Mendes' return in '15 or Bond 24 one year earlier but with another director?

I read a few days ago that Sam Mendes is interested and willing to helm Bond 24 but due to theatre commitments could not work on it for some time yet. This would mean a production in 2014 for release in 2015. As good as Skyfall was and as much as I enjoyed it and Sam Mendes' direction it makes me wonder if he is worth the wait, an extra year. (we haven't had the 'traditional' every two year release since the mid 1990's)
I would rather a 2014 release and let another imaginative director give it a go, such as David Fincher, Danny Boyle, Christopher Nolan, or give Martin Campbell a hat trick?

Well how was he to know, the thread title doesn't really indicate that this was being discussed and he hadn't posted in that thread before.
I think the no duplicates rule is really harsh (and inconsistent, it's fine for an admin to start an exact duplicate apparently), on this site. I think this is an intresting discussion and it deserves it's own thread.
Well you can't argue that this doesn't fit in the directors discussion, that I also linked. Plus, the whole point of me commenting was to inform him that a discussion in another thread was ongoing, so he could continue there and this will be closed.
It's the same process that's has always been done by the mods here. I gave you two threads; pick one. We don't need a third.
It does fit in there but I think this is an intresting enough debate to get it's own thread. Up to the mods I suppose.
I know, I just thought it wasn't that fair telling him to look out for duplicates when there wasn't much indication of it being discussed in that thread, that's all :)
