It is like Serra is vomiting in my ears.

Another good choice for worst Bond song of all time. I concur.

Heh. Oddly enough, I kind of like this one. I've never heard another soul say a good word about it, though. 'Tis a lonely lot.

    :(
I like the Experience of Love. Kinda reminds me of Peter Gabriel.

Not at all IMHO. If you're familiar, it smacks much more of Bryan Ferry, with a bit of Chris DeBurgh thrown in.

    That's an absolutey phenomenal shout.

While we're all jumping in on AWTD or DAD as the worst Bond song you have nailed it in one Thunderfinger. For a new poster you are exceptionally cultivated.

This is hands down the worst Bond song of the lot. It's like aural beige. At least AWTD has some Bondian riffs before Keys starts her demented screeching but The Experience of Love has absolutely nothing.

If you could hear paint drying this is what it would sound like.

Although I'd prefer it where it is than ruining Leon which is as close to perfect a film as you really get.

All Time High was pretty light, Moonraker's lyrics were laughable, but Another Way To Die just irritated me.
Die Another Day I actually liked.
Crowe's song wasn't nearly as bad as some say, but Lang's song was SO much superior.

i'll argue another way to die had a good tune shame it was stained with vocals

    I can agree with that.
  • Serra's Experience of Love is indeed an awful track. As soon as Goldeneye ends, I simply switch off at that point. Who needs to listen to that crap

Knight's License to Kill can also become irritating after so many listens, as is Patti LaBelle's If you asked me to, which comes at the very end

I can't. IMO, the tune is repetitive, ham-fisted and dull. There is nothing, absolutely nothing, redemptive in AWTD.

Got it in one. It has no saving graces whatsoever. No redeeming features. It's simply put, a disaster from start to finish. In retrospect, it was a fitting theme for an overall disappointing release, despite Craig's best efforts to keep it's head above water

Try thinking about it without the ohhhOh OHh oh OH WOOO. :))
  • I'd rather not think about it at all

Even the title designs were poor and lackluster and devoid of idea. Was it Kleinman involved that year ? If so, that was disappointing from his usual high standards

Spot on, Wizard. Better to have it in a film I do not care to revisit anyway.

I agree. It's ominous and a bit disjointed but following the events of Casino Royale so is Bond's world.

I've gotten to a point where I find DAD to be a really Good Bond song.
Still find AWTD kind of crappy because of the vocals though. ;)

I'm a fan of QoS and don't think AWTD is all that bad. By no means a classic and the vocals definitely needed some more intelligent treatment and production, but overall I don't mind it. I think Garbage's song is possibly the worst. Cheryl Crow's comes in a close second. Madonna's effort is just bland, but I can't bring myself to truly hate it. KD Lang and David Arnold's Surrender is one of the great unused title tracks.

I thought Adele's recent effort was average but it would have really benefited from having been integrated into Newman's score (which I thought was just weak). I really hope Mendes insists on greater collaboration between Newman and whoever pens the title track for the next one. A properly integrated score and title track is a true hall mark of a quality Bond movie and not something we'd had for years until CR.

We must agree to disagree here. I like garbage.
(I leave myself open for the obvious lampoon)

  • The World Is Not Enough theme intro is one of the very best of the last thirty years. Accompanies an overall very good release that year

Once more, the absolute worst the franchise has to offer would be Quantum of Solace and Die Another Day, with Simon's Nobody does it better and Easton's For your eyes only, not far behind. Can we put Serra's Experience of Love in here also ? That was a disaster

Please everyone stop dumping on that song; it was good!! Target Sheena instead!

I don't know anything about the band, but their title track is not bad at all, and its lyrics are among the best in the Bond catalog. As far as I know, this is the only song sung from the villain's point of view.

Thunderball's could be seen from Largo's point of view.
  • The POV in TB is 3rd person. Whether that person is commenting on Largo, Bond or both is a matter of debate.
  • Die Another Day
  • 5. Never Say Never - L. Hall (actually not half bad for an unofficial Bond flick)
    4. Another Way To Die - J. White & A. Keys (just trying to hard to make it work)
    3. Living Daylights - a-ha (doesn't fit as a Bond song)
    2. Golden Gun - Lulu (embarrassingly dated)
1.You Only Live Twice - N. Sinatra (ouch, cut the squeaky riffs!) hum, wish her Pop could have had a crack at it at some point...

Another Way to Die easily takes it for me. There are other bad ones for sure, but that one is bad on a completely new level. And in my opinion, what makes it bad is the fact that it has so much potential to be good. It's practically almost there, you can hear the great ideas. But unfortunately they never truly materialize, and instead, the whole thing implodes spectacularly.
Huh?? I need more than that mate. I hear only a good tune, two superb singers, clever writing, and an overall very good Bond song.. I just don't get the hate..

Especially given the really cool Shirley Bassey song they could have gone with instead.

Another Way to Die takes the biscuit (by far).

Anything from 1964-1989 is classic in my books.

    Garbage was garbage IMO. Truly....

Die Another Day was also a piece of trash that should have been put out with the garbage. A terrible stain on the franchise's legacy. To go from Goldfinger to this? My word.

The Experience of Love from Eric Serra that ended GE - terribly nondescript 80's sounding fodder.

Another Way to Die is very difficult to listen to & I don't like it at all, but I think it was meant to sound this way.....sort of disjointed, like a garbled, scratchy mirror version of You Know My Name. To reflect Bond's pain and confusion during the movie. Still don't like it though.

If one more person says Die Another Day was the worst song....

It will be the 200th time.
