Connery did a FRWL game in 2005, which film/actor would you like to see with a game next?

@00Beast - surely it's inevitable that you have to have some original content? Even with TB and YOLT you couldn't necessarily create a game without say 30% being original content necessary to drive a game.

The Living Daylights would make for an awesome game. With the opening sequence, the ice chase, and the whole second half of the film a mixture of stealth a raw action. It would make for a great mixture of level types in lots of different locales. It's the best candidate I can think of.
  • We need a Moonraker game, but needs to be updated in a way to blend in with modern sci-fi (but I'm not going into anything like aliens, Doctor Who or that sort of thing). Also, there should be a TMWTGG one, and there needs to be a mode where you can play as Scaramanga. The game could have 2 different endings - Scaramanga kills bond or vice versa. If we get another game based on an old Bond it NEEDS to be updated to blend in with today's game market.

I like that idea! That's really great! Kind of like Star Wars The Force Unleashed if you've ever played that. You get to choose whether Starkiller murders Darth Vader or if he takes on The Emperor to save the Rebel Alliance. I could definitely see the whole Bond/Scaramanga thing, and it'd be interesting to play the reverse scenario!
  • I'd like to see a video game based on License To Kill and have Timothy Dalton voice Bond. It would be great if Carey Lowell and Robert Davi could return as well. I'd want it to be a very good game though. Not just another Bond game.

What do you think of this level set-up if this were how it went down? It's loose, and there would probably have to be added material, but this is the general idea.

Level 1 (Florida, PTS) OBJECTIVE: Defeat Sanchez's thugs on the airstrip and capture Sanchez's plane using the helicopter hook

Level 2 (Krest's Marine Research Center) OBJECTIVE: Stealthily infiltrate the research center and acquire information on Felix's injury; defeat Ed Kilifer

Level 3 (The WaveKrest) OBJECTIVE: Infiltrate the WaveKrest and acquire intelligence; defeat Krest's divers and hijack the plane with the drug money

Level 4 (Barrlehead Bar) OJECTIVE: Defeat Dario and his thugs, escape bar with Pam

Level 5 (Isthmus Casino) OBJECTIVE: Spy on Sanchez's meeting with the Orientals and avoid detection at all costs; set up a sniper position and take out Sanchez (attempt); fight the ninjas

Level 6: (WaveKrest): OBJECTIVE: Infiltrate the WaveKrest again, this time avoiding detection once more and setting up incriminating evidence against Krest himself

Level 7 (The Lab): OBJECTIVE: Escape the cocaine crusher trap and defeat Dario ( a little different from the movie to add action), escape before the lab blows

Level 8 (The Tankers) OBJECTIVE: Destroy the tanker trucks; kill Sanchez's remaining forces and defeat Sanchez in a final boss fight

I would very much like to see this happen. LTK was a great film, and I would love for Dalton to be featured in a game. Plus, as @00Beast showed with his excellent breakdown of how the levels could be set up for a LTK game, the film is full of excellent moments that could be translated into exciting action for a video game.

Thanks @Chuck! Even though there are only eight levels as of now, the game makers would have to throw in either some extra levels that didn't happen in the movie (like the FRWL game) or expand upon certain things in the movie that might have happened or were left up to our imagination.

I could definitely see a LTK game coming off a bit better than the FRWL game a few years back. First off, I think that the film lends itself better to a videogame, with more sequences that could be either expanded upon or even rather faithfully translated to the medium, as it's more of an action-oriented film than the relatively action-less FRWL. Plus, I think Dalton's voice now sounds more like what it did back in the late 1980s than Connery's did when he voiced Bond in the FRWL game, as it was obvious that his voice was fading on him at that point, and it was quite jarring to hear such an older-sounding voice coming from a character model of a 30 or 40-something Bond.

Yeah, Connery's voice was full of those hilarious yet classic Connery "sh" sounds! I first played the FRWL game before I saw the movie, and once I saw the movie, I was so surprised to hear the younger Connery voice! But yes, Dalton would work well for a game rendition of LTK, and I have a feeling that his likeness would be fun to control and play as.

007 Legends is taking care of some of this, in terms of the movies yet to be used, but unfortunately, not in likeness. Roger, George, and Timothy have all yet to receive their due credit in video game adaption form!

    I'd totally play this game.

There would also need to be a "hair cheat" in which you could give Tim a sensible haircut.

@doubleonothing: Thanks man! I wish there was more opportunities to make a longer game, since eight levels just isn't enough. Still though, regardless, I'd completely buy it and play it! And yes, hahahaha, let's install the hair cheat so we don't have to witness the horrible casino 'doo he sports.

