussed in another category?

    at first i thought this was a thread on locations... like i've seen 5,000 times on IMDB lol...

    in what way do you mean "new direction"?.. as in, continue down the same path laid out by Casino Royale and Quantum Of Solace?...in overall tone of the characters, yes.... but i would much rather see a more traditional style of Bond film - maybe in the vein of Goldfinger or Thunderball... films that take themselves seriously, but also incorporate a lot of what we'd refer to today as traditional Bond elements...

    I wouldn't mind a return of the gadgets - as they have become part of the traditional and expected elements of a Bond film... BUT... I would like them to be believable - like Bond's briefcase in FRWL, or hell, even his magnet/saw watch in LALD... no invisible cars...

    I've just noticed how some people go on about what can be "brought to the table".

    Here is a chance to suggest ideas.

    I quite agree with the "no invisable cars" thing though ;

    More gadgets but they have to be within the realms of reality and purpose.

    I like what they have done with CR and QoS, but I'd sacrifice it all if it meant more psycho-babble from Dench and Co. Cut it out please.

    Get some glamour or at least some snobbery back into him too. One of the best bits in QoS is when he turns his nose at the hotel in La Paz. CR oozed class but QoS felt a bit cheap, despite it's monumental production costs. The main villain using an eco-hotel as one of his private hideaways? I mean come on.

    Get him back on skis too.

    * A classy location
    * Some noir feeling
    * A couple of down toned gadgets
    * Some elements from Fleming, take something from YOLT ( the book )
    * A PTS
    * The gunbarrel
    * Less screentime with M, more screentimes for boobies
    * More humour
    * Q or Moneypenny
