Daniel Craig wants Adele to sing the theme to the next Bond film after her global smash with Skyfall, The Sunday People has revealed.

According to The Sunday People, Craig thought very highly of Adele and was particularly impressed with the singer's work ethic.

The 24-year-old would be the first repeat Bond singer since Shirley Bassey sang Goldfinger, Diamonds Are Forever and Moonraker.

Star Daniel, 44, also pushed bosses at MGM to sign up Skyfall director Sam Mendes for the next film.

An MGM source said: “Daniel wants to keep the winning team. He loved Adele and wants her back.”

Daniel Craig previously told how the song moved him to tears, telling Yahoo! Movies, "I cried. From the opening bars I knew immediately, then the voice kicked in and it was exactly what I'd wanted from the beginning."

He went on to describe how he felt the song 'perfectly fitted' the on-screen action.

"It just got better and better because it fitted the movie. In fact the more of the movie we made, the more it fitted it."

  • While I loved the song, I would like to see someone else do it. I just like to see different styles when it comes to Bond songs, and Adele pretty much only has one style.
  • He cried? Really? Wow.

I wasn't much for SF but I preferred it to the other 3 or 4 Adele songs I've heard. Maybe she could have another crack at it but there are better choices imo, and I like having variety.

Lets have another rock theme next.

Come on, Daniel! Even Shirley Bassey's Bond songs were each 3 movies apart. Let somebody else take a crack at the next one.

No, no more of Adele, while the song has grown on me a bit, once was more than enough, thank you very much!

Come on, people, "a source" tells something to someone - doesn't make it true. As for Brit tabloids, they make a story out of anything - also doesn't make it true. We already knew Daniel likes Adele and thought the song was perfect for the movie - that's all old news.

Agreed on that one - you really can'rt trust the red-tops, especially the socialist The Sunday People!

I would say maybe later down the road. Back to back themes by the same artist isn't fair and cancels out the variety of having a different singer film after film. Plus, I want Michael Bublé to finally get his shot! And unlike Eve, he won't miss!!! \m/

Either him, or Muse. I still hum Supremacy more than Skyfall...

  • I actually like the idea of having Adele turn into the Bassey of this era. Give her another crack in a couple of movies.

    It's a better song I think.

Daniel himself being more of a rock person musicwise, I would think, that his first two music titles were more down his road. Liam Gallagher maybe...

I said for ages before they split up that Oasis should do a Bond theme. I reckon Noel now would be a better choice than Liam though.

In fact he wrote this hoping it would be a Bond theme.

Some of the lyrics are a bit iffy but I think overall it's a pretty good song.

I want Chris Cornell to come back, maybe with Soundgarden. YKMN is legendary and I love sound garden's live to rise.

I'm not a fan of the idea of back-to-back themes. Let someone else do it, and perhaps she could come back later on if she is still interested.
  • I also think it might be better for the sake of freshness to bring in a new talent. However, I absolutely loved Adele's SkyFall and would have no problem with her coming back some time in the future. In fact, I welcome it.

Instrumental for Bond 24 please and a song by Elton John or Leonard Cohen for the end credits. If a group: De Phazz, a earlier sugestion and if needed there can help Daniel Kleinman making the mainititle.
  • Danny has the right idea...I felt there is unfinished business with Adele...her song was good not a classic great...she knows this she also knows she has it in her and I really wouldn't mind her having another crack.

Plus I wish they would go all out on retro bond soundtrack..
  • I really loved Adel's Skyfall. But i would prefere someone eles to sing the OTS for Bond 24.

If Adele sings another, I want what @forgotmyusername aptly referred to as a "classic great". I enjoy the song Skyfall, but every time I hear it I keep listening, waiting and waiting for it to really kick into gear with powerful vocals pervading the musical accompaniment and overpowering it with the might of her voice. I know she has it in her. I understand that the somberness fits the film well, but I want more.

@0BradyM0Bondfanatic7, that's how I felt: knowing the power of her voice, 'Skyfall' was very underwhelming. I wanted to hear her belt out like she does in 'Set Fire To The Rain.'

Given that with SF being the hit that it is and Adele's contribution has not gone unnoticed I would expect that mr Craigs wishes will happen if miss Adele agrees to do an encore.
And I for one will enjoy the wailing of fanboys while they throw their tantrums on how shyte Adele is and their choices better. :))

No sure about that. Adele didn't really do (didn't do) any promotional work for the single. They just sorta released it and that was that. Had she done a bit more (I appreciate she was heavily pregnant at the time) then I might have agreed with you.

Well she can't promote the single next time, what's the trouble?

I am not sure what you are saying.

    I say:
1- with this megahit on his hands DC will get what he asks, including Adele (if she agrees to it)
2- while miss Adele did do nothing on promotion, probably due to her pregnacy, can you think what a next song would do with promotion??? Skyfall did far better than most songs from the Arnold era (that might be an explanation while there was quality increase in titlesong :D ) without any real promotional actions.

3- And I for one will enjoy the wailing of fanboys while they throw their tantrums on how shyte Adele is and their choices better. O:-)

I think Adele's contribution to the success of Skyfall was limited, that's all. The film still would have been the mega success it is if someone else did the song.

I do like the song. It's definitely top 10 for me, for sure.
  • I really don't understand why there are so many detractors to Adele's SkyFall song?? To my ears, the song was absolutely perfect. In fact, it was better than I thought it would be, and I had very high expectations. I think some may be missing the point that it fit perfectly with that particular movie. I mean, what more could you ask for? I feel some tend to confuse the difference between a great song and a great song for a particular film. And in my opinion, Adele's was definitely the latter. Even Kleinman's title sequence worked spectacularly well because of the song in large part.

Well? DC has a big influence in these sort of things now, so there could be some plausibility in it? Especially with the success of Skyfall?!
I strongly doubt, he actually said it. We know, he likes the song and Adele and IMO the rest is made up. Makes no sense to have the same singer twice in a row - Mendes is another íssue though altogether.

Well with the success of the song and the entire film i see no problem with Adele returning. The best thing they can do now is to bring back the whole team from Skyfall (perhaps bring Arnold back instead of Newman, but that's never going to happen with Mendes) and just deliver another cracking good movie!

But how so? Because the series has a history of back to back or repeating directors? So if the series had moments when the same singer was hired for two films in a row it would be fine for Adele to sing the theme for Bond 24 then?
