    Scenario 2
But if I could see it both ways, here’s my other idea…
Lazenby signs the Contract and becomes the Best Bond ever as the producers predicted!

    1. Diamonds Are Forever (1971-George Lazenby)

    2. Live and Let Die (1973-George Lazenby)

    3. The Man with the Golden Gun (1974-George Lazenby)- just think about how cool that martial arts school scene COULD have been…

    4. The Spy Who Loved Me (1977-George Lazenby)

    5. Moonraker (1979-George Lazenby)

    6. For Your Eyes Only (1981-George Lazenby)

    7. Octopussy (1983- Timothy Dalton) Seven films is a lot for ANY actor- time to welcome a younger fresh Timothy Dalton!

    8. A View to a Kill (1985- Timothy Dalton)

    9. GoldenEye (1995- Timothy Dalton) (I always prefer this- in any scenario)

Or on the other hand- Keep Lazenby for Octopussy to go up against Connery’s Never Say Never Again! How cool would THAT have been???

Wow, look what I found-- the page says it's from 1987! Perhaps my scenario is feasible after all!

    <center>232323232%7Ffp%3B%3B5%3Enu%3D3246%3E9%3C3%3E%3A8%3A%3EWSNRCG%3D35734%3B6894325nu0mrj</center>

That would have made him 48. Not out of the question I think, but I would have certainly missed Roger

At that rate, he could have stayed around for GoldenEye.

Ugh, there's a terrible thought! Lazenby in my favorite Bond movie? No, not in a million years!
  • That idea would be completely unviable anyway as George would of been 56 years old at time of production, I know Moore hung around to such an extent but here at least it never would of occured. If Lazenby had stayed on after OHMSS, I would of expected the actor to have finished around the time of Moonraker at the very latest

I think he should have at least done DAF, to make the continuation with OHMSS better, and to improve upon DAF's lacking action, and maybe also YOLT to let him do the Blofeld trilogy insetad of the disordered Connery-Lazenby-Connery. However, he should have dropped out by 1973, since it was time for Roger Moore! Another cool idea that I've thought of is to let Moore do LALD, TMWTGG, TSWLM, FYEO, and OP, but let Dalton do MR and AVTAK, because I think that Dalton could have been great in these films. And of course, keep TLD and LTK with Dalton.

Here's what it might look like:
    -YOLT (Lazenby, 1967)
    -OHMSS (Lazenby, 1969)
    -DAF (Lazenby, 1971)
    -LALD (Moore, 1973)
    -TMWTGG (Moore, 1974)
    -TSWLM (Moore, 1977)
    -FYEO (Moore, 1979)
    -OP (Moore, 1981)
    -MR (Dalton, 1983)
    -AVTAK (Dalton, 1985)
    -TLD (Dalton, 1987)
    -LTK (Dalton, 1989)
-Some other Bond movie (Dalton, 1991)
Possibly another in 1993 with Dalton, but not if it would interfere with production for GE in 1995.
  • I have no problem with Moore as Bond for his immediate appearances, it's only when we get into the early 1980s that questions need to be asked, although For Your Eyes Only was a success and Moore did very well in that, I wouldn't swap him with anyone.

Yes George should ideally have started the 1970s as Bond, Connery was evidently inappropriate by this stage but that only leaves one film for me because as stated I was happy to let Moore start out when he did, trouble is we can't change history, the films have been done and at the end of the day there's not really much anyone can do about it now but I can clearly see how you would like things to have occured

