Big Boys Do Cry - The emotional Bond films - SPOILERS AHEAD

I,m not ashamed to admit that I shed a tear at the end of Skyfall (during the Silva interrogation scene when he explains how he was tortured and when M dies)and during Casino Royale and at the end of OHMSS. Are there others out there who've shared similar tearful moments throughout the Bond universe? I say this as a straight guy!

The scene when Vesper dies is a sad moment. And i do always get's sad when she dies and when the beautiful music starts in the background. And with great acting from Craig and Green.

Cried when you know my name came on at the cinema. Also a bit when Adeles theme came on. But you know my name had me hardcore ugly-crying #-o

To paraphrase Peter Hunt - 'The Wizard doesn't cry.'

Although have to say I was welling up when M and Vesper went.

The scene where Bond comforts Vesper in the shower always gets me, and when she dies is a sad moment too. I always get emotional when i hear the song 'We have all the time in the world, (for obvious reasons), but i also get a bit sad at the end of 'Licence To Kill' - when i hear the song 'If you asked me to' (Patti LaBelle), but thats because i know it was Dalton's last performance and the song suited his romantic side..

The last 5 mins of Skyfall. God, that was tough. Crying through sheer distraught and happiness at the same time. And a huge bit of proudness added to that.

Always cry in OHMSS and CR. Was a bit "whatever" when M slipped off the mortal coil.
  • I shed a few tears when M kicked the bucket. A very emotional scene.

I actually shed a tear or two on the second viewing of Skyfall during M's death. Apart from that I can't recall ever tearing up to a Bond movie. I came close in OHMSS but that's about it.

Never happened before, but just watched Octopussy and a little tear came when Bond goes to Vijay's body and says 'no more problems', really just hit me. Excellent delivery from Sir Roger of Moore.
Thought M's departure was quite emotional, see if it still has the same impact on second viewing - sometime soon.

I've seen it twice now - it does.

I love how they ease the sadness soon afterwards by having M leave Bond that Bulldog model.

Another thing. What did M actually die of? Was she shot at the house?
  • I never really cried during a Bond movie but the saddest moment in a Bond movie was when Tracy is murdered in OHMSS.

Yes, she was shot as she tried to distract Silva's henchmen from going for Bond.

Oh right. Incidently, that was the first time we'd ever seen M fire a gun.
  • I did not cry but was sad when Tracy was killed in OHMSS and Bond was
    distraught. Nice direction.

I thought the scene was played out perfectly and would not change any part of it.

The m death scene was the closest we'll see to a Bond- surrogate mother relationship. Would have loved to to have seen her funeral included at the end but maybe I,m just being greedy seeing as it was a near perfect Bond film IMO.

I cry at the end of every Bond movie that don't live up to my expectations. Happens a lot!

Surely not Skyfall or Casino Royale? Must be tears of joy there surely?

Nah... we're talking mostly nineties here and an occurrence in 2008.
