The only thing I hope is that John Logan has an overall plan for it: do x number of series and then out. That will make it even stronger.

I am looking foward to this given its Bond connections. Its a shame it will be on Sky Atlantic here. Will have to wait for the Blu-ray instead.

That last video be intresting to remember for later in connect to Bond.

This tv series will be 16+ (R-rated) tv series based on that footage from the first video and that mean it be dificult to program. But mabey there can program it on a Sunday 11.00 PM on the public channel in May, June and July 2014 after Board Walk Empire S3 (I expect wil start in February or March.) finished.

Can you post the original website @Samuel001? I'd love to see the photos, the trailer looked extraordinary.

EDIT: perhaps I found them, let's see if it works like this

Mendes reveals the cast are signed for five series:

In the meantime, Neal Street are pinning their hopes on a co-production with US cable channel Showtime. A psychological horror set in Victorian London, Penny Dreadful will weave together literary characters such as Dr Frankenstein and Dorian Gray. It’s being shot in Ireland with a cast including Hollywood star Josh Harnett, Rory Kinnear, Helen McCrory and Billie Piper. The writer is three-time Oscar- nominated John Logan (Hugo, The Aviator, Gladiator), who also wrote Skyfall.

To make sure it’s properly terrifying, they’ve hired the Spanish film-maker Juan Antonio Bayona, who directed The Orphanage, a very clever take on the classic haunted-house genre.

I ask Mendes if the high-wattage line-up comes down to his excellent contacts book, but he says not. “We’re asking these people potentially to sign their lives away for five years if it’s a success. It’s a vote of confidence in the script to get stars of that calibre signing up.”

I'll just never get used to the "Brit-Speak" about TV shows... I just don't care for it, is all. Somewhat confusing. In this one area, at least, the Americanisms are superior.

PENNY DREADFUL is one, singular series -- of which the creators hope to produce at least five seasons.

    Show/program(me) = "SERIES"
Each Year New Episodes of a Series Appear = "SEASON"

Want to know why we Yanks are correct on this point?

Why do Brits call a limited multi-episode show a "mini-series". So there!

Because it is. I don't mean to cause any personal offence to Americans but it's no wonder why the rest of the world consider the general American to be so ignorant and uncultured.

    Mendes/Logan/Dalton/Green/McCrory

This will definitely tide Bond fans over till the next film comes out.

This looks really good, and not just because of Dalton. Other horror shows like The Walking Dead & American Horror Story have not interested me, even as a fan of all things horror, this has.

This looks promising, Dalton and Green, I will at least be looking forward to seeing where this goes and hoping with the talent involved it's as good as it's pedigree.

I just now read Hollywood Reporter's very positive review of the first 2 episodes.
I will have to try to watch this one somehow.

Has anyone seen anything of this yet? I actually did not read when the premiere is/was ...

Okay, I just read in an earlier post premiere was May 11th. Who has seen it? Do tell, please. :)

I watched a minute of it online, then closed out so the latest episode of 'Game of Thrones' would buffer faster, but so far, I've heard excellent things.

You're quite welcome. I'm hoping I can get around to watching the premiere at some point this week. If you beat me to it, please post your thoughts. Would love to hear what you thought of it!