    Dr. No (1962-Cary Grant)
We all know he said he’d do it—if it was ONE film. I say they should have let him do it! He would have been good! I mean why not? Let’s just pretend they only intended to do one, just to see if it works
From Russia With Love (1963-Sean Connery)
    Goldfinger (1964-Sean Connery)
    ThunderBall (1965-Sean Connery)
You Only Live Twice (1967-Sean Connery)
Maybe since he starts one film later, he won’t have gotten bored and YOLT is much better than what we got
On Her Majesty's Secret Service (1969-George Lazenby)
    Diamonds Are Forever (1971-George Lazenby)
Live and Let Die (1973-George Lazenby)
The Man with the Golden Gun (1974-Roger Moore)
The Spy Who Loved Me (1977-Roger Moore)
    Moonraker (1979-Roger Moore)
For Your Eyes Only (1981-Roger Moore)
    Octopussy (1983-Timothy Dalton)- see below
    A View to a Kill (1985-Timothy Dalton)
    The Living Daylights (1987-Timothy Dalton)
    Licence to Kill (1989-Timothy Dalton)
The Property of a Lady (1993- Timothy Dalton)
    GoldenEye (1995-Timothy Dalton)
    Tomorrow Never Dies (1997-Pierce Brosnan)
The World is Not Enough (1999-Pierce Brosnan)
    Die Another Day (2002-Pierce Brosnan)
Everything or Nothing (2004- Pierce Brosnan)
    Casino Royale (2006-Daniel Craig)
    Quantum of Solace (2008-Daniel Craig)
    SkyFall (November 2012-Daniel Craig)

Never Say Never Again (1983- George Lazenby)
Without Connery returning, they may be more comfortable trusting Octopussy with a new Bond, and ironically enough, BOTH movies are way better for it!

Ok, here we go again, this time focusing on the scrapped 1969 film, starring Sir Roger Moore.

Ok, first five, as they are…

    Sean Connery Era

    1. Doctor No, 1962
    2. From Russia With Love, 1963
    3. Goldfinge, 1964
    4. Thunderball, 1965
    5. You Only Live Twice, 1967

    Then…

    Roger Moore Era

    6. The Man With The Golden Gun, 1969

I always wondered what would happen if Terence Young and Moore, worked together. Apparently Peter Hunt was opposed to the idea of Moore playing Bond, so we shall save him for later. The villain would be Jack Palance and the screenplay would be from Dick Maibaum and Tom Mankiewicz, focusing on the Scaramanga/Bond duel. Also this time John Barry gets to work on the music for more than three weeks!

    7. Diamonds Are Forever, 1971

Bring back Guy Hamilton, screenplay by Mankiewicz, much closer to the book, perhaps replacing the otherwise dull Spang brothers with Spectre.

    8. Live And Let Die, 1973

The same as the real version, but less blaxploitation. And less Sherriff J.W. Pepper. Sorry @DaltonCraig!

    9. Octopussy, 1975

The same, but with a “fresher” Moore. Bring in Lewis Gilbert, who directs this one, and the following two. Spy and MR are more or less the same, but without the overt humour; i.e. campy music during the drive in the desert, no double taking pigeons etc…

    10. The Spy Who Loved Me, 1977
    11. Moonraker, 1979

    Thus brings us to the end of the age of Moore. New decade, new actor;

    Timothy Dalton Era…

    12. On Her Majesty’s Secret Service, 1981
    13. For Your Eyes Only, 1983
    14. A View To A Kill, 1985
    15. The Living Daylights, 1987
    16. Licence To Kill, 1989

12-14 directed by Peter Hunt. FYEO would be a direct sequel to OHMSS, thus allowing Hunt to fulfil his vision.

15 and 16 directed by John Glen, who learned his trade at the feet of the master, thus Glen would bring a distinctive visual style to his films, his only weakness IMHO.

Unfortunately the six year hiatus still happens in this universe, thus precluding Dalton from taking over in 1994. Still, he can look back on his films with a great deal of pride. So, The Brozz can take the mantle on in the ninties…

    Brosnan Era…

    17. GoldenEye, 1995
    18. Tomorrow Never Dies, 1997
    19. The World Is Not Enough, 1999
    20. Die Another Day, 2002
    21. Everything or Nothing, 2004

They would be overhauled; concentrating on the promise established in the first half of the movie, instead of going for action and safety.

