Wondered how long it would take you to kick start a Top Gear thread ;-)

I missed alot of the last series, was it up to scratch?

Cheers for the heads up, TG.

BTW, welcome back or should that be welcome aboard? ;-)
  • The last season was one of the best recent seasons by far. They seem to be acting more naturally than usual. The last few seasons were when the presenters seemed to be acting more like parodies of themselves. They are finally starting to find a balance between car show/ cocking about.

Major, thanks for the welcome. It took me a while to figure out what happened to MI6. I found out through *cough*CBn*cough* though I doubt I will be posting much there. I'm starting to get a hang of new MI6. I just can't figure out how to post pictures.

Anyways, yeah, Top Gear Series 17 is underway in June, and Top Gear USA will be back on History Channel for Series 2 later this year!

I thought it was better too, most people I know thought it was boring because their was less comedy.
  • Love this show can't wait. Had a friend go a taping once, would love to do so myself.

On that bombshell, had a Bugati Veyron pass my yesterday.

I was recently introduced to Top Gear and now it's one of my favorite show. Since I don't have access to BBC America I've been watching it on NetFilx. I'm about to start on season 13.

Well I don't Topgear that much but deviras who my friend & use to member here now he is a Forum member of 3 car Magazine Evo,Autoexpress & Car Magazine. He use to be a member of Topgear & viewer of the TV show but he wrote in Car Magazine the he was fed up. Because The Show & the rest was an insult to all car lovers. That what he says.

Top Gear is hugely popular because it doesn't dwell too much on car reviews.
Most people watch it to see three middle aged blokes messing about. The show is tentatively linked by their love of cars.
@Agent7F if your friend loves cars then he could watch FinalGear, the more cultured sister of TopGear. ;-)
  • @KikNak - You mean Fifth Gear?

Top gear is my favourite tv show around, can't wait for another series :D
Plus I've met all three presenters :P :')
  • Fifth Gear isn't the 'more cultured sister', if that's what you meant. It's a cheap rip-off that recycles most of the stunts and tries to imitate the presenters. They've even got the old Stig on there, for crying out loud :P

Well season 17 started last night. Quite good. A mixture of genuine reviews, tarting about and Alice Cooper driving like a nonce (bless him). ;-)

Yes I forgot that. I think they are Bond fans, Clarkson drops references in to Bond quite often.

Seeing that Alfa being brutalised by the Marauder, that brought a tear to my eye. :-((

Either that's a typo or you've got a very unusual eye.

Well, I don't know if the show's aired in Kiwi country yet, but the last episode sure backfired on the team..

and rightfully so. I don't care for them not liking electric cars, that's their choice, but lying about it and giving them a bad name unfounded is something I don't like. Especially after capt. slow said they would be honest..

Though It has resided in comedyville too long and has lessen its opinion on cars, Top Gear is a great show and it sure is great that the US get BBC.

I don't pay license fee, we just get BBC 1 @ 2 standard, as we also get many German and belgian stations. That's what you get when you're neighbours are that close.