Sir Roger Moore (The Spy Who Loved Me or Moonraker) or Sir Timothy Dalton (The Living Daylights)

If Activision had brought back Pierce Brosnan and the original cast from the movie for Goldeneye Wii remake/Goldeneye Reloaded, I would've given a 10/10 from me on the game.

David Niven, in a Casino Royale reimagining made by Activision. I can just see Sir David offing the bad guys with head shots while calling in a Napalm strike.

Simple answer and a real challenge : ALL actors in EACH film, respectively. I couldn't believe Craig was Bond twice in recent "GoldenEye"s... They should have put Brosnan back with his best likeness at that time and his voice, at that time manlier in 1995.

    - Connery in "Dr. No", FRWL, "Goldfinger","Thunderball", YOLT, DAF.

    - Lazenby in OHMSS... etc.

And for this, continue the "007 : Legends" approach : one disc, some missions... otherwise make a disc "Connery version" (6), then a "Moore version" (7) then "Brosnan version" (4) and finally "Last Trio version" which means 6 missions as well.

The very best of all would be a swap of actor in a mission (Lazenby in Skyfall, Brosnan in Thunderball, for instance) considering qualities of each Bond actor (personality, personal moves, sense of humour, physical skills, psychology) and see how each would adapt on others missions... and still being the One and Only 007 character.

    I must be joking.

I can't be the only one who, when he heard the announcement that 007 Legends would be combining 6 Bond movies, hoped that Sean Connery, George Lazenby, Roger Moore, Timothy Dalton, Pierce Brosnan, and Daniel Craig would all be involved.

    Instead we got Timothy Watson?

And a very painful-to-play reminder of what could have been.

I have had this idea for a proper "007 Legends" kind of game, showcasing the 50+ years of 007, and have been meaning to share it for some time. The foundation of the game would be based on a sort of 5-disc collection, of which the first four would feature 5 Bond movies each, in chronological order, and the last disc featuring the three Daniel Craig Bond movies.

Each disc would be formatted exactly the same, with differing levels and such according to the movies on the disc, obviously.

The highlight of the game, aside from the single player missions (being the core of the game), would be the multiplayer; it would be extremely similiar to the multiplayer of 007 Nightfire, but updated and made even better, of course! (though it's tough to expand upon perfection, haha!)

These would be the playable maps for each of the 5 discs:

Disc One- Crab Key, Gypsy Camp, Fort Knox, Palmyra, The Disco Volante, Volcano Lair, Osato Chemicals

Disc Two- Piz Gloria, The Whyte House Willard Whyte's Oil Rig, San Monique, Scaramanga's Island, Atlantis, The Liparus

Disc Three- Drax's Space Station, St. Cyril's, Locque's Warehouse, The Monsoon Palace, Main Strike Mine, Afghan Airbase, Whitaker's Stronghold

Disc Four- Sanchez's Drug Lab, Janus Jungle Base, Stealth Ship, Carver's Printing Press, The Maiden's Tower, The Ice Palace, Graves' Plane

Disc Five- Casino Royale, Miami Airport, Hotel Perla de las Dunas, SkyFall Mansion

Along with the maps, there would be a plethora of characters to play as, both allies and villains, and much like AUF or NF, there would be AI bots- I'd probably up the count from 6 bots to 12, so as to make the battles more intense.

These characters would be playable for the maps on their respective discs (all Bond and Felix Leiter incarnations are implied)