    Craig Movies…

    22. Casino Royale, 2006
    23. Quantum of Solace, 2008

QOS; there would be a finished script before the writer's strike

    A new timeline:
    Sean Connery
    Casino Royale (1962)
    Live and Let Die (1963)
    Moonraker (1965)
    Diamonds are Forever (1967)
    From Russia With Love (1969)

    George Lazenby
    Doctor No (1971)
    Goldfinger (1973)
    From A View To A Kill (1975)
    For Your Eyes Only (1977)
    Thunderball (1979)
On Her Majesty's Secret Service (1981)
    You Only Live Twice (1983)

    Timothy Dalton
The Man With The Golden Gun (1985)
The Spy Who Loved Me (1987)
    Risico (1989)
    Octopussy (1992)

    Sean Bean
    The Living Daylights (1995)
    The Hildebrand Rarity (1997)
The Property of A Lady (1999)
    Licence Renewed (2002)
    Quantum of Solace (2004)

    Daniel Craig
    Colonel Sun (2006)
    For Special Services (2008)
    The Death Collector (2010)
    Role of Honour (2012)
  • The more I've thought about it, the more I've realized I don't think I would change anything in the Bond films, but thought I'd give this another go (far less drastic than my earlier "Fleming purist" timeline).

    Sean Connery:
    Dr. No (1962)
    From Russia with Love (1963)
    Goldfinger (1964)
    Thunderball (1965)
    Moonraker (1967)

First four films all the same, but my OCD side is usually a bit (for want of a better word) agitated by OHMSS and YOLT being reversed from their literary order, and preserving said literary order is my main motivation for changing things around here. Also, as has been said by royale65, "Lee and Connery at Blades" would likely have been a great scene. At the same time, YOLT '67 formed a part of the huge cultural/stylistic diversity of the first few films, so I'm thinking of MR as a film of similar tone, with probably more locations than just England as in the novel, and a climax at a launch site in the South Pacific (probably being influenced by NightFire here).

    George Lazenby:
On Her Majesty's Secret Service (1969)
    You Only Live Twice (1971)
The Man with the Golden Gun (1973)

Not sure I would have wanted more than one or two Lazenby films, but who knows how it could have turned out? Again, OCD-ness pushes me to keep the same actor for the film version of this trilogy. Using the brainwashing plot may well have been too bold for the series at the same (and really, so might have been the concept of following a story arc for three straight films), but there it is.

    Roger Moore:
    Live and Let Die (1975)
The Spy Who Loved Me (1977)
    Diamonds Are Forever (1979)
    For Your Eyes Only (1981)
    Octopussy (1983)

First two and last two pretty much the same, with DAF taking the place of MR. Ridiculous as Bond going into space seems, it's one of "those things" that's just so unique for the series (and one might say "iconic") that I would never really want to get rid of it, but Bond keeps his feet planted firmly on Earth for these adventures. DAF here is a fun picture that uses more of the novel's elements than the film did, and possibly concludes with an assault on the villain's Nevada desert compound (not unlike that on the oil rig, but with a different setting and a better showdown with the antagonist).

    From a View to a Kill (1985)

(So it can actually be said that the full title gets used....) Honestly, I'm not sure about having Moore or Dalton in this. Yes, it might have been nice to get another one from Dalton, but I also really like the "final outing" idea accompanying Moore's presence (e.g., the trailers' "Has James Bond finally met his match?"). That said, I loved Moore's performance in the film and I don't mind his age so much (I know not everyone feels the same), so I wouldn't rule him out.

    Timothy Dalton:
    The Living Daylights (1987)
    Licence to Kill (1989)

Same, really. I like them as they are.

    Pierce Brosnan:
    GoldenEye (1995)
    Tomorrow Never Dies (1997)
The World Is Not Enough (1999)
    Die Another Day (2002)

Not too far off from reality, partly since I feel like the over-reliance on "traditional elements" and certain other less savory aspects of these films (in terms of tone, Bond's persona at times, OTT-ness, etc.) led to the reboot. Still, perhaps with different actresses (looking at Monica Bellucci in TND and somebody who's not Denise Richards for TWINE).

    Daniel Craig:
    Casino Royale (2006)
    Quantum of Solace (2008)
    Skyfall (2012)

About the same, maybe-maybe-not fixing QOS's problems. I'm wanting to avoid getting TOO perfectionist in revising history here; it's just not realistic.

As has been said, "the untold future"....

As I promised, WAY less drastic than the somewhat Fleming-ized timeline.

I would have loved for the series to have gone this way

    Sean Connery 1962-1971

    Dr. No (1962)
    From Russia With Love (1963)
    Goldfinger (1964)
    Thunderball (1965)

I would keep the first 4 Bond films the same as the original series because i like the way they were made and the order that they came out in.

