[Possible Spoilers] Should Skyfall had been done Before the Brosnan era?

I've didn't watch Skyfall yet, however i've unfortunately already known about the main part of the film which is
M's death on the ending

And i'm thinking. in Dalton's era we had Robert Brown as the Male M yet. Should have Tim made a 3rd Movie around '92 or '93, before Brosnan starts, which certainly it would be Skyfall, and then after it, on Goldeneye, we get introduced to the new M, Judi Dench? Because it would make more sense.

Anyone agree with me?

    I guess but it wouldn't have happened. First, off what are the odds of someone else coming up with this story twenty years ago? However, let's say, hypothetically, they did.

    Yes, we would have seen M die, but I don't think we would have seen as much of him throughout the film. It'd be like when Leiter was maimed and Bond went off on his own. We would have seen more of Bond and less of M and kind of doubt we'd even get the inquiry scene. Plus, it wouldn't have been as poignant because I don't think Dalton had as close of a relationship with Brown's M than Craig did with Dench's.

    So, yes, I guess it could have been done but I think it would have been a watered down version of what we got.

    Yes, a Skyfall-type film was pretty much unthinkable 20 years ago. 20 years ago, the death of M would have been the story, not what we got with Skyfall, where it just happens (sorry, Sonic, if I'm ruining too much, you really should go see the film, skip school, it's worth it).

    I'd love to do that. But if i don't make it in time, I think i'll wait for the DVD.

    It should not have been made at all. The plot was very weakly developed. A big disappontment after great films as Casino Royale and Quantum of Solace.

    No, I don't think so.
    M's passing wouldn't have worked with any of the other Ms. Dench's M was a surrogate mother figure for Bond, it wouldn't carry the same weight under other circumstances.
