A more laid back film, but still with a serious plot.
Bond not having emotional or physical issues.

Slightly more realistic action. I know many will disagree,
but I really didn't like Bond jumping and hanging on to the bottom of a lift like Spiderman.

I think I speak for everyone when I say we need to bring back the invisible Aston. Single best moment in Bond history. Wow. Powerful stuff, there. Call it 'Die Another Day 2: Jinxed Again'. Bond falls asleep wearing his virtual reality glasses, and the whole movie is him dreaming of his favourite mission- one we haven't seen yet. What a superb idea- in fact I might use it for my own fan story. ;) What do you think?

  • Q in a lab coat.
    Bond going into Q Branch's work station/lab.
Bond equipped with a gadget filled flying vehicle

That scene is no more unrealistic than the parkour chase in CR, the parachute landing in QoS, Dalton hanging from a net dangling from outside a plane in TLD or Dalton fishing for Sanchez in the PTS for LTK....the list can go on.

Won't happen. In fact, a conversation in Skyfall specific states that will not happen.

    :(

I read that as a tenuous nod to DAF?

At least Connery had a set of safety wires, and a really bad toupe in that scene!!

In FRWL Bond has a line that goes something like this: " Once, when I was with M in Tokyo, we had an interesting experience."
I think it would be quite interesting to actually see Bond and our new M out and about somewhere, having "an interesting experience" .

OHMSS remake anyone done properly with a real actor this time?
  • Additionally, I also want to see...
...Jeffrey Wright reprising his role as Felix Leiter
    ...James Bond driving a Bentley
...David Arnold or Hans Zimmer doing the score
...Daniel Kleinman doing the title sequence, with more naked lades
...the screen debut of May, Bond's housekeeper (I like their witty exchanges in the novels, especially in Thunderball), or even a glimpse of James Bond's house
...Bond ordering a dry martini "shaken, not stirred"

    - Walther P99 (keep Bond in the 21st century)
    - Modern Aston Martin (new Vanquish please) outfitted with gadgets and a decent car chase
    - Solid acting all around
    - Felix, but not played by Jeffrey Wright who played the character the exact opposite of the "traditional" Felix
    - Score by David Arnold featuring the Bond theme in the film
    - baccarat
    - vodka martinis
    - Classic plot with Bond "saving the world" (it's not cliche yet), without the extreme personal/emotional issues of the recent Craig films, but a scheme more grounded in reality than films such as Moonraker and TSWLM.
    - Gadgets (not the ridiculous Moore gadgets, but the more down-to-earth and practical gadgets of the early Connery/Dalton/Brosnan films)
    - Very good villain with an iconic and unique character played by an excellent actor (see: Sanchez, Zorin, Telly Savalas' Blofeld, Goldfinger)
    - Memorable Henchman/Henchwoman
    - gun barrel sequence
    - Decent title song. They've been hit or miss recently with "You Know My Name" being the only decent one since TWINE
    - Multiple well choreographed chase sequences (this is a given)

Maybe this could be the 2 story arc??

OHMSS remake as Bond 24 and Bond 25 as the revenge movie DAF never was.

Maybe end Bond 25 on a cliffhanger is both blofeld and Bond dead(akin to Sherlock/moriarty)

Bond 26 can then kick off with a new actor.

I rank OHMSS as the best Bond film so I have no issues if its a faithful remake, as it would bring back the back story of Bond being a widow which was always a poinient touch

I never said it was. I wasn't comparing action scenes from different movies, I was just expressing my wishes. This is a wish list thread after all.

I prefer more down to earth Bond movies, that's why I'm a fan of early Connery films, OHMSS, FYEO, TLD, CR... Parkour chase scene is the only scene I have a problem with in CR.

However, I know huge action pieces are necessary nowadays, so I realize my wish isn't coming true.

A section of the film set in Singapore. A car chase and shoot out (similar to Heat) along Orchard road, M being kidnapped (Colonel Sun) and more action for Ralph Finnes. Scenes set in the Raffles hotel and possibly a fight in the cable car which joins Sentosa island, the cable car travels from Mt Faber station and passes through a skyscraper.
Bond's protagonist a Red Grant type charactor (Michael Fashbender?).
    Keep the openly Britishness

    Gunbarrel at the beginning.
Michael Bublè on the theme song.
    David Arnold on the score.
More of Quantum, possibly ending it in Bond 25 or 26.
Then I'd like Daniel Craig to either lose some muscle or let Michael Fassbender take over the role. I think he would make for some classic Bond movies.

Oh, and I'd like Quentin Tarantino to write the script, he can cook up some amazing dialogue.
  • Bond - "Where's my Aston?"
Q - "Oh it's had it's day I'm afraid. You'll be using this Bentley Continental GT Speed."
  • First and foremost, no Daniel Craig, we need a new Bond
Second, Dench's M has to go. This was to be "let's go back to the beginning" not a Reboot. Her insertion in Goldeneye worked very well, not now.
Third is a Fleming title, Risco or Property of a Lady.
Fourth, a larger than life villian and henchman. Not the ones we're getting from the rise cycle of a washing machine.
Fifth, Miss Moneypenny needs to return. the repartee between her and Bond is missing
Sixth, they need to start looking at the Gardner or Benson stories for future project's
Seventh, establish a viable reason for Bond to still exsist in today's world, not all the Cold war stuff that ended when the Berlin wall came down. Make it real!