On Her Majestys Secret Service (1967)
I would keep it the same way the original movie was made just replace George for Sean and make it 2 years earlier then before.

    You Only Live Twice (1969)
I would keep the plot a lot like the book because i thought the books plot was more realistic then the movies. Mainly because i don't see how the villain can make a lair inside of a volcano. The film would end not like the book however instead Blofeld escapes and before Bond blows up the castle thus taking us into our next film DAF. Also in my YOLT film Bond doesnt loses his memory instead he just gets the girl Kissy at the end. But still knowing that Blofeld is still alive.

    Diamonds Are Forever (1971)
The movie would be exactly the same as the orginal movie. It picks up just exactly how it did with Bonds search for Blofeld

    Roger Moore 1973-1985

I would not have George Lazenby cast as Bond at all in my series after Sean comes Roger right away. I loved Roger Moore's original 7 movies he did no matter what the haters say.

    Live and Let Die (1973)
The Man with the Golden Gun (1974)
The Spy Who Loved Me (1977)
    Moonraker (1979)
    For Your Eyes Only (1981)
    Octopussy (1983)
    A View To A Kill (1985)

Like i said above i liked Roger Moores 7 Bond films he did even tho people hated him as Bond in his last few films. I didn't hate him i liked the way they were and i would leave them as they were.

    Timothy Dalton 1987-1992

I would only have Dalton do a trilogy in in his Bond run.

    The Living Daylights (1987)
    Licence to Kill (1989)

I would keep these 2 films the same because i liked how they were in the original series.

    Icebreaker (1992)
I read the plot to this book and i thought it was very interesting and thought it would make for an amazing movie

    Pierce Brosnan 1995-2004

    Goldeneye (1995)
Thought this movie was great from start to finish. Wouldn't change a thing about it. Great way from Pierce to start his run as Bond.

    Tomorrow Never Dies (1997)
This movie was not one of my favorites but the plot i thought was very realistic and interesting so i kept it as Brosnans 2nd Bond Film.

The World Is Not Enough (1999)
This is my favorite Bond film I would not change it at all. I love TWINE. This was also the first Bond film i ever saw.

    Agent Under Fire (2002)
First off let me say that i liked Die Another Day better then Tomorrow Never Dies but the plot for Die Another Day i thought was just so unrealistic i just had to get rid of it. Now I thought the game Agent Under Fire had such an interesting storyline to it i thought would make an amazing movie. The game came out in 2001 so i would have the film come out in 2002. It would be the first Bond movie to be adapted from a video game. I would have Halle Berry and Rosamund Pike in this movie but i would switch them around. I would have Rosamund Pike play the Bond good girl CIA Agent Zoe Nightshade and I would have Halle Berry play the villain Malprave. I would have Stephen Lang play the henchman Nigel Bloch. I think if they followed the plot from the game and had those actors i named play those parts i think we could of had a great movie.

    Everything or Nothing (2004)
To me the biggest mistake in the Bond franchise was not having a 5th Pierce Brosnan movie. The producers should have made a deal with Pierce to make a 5th Bond movie before Die Another Day started production. They could have made a good deal with him and then they could have started pre production for a 5th Brosnan Bond film during post production for Die Another Day for a release in November 2004. The 5th film could and should have been Everything or Nothing that would have made a great film for Pierce to end his bond career on. So i decided in my Bond series that Everything or Nothing is the 5th and final Pierce Brosnan Bond film. I would keep the plot exactly the same and have Willem Defoe, Heidi Klum, and Shannon Elizabeth be their characters from the game in the film. I would not however have Jaws and Mya in this film. Richard Kiel would have been in his 60s for this film and would have been to old for Jaws so i would replace him with another big henchmen. Also i don't like Mya but i liked her role in Everything or Nothing so i would keep the character that she played in the game but i wouldn't use Mya for the film. After the films release the game Everything or Nothing would come out as well.

    Daniel Craig 2006-2012

Just like in the real series i would reboot the franchise.

    Casino Royale (2006)
    Quantum of Solace (2008)

I loved the story told between these 2 films. Casino Royale was a great movie and it followed a lot of the plot from the book. QOS was a good continuation of the story from CR but was too short and way too much action. Im only keeping it cause it continued the story from CR.

