What's your favourite Bond trailer?

With trailers now being just as big an event as a film's release, with teasers of trailers of trailers now being put out to entice audiences - I am curious, what is everyone's favourite James Bond trailer?

GoldenEye? With the mega reveal at its opening, leading into a pulsing electric guitar rendition of the Bond theme?

Casino Royale? With its majestic choral background?

Or maybe even all the way back to Dr. No? With its old school titles and voice over?

CR for me. Absolutely. I love its build-up, the musics, the promise of a wonderful Bond in Craig. Favourite trailer for little old me.
  • Always liked the "expecting someone else" GE teaser myself.

It's a great trailer for sure, one of the best I've ever seen. I love that little bit in the middle where Le Chiffre recites the torture scene dialogue and it's intercut with scenes of Bond and Vesper. Very gripping considering its only a promotional piece.

I love that one too. The music is awesome.

    List:

Goldeneye (The Teaser was magnificent and probarly the best ever made)
Casino Royale (agian its a good teaser made me hyped to see the film plus it has lots of scenes which werent in the final movie like Bond and Vespers sex scene in the water)
Diamonds are Forever teaser (with the OHMSS music just sends goosebumps down my spine)

and Licence to Kill's One man can leave you breathless teaser
  • Without a doubt the Teaser Trailer for Casino Royale! I also like that breathless LTK teaser.

I've always loved Quantum of Solace's first trailer.

The way it builds tension with the dialogue about Quantum, and then Arnold uses the engine riff of the motorcycle to break into the fast paced cutting of the action. Always gives me goosebumps. An instance, I believe, where the trailer led on to be better than the film. Still like the film though..

    A close second in Casino's.

I don't really like the Goldeneye 'Expecting someone else' because it's kind of rude to Dalton, like he was never supposed to happen or something. But that's just an opinion.

It is a new world with new enemies, but there is still one number you can depend on.......
OMG - watching that every time gives me goosebumps. Knew that dialogue of by heart and everyone around me knew it too !

    Goldeneye.

I never thought the expecting someone else was a jab at Dalts.

Keep in mind that at the time, lots of people actually thought the series was over. New action heroes had sort of taken over. "Expecting someone else" I always thought was because of that.

The GE trailer was meant to say Bond is back, not Bond is not Dalton anymore.

I understand, just subjectively it seems a little risky. I don't see how the producers could not have seen how someone could take it how I take it. Does have a a good impact for a teaser, though.
  • Definitely the 90s Bond Series VHS trailer for me. One of the best examples of editing I've ever seen.

It could be taken the wrong way, but I don't think it was meant as a jab at Dalton. Cubby was still around when GE was coming out and he loved the guy.

When Goldeneye was coming out I was angry that Dalton had been replaced, but I didn't think the "expecting someone else" line was a jab at Dalton and I still thought the film looked cool.

    This? It's pretty good!

@Thelivingroyale re-watching the trailer, I've changed my mind. The way they hint at other franchises 'saving the world' in the opening of the trailer, I see where they were going. It's a damn good trailer.

    There you go :)
  • I think it is possible for Brosnan to be referencing Dalton without necessarily taking a "jab" at him. Kind of like Lazenby's "This never happened to the other feller" reference to Connery.

Actually, going back and watching all of Brosnan's trailers, they were a lot cheesier than I remember (as are the movies themselves) but they were still all really good. Even the Die Another Day trailer had me really excited when I first saw it, and even kind of makes me want to watch it again now, even though it's one of the worst movies in the series.

    TWINE's isn't bad either.

The opening lines: "Some men want to rule the world. Some women ask for the world. Some believe the world is theirs for the taking; but for one man, the world is not enough!"

After a six year wait, Bond was back!

Not my favourite Bond film by a long shot, but the teaser still brings a smile to my face after all this time.
    Very cool.
  • For me it's Goldeneye.

I agree, i was 13 at the time and this teaser got me so pumped i couldn't wait.
I still like it now but as someone else mentioned the Brosnan film trailers were rather cheesy. I think it was the TND trailer when he said the name's Bond...... you know the rest. Ha-ha
  • GoldenEye teaser. As much as I loved Dalton I was really let down when Brosnan lost out on making The Living Daylights do to NBC. GoldenEye was the Bond I most looked forward to and it trailers really helped fuel the fire.
  • Goldeneye trailer is the best of the series. Honorable mention to CR. I also like LALD's and Spy's trailers.
On the other hand, I didn't like the trailer of Skyfall. Too much spoilers!