No Blofeld, and no Spectre. That belongs in the past. Don't reinvent it, don't bring back old villains, that would well and truly mess up the (already borked) timeline. And I hope they don't remake films or the books either. Leave them as they are. There are plenty of original tales to tell, don't remake old films.

    Please, EoN!

    As for Bond 24...

I have no specific requirements. I trust in EoN, Logan, Craig and whoever directs it to deliver the goods.

As long as the film itself is good...

We don't need a new Bond? As for the rest? Watch Skyfall and repost your thoughts?
  • Going forward, it's clear that what the Bond films need is Blofeld. Skyfall has given us the institutional setup of the old films, and the only thing missing is the larger-than-life magic of the old films, and Blofeld is the key to unlocking that 60's style classic Bond movie sparkle. This is because the existence of Blofeld and Specter, or Quantum, allow for the sort of larger-than-life aspects of Bond films to seem feasible, like the big exotic evil lairs, over the top plans of world domination, and epic climatic battles between small armies of henchmen and secret agents.

Now I'm not saying that Bond 24 should be like DAF or MR where everything seems to be a big silly Bond pantomime. Like Craig's other films Bond 24 should be rooted in plausibility. However, if Blofeld is in it, their will be a greater range of flexibility for them to push the limit on what is believable, and that will open the door to having a cool villains lair, a villainous scheme of international proportions, and an action-packed climax, all of which are things that I think Bond fans would agree are things that they would like to see in a Bond film again. Sure you can say that those things have been done and they should try new types of stories, but the problem with doing that is you get films like TWINE, and QoS. I understand that DAD is an example of why people don't want to see the return of classic Bond plot elements but I'm sure that with people like Logan, Craig, and possibly Mendes returning to construct Bond 24, they could pull it off without going overboard.

What I'm looking for in Bond 24 is a plot like TB where their is a secret plot to disrupt global security to be thwarted that will take some real, investigative spying on Bond's part. To do this he should have to work with a formal ally like Felix Lighter, as well as an illicit ally like Marc-Ange Draco and Zukovsky. Something else I've been considering is that their should be more women characters participating in the plot because that will afford more opportunities for general sexyness to be present throughout the film. This is something I feel that Craig's films have been lacking thus far, and could be improved greatly buy simply having more beautiful women present around Bond. Also for locations Bond should travel to New York City (for some investigating and a foot-chase), a place in the Caribbean (maybe where he'll visit a casino), a scandinavian country (maybe to meet up with a beautiful blond contact with whom he'll become romantically involved), China or India (to investigate a villainous lead and maybe have a car chase), and a snowy place where an action scene will take place (perhaps for the climax).

As for Blofeld's involvement, rather than having him operate through a proxy like Largo, he should be the main villain. This way Blofeld will not seem like a cowardly facilitator, but rather a brutal evil man to be reckoned with. During the film, Blofeld should be linked directly to the death of Vesper in CR, and he should kill the women ally who Bond gets close to during the movie. At the films climax Bond and a second woman ally should be held captive by Blofeld at his secret lair. After making an escape and managing to put an end to the devious plot, Bond should go toe-to-toe in a fist fight with Blofeld, and they should be fairly equally matched, altho in the end Blofeld should classically chicken out and make a harrowing escape, but not before receiving a painful scar on his face from Bond. That will set-up the opportunity for Bond 25 to be a separate film but with a continuity of emotional history between Bond and Blofeld.

No Nolan please. I don't want Bond 24 to be remembered as Nolan's Bond. Or Nolan's trilogy if he does 3 films.
I just want Zimmer, nowadays the best composer with Alberto Iglesias (Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy or The Skin I Live In: ) Any of these two would make me happy

    New York City!
    Fleming title
    Quantum returning
    A blonde bombshell bond girl
    Yes to do the theme

oh and Natalie portman in the film as well :D
  • I've posted on this thread before - but that was before having watched Skyfall lol

    So what I'd love for the next film;
    - Craig as Bond (obviously since he has 2 more in him),
    - Craig's Bond with longer hair and sideparted (as he was at the premiere but a tad longer)
    - Mendes to return as director, failing that, Ridley Scott?
    - Hans Zimmer to do the score (and stay on when Christopher Nolan hopefully takes over later in 3 movies time or something)
    - Logan to script - NOT a 2 parter, but rather 2 films depicting Quantum's rise and fall and Bond's termination of Quantum.
    - Mr White as a bad guy again and his death
    - A mention of Blofeld, he is the Vader of the Bond canon, why not reimagine him or resurrect him as has been done with Bond
    - M on ops with Bond in Tokyo
    - A rich magnate Berlusconi type politician with hired killers who fulfill his bidding
    - Amber Heard as a Bond girl
    - Malin Akerman as a Bond girl
    - Idris Elba as a Bond girl
    - Eve and Bond in therapy lol - maybe an arc for Eve wherein she manages to return to the field and helps Bond.
    - Gunbarrel at the beginning - maybe even a leaping gunbarrel i.e. Bond running into the centre and leaping, turning to shoot at the screen in the gunbarrel sequence
    - a simpler title sequence with faster music - I liked the title sequence from Skyfall and the song was great, but still love the neon tinted shadowplay of the title sequences from some of Moore's films.

This is actually from The Wolfman soundtrack and is not by Iglesias. It was used in both films though. It's by Danny Elfman. Look up the whole Wolfman soundtrack.. it's excellent.