Dr. No- Quarrel, Honey Ryder, Dr. Julius No, Professor R.J. Dent
From Russia with Love- Kerim Bey, Tatiana Romanova, Rosa Klebb, Red Grant
Goldfinger- Galore, Auric Goldfinger, Oddjob, Mr. Ling
Thunderball- Domino Derval, Emilio Largo, Fiona Volpe, Vargas
You Only Live Twice- Tiger Tanaka, Aki, Kissy Suzuki, Pleasance Blofeld, Hans
On Her Majesty's Secret Service- Tracey Bond, Marc Ange Draco, Savalas Blofeld, Irma Bunt
Diamonds Are Forever- Willard Whyte, Tiffany Case, Gray Blofeld, Mr. Wint, Mr. Kidd
Live and Let Die- Quarrel Jr., Solitaire, Dr. Kananga/Mr. Big, Tee Hee, Baron Samedi, Whisper
The Man with the Golden Gun- Lieutinant Hip, Mary Goodnight, Andrea Anders, Francsico Scaramanga, Nick Nack
The Spy Who Loved Me- Commander Carter, Major Anya Amasova, Karl Stromberg, Jaws, Naomi
Moonraker- Dr. Holly Goodhead, Hugo Drax, Jaws, Chang
For Your Eyes Only- Milos Colombo, Melina Havelock, Aristotle Kristatos, Erich Kriegler, Emile Locque
Octopussy- Vijay, Octopussy, Kamal Khan, General Orlov, Gobinda, Mishka, Grishka
A View to a Kill- Stacey Sutton, Sir Godfrey Tibbett, Max Zorin, May Day, Scarpine, Dr. Mortner
The Living Daylights- General Leonid Pushkin, Kamran Shaw, Kara Milovy, Brad Whitaker, General Georgi Koskov, Necros
License to Kill- Pam Bouvier, Lupe Lamora, Franz Sanchez, Dario, Milton Krest, Truman-Lodge, Colonel Heller
GoldenEye- Jack Wade, Valentine Zukovsky, Natalya Simonova, Alec "006" Trevelyan, Xenia Onatopp, General Ourumov, Borish Grishenko
Tomorrow Never Dies- Jack Wade, Wai Lin, Elliot Carver, Stamper, Henry Gupta
The World is not Enough- Valentine Zukovsky, Dr. Christmas Jones, Elektra King, Renard
Die Another Day- Jinx, Gustav Graves, Zao, Miranda Frost
Casino Royale- Rene Mathis, Vesper, Le Chiffre, Mr. White
Quantum of Solace- Rene Mathis, Camille, Dominic Greene, Elvis
SkyFall- Kincaid, Raoul Silva, Patrice, Severine

These villains would have certain special abilities they could use during the multiplayer matches:

Dr. No- increased melee attack damage (metal hands)
Rosa Klebb- special kick melee attack (one hit kill with the poisoned shoe blade)
Red Grant- Mauser pistol and a special melee attack (strangle enemies with the garrote wire wristwatch)
    Auric Goldfinger- gold plated revolver
Oddjob- The Hat, of course! also, increased health and melee attack damage
    Emilio Largo- speargun
Mr. Wint- silver dish with "cake bomb" inside of it (acting as a sort of plastic explosive)
Mr. Kidd- flaming shishkabobs, able to be thrown like throwing knives (one hit kill)
    Dr. Kananga- compressed air pistol
    Baron Samedi- increased health
    Francisco Scaramanga- The Golden Gun!
Jaws- increased health and melee attack damage
    Hugo Drax- The Moonraker Laser!
    Gobinda- sword (one hit kill)
May Day- increased health and melee attack damage
Necros- increased health and special strangulation attack with headphones
Brad Whitaker- automatically equipped with body armor; carries special shielded assault rifle
    Franz Sanchez- carries a machete
    Dario- carries the switchblade
Xenia Onatopp- special thigh melee attack
Stamper- increased health and melee attack damage
Renard- increased health and melee attack damage
Gustav Graves- automatically equipped with the body armor suit and able to electrocute enemies as a special melee attack

I will be posting the levels I'd envision for each movie once this initial information has had some time for most users to read it!

One game which includes all Brosnan movies + Nightfire + Everything or Nothing, Bond voiced by Brosnan (with Broz's likeness) and all the other actors to reprise their original roles.

This. Brosnan should also do a Casino Royale game to get back at Craig (ruined Goldeneye Reloaded).

I cannot be bothered to go through this whole thread, but surely it must have been pointed out that the only reason they could use Connery for FRWL was that there was no incumbent Bond actor at the time. They are obligated to always use the likeness and if possible voice of the present Bond. FRWL came out after Brosnan was sacked and before they hired Craig. Had it come out a year earlier it would have been Brosnan, a year later it would have been Craig.
  • I would love to see a Roger Moore game combining SWLM and Moonraker together.

I'm keen for a Moore game too- preferably Spy, LALD or FYEO. Unfortunately, it's unlikely to ever happen, unless there's a lengthy gap between Bond actors and we get a FRWL situation. The closest thing we could hope for is a fan-made game. Who knows, maybe I'm working on one now? ;)

Or maybe even all the Moore films combined into a game. I think that would be great. If it does happen ill only be satisfied with Roger Moores likeness and voice.

  • Being a huge Moore fan, I would love to see a Moore game, 3rd person style, I think it could really be a great idea. I love From Russia with Love and Everything or Nothing was brilliant as well, something in that vein maybe?
