Wow, I think this has been the most voters! A true cross section of MI6 users. Whilst toting up the scores, I was in the lower-ish rating of dear old GoldenEye.

    Dr No- 78.7%
    Goldfinger - 77.23%
    Skyfall - 75.4%
    Moonraker - 67.4%

There's our current rankings. The two classics from the sixties defeating 2012's young whipper-snapper, I'm glad to report. So, what of GoldenEye I hear you cry? Well -

    GoldenEye - 78.94%

Dear God, it's provisionally first! Well, I'll be blown.

And to conclude our GE discussion, time for some actual discussion!

Is it higher/lower than your own ratings?

Personal % - 74.66. Community % - 78.94. So, lower. Still I'm glad GE did so well in the community tests. I fear the rest of Brosnan's tenure will not be so kind.

What is your favourite category/element/thing in the film?

Definitely the script, it's helps anchor GoldenEye's more fantastical nature. Closely following by the action, direction, Main Bond girl and dear old Piercey.

What surprised you the most, while reading other peoples ratings?

Nothing really. I expected the film to do well. Although someone dared rating the music category higher than Barry!

What do you think of the shocking results? Feel free to comment, as I will be starting the new Bond film at the weekend.........

So GoldenEye is top, just ahead of Dr No and Goldfinger.

    Now then, to complete our trio of Golden Bond films;

The Man With The Golden Gun

    /10
    1. Direction - 6 (Hamilton does a competent job, but he loses his way in the middle third)
    2. Screenplay - 5 (for every dinner scene you have the karate debacle)
    3. Script - 7 (minus marks for the sheer ineptness of Goodnight, Hip and Pepper)
    4. Plot - 7 (although the coincidence of Scaramanga having the Solex Agitator rankles)
    5. Action - 4 (even the stand out stunt suffers from Pepper and that slide whistle)
    6. Main Villain - 10
    7. Main Bond Girl - 3 (even Ekland's game performance can't save this)
    8. Bond - 8 ( "Moore" confidence, although Moore does seem rather stilted at times)
    9. Sets - 6
    10. Music - 6 (even the Master has an off day)
    11. Cinematography - 9
    12. Fleming - 5 (the tone is terrible, but Scaramanga's back story rescues this)

    /5
    13. Supporting Cast - 2 (only for the MI6 regulars)
    14. Main Titles - 2
    15. Plausibility - 4
    16. Pace - 3
    17. Editing - 3
    18. Tilt - 3

    Overall 93/150

    Percentage: 62%

Remember the first twelve categories are out of 10, and the latter six are out of 5 ;-)

The Man With The Golden Gun

    /10
    1. Direction - 3 (I'm not a Hamilton fan, and I feel the direction is incredibly lazy here.)
    2. Screenplay - 4 (Same opinion as @royale65.)
    3. Script - 6 (They make Goodnight an idiot, Pepper is completely unnecessary, and some of Moore's one-liners here bother me.)
    4. Plot - 5 (I prefer the book's plot MUCH more than the film's. Very disappointing story with the energy crisis shoehorned in.)
    5. Action - 3 (Dull at best. The 360 jump is the best part of the movie and they ruin it with a slide whistle.)
    6. Main Villain - 9 (Scaramanga is easily the best thing about this failure of the series.)
    7. Main Bond Girl - 2 (Goodnight is one of the worst in the series.)
    8. Bond - 8 (Not Moore's best turn as Bond, but I like him better here than I do in most of the others. It's a shame the film itself is so poor.)
    9. Sets - 5 (The funhouse has never impressed me.)
    10. Music - 4 (I'll agree here, it's easily Barry's worst score. However the title track is AWFUL and forces me to take off two more points.)
    11. Cinematography - 8 (Actually decently done.)
    12. Fleming - 4 (Really screws around with the entire novel. Not impressed.)

    /5
    13. Supporting Cast - 2 (I'll agree on the MI6 regulars. Llewelyn and Lee are fantastic here. Everyone else is abysmal.)
    14. Main Titles - 2 (Binder does okay here but admittedly this is probably where it started to get a little tired.)
    15. Plausibility - 4 (Actually one of the less "weird" Bond films out of the first ten.)
    16. Pace - 3 (It's okay, I suppose it's at least consistent which is good.)
    17. Editing - 3 (No complaints but it's like the pace, there's nothing that "wows" me here.
    18. Tilt - 1 (I really get frustrated any time I try to sit through this. It could've been so much better.)

    76/150
    = 50.67%.

    Barely passes.

Well, @Baltimore_007 is top of our three, with 104/150. Then me at 93/150, then last (or first depending on your philosophical bent ;-)) is @StirredNotShaken at 76/150

Sometimes i rank this movie, sometimes Octopussy 10th or 11th place.
TMWTGG is Roger Moore Yolt for me, but i like it more then that movie. Thanks to the plot, villian, Sets, suporting cast and music. Somethings i like a bit more in Yolt, but overall the other things in this movie work better then in Yolt.

Quite. The plot is relevant, I'd say more so, today.

On average the % ratings, seem to be between 50 and 70%.

Well, thanks for voting peeps. Shall we do this thing? I think so. Drum roll please....

The Man With The Golden Gun = 60.38%

    GoldenEye - 78.94%
    Dr No- 78.7%
    Goldfinger - 77.23%
    Skyfall - 75.4%
    Moonraker - 67.4%
The Man With The Golden Gun - 60.38%

Not surprisingly, Golden Gun has come in last in our combined ratings, common complaints being the tone, humour, Pepper and Goodnight. The one true thing that almost everyone agreed on was the main villain, the iconic Chris Lee.

And to conclude our Golden Gun discussion, time for some actual discussion!

Is it higher/lower than your own ratings?

Slightly lower, but that's no surprise.

What is your favourite category/element/thing in the film?

    Chris Lee and the cinematography

What surprised you the most, while reading other peoples ratings?

I wasn't expected people to be so harsh on the film.

Ok, any thoughts out there chaps and chapettes?

Is it higher/lower than your own ratings?

I have Moonraker below it but honestly, both films are piss-poor entries in the series. They're #20 and #21 in my rankings.

What is your favourite category/element/thing in the film?

Easily Christopher Lee's Scaramanga and Moore's performance. But that's not saying much because honestly, I wouldn't put Scaramanga in my top ten villains I don't think, and Moore is just... Moore. It's not even his best turn as Bond, that was to come four films later.

What surprised you the most, while reading other peoples ratings?

People were far too kind to Barry's score. Even the people who disliked it gave it way too high a rating.

No, it sits on spot #6 for me too.

What is your favourite category/element/thing in the film?

Roger Moores excellent performance as a great interpretation as Flemings Bond and the overall quite serious style.

What surprised you the most, while reading other peoples ratings?

Well actually i thought people would loathe it more.