    High Time To Kill (2010)
First off pre production for a Bond film in 2010 should have started during post production in QOS. The producers should have gotten over their exhaustion and started working on a Bond film for 2010. The film in my series we be the novel High Time To Kill by Raymond Benson. I actually read the book and thought it was great and would make for a good movie. If they would have made a Bond film for 2010 they probably could have helped MGM with is Bankruptcy problems by brining in a good income to MGM from the movie.

    Skyfall (2012)
I believe this movie is gonna be one of the best cant wait to see it.

    Sean Connery:
Dr. No (1962) - Dir: Terence Young
From Russia With Love (1963) - Dir: Terence Young
Goldfinger (1964) - Dir: Guy Hamilton
    Moonraker (1965)- Dir: Terence Young
Thunderball (1967) - Dir: Terence Young

First 3 films and Thunderball are the same, the 4th is closer to the novel, keeping in touch with Drax's Nazi roots.

    George Lazenby:
On Her Majesty's Secret Service (1969) - Dir: Peter Hunt
You Only Live Twice (1971) - Dir: Peter Hunt
The Man With the Golden Gun (1973) - Dir: Guy Hamilton
Live And Let Die (1974) - Dir: Peter Hunt

YOLT, TMWTGG, and LALD are more serious films and more in line with the novels. OHMSS stays as is.

    Roger Moore:
Diamonds Are Forever (1977) - Dir: Lewis Gilbert
The Spy Who Loved Me (1979) - Dir: Guy Hamilton
For Your Eyes Only (1981) - Dir: John Glen
Octopussy (1983) - Dir: John Glen

SirRog brings a comedic edge to serious films that the series needed. He leaves with a good heart in the series.

    Timothy Dalton:
From A View To A Kill (1985) - Dir: Lewis Gilbert
The Living Daylights (1987) - Dir: John Glen
Licence Revoked (1989) - Dir: Peter Hunt
The Property Of A Lady (1992) - Dir: John Glen

Brings a cool, serious edge to Bond. FAVTAK is much different from what it is right now. Licence Revoked was essentially LTK but with a different title. TPOAL is based on the Bond 17 script we all know.

    Pierce Brosnan:
GoldenEye (1995) - Dir: Martin Campbell
Tomorrow Never Lies (1997) - Dir: Martin Campbell
The World Is Not Enough (1999) - Dir: John Glen
NightFire (2002) - Dir: John Glen

GE stays the same but TND loses all its campiness because of Martin Campbell. TWINE is different because it loses all its soap opera drama and NightFire is similar to the game, rather than the piece of trash that is DAD.

    Daniel Craig:
Casino Royale (2006) - Dir: Martin Campbell
Quantum of Solace (2008) - Dir: Marc Forster
Risico (2010) - Dir: Marc Forster
Skyfall (2012) - Dir: Sam Mendes

First two films stay relatively the same (except the script for QOS is improved and there was no writer's strike and no shaky cam). Risico is basically Blood Stone but a few changes and Skyfall will be known later.

I've always wondered what it would look like if the movies went in order of the novels and each Bond actor we've had kept the same number of movies they did and in the same years. Here's what it might have been like:

    Sean Connery
    1. Casino Royale (1962)
    2. Live and Let Die (1963)
    3. Moonraker (1964)
    4. Diamonds Are Forever (1965)
    5. From Russia with Love (1967)
    6. Dr. No (1969)

    George Lazenby
    7. Goldfinger (1971)

    Roger Moore
    8. For Your Eyes Only (1973)
    9. Thunderball (1974)
    10. The Spy Who Loved Me (1977)
    11. On Her Majesty's Secret Service (1979)
    12. You Only Live Twice (1981)
    13. The Man with the Golden Gun (1983)
    14. Octopussy (1985)

    Timothy Dalton
    15. The Living Daylights (1987)

After this of course, they'd just continue in the order we already have them.

Good heavens, Moore in OHMSS? He has his high points but I cannot see him in that story.

JFK singling out FRWL probably pushed that film up in the timeline. I wonder what would have happened to the order if he was seen reading OHMSS!

    The Sean Connery Years (1962 - 67)

    01) Dr. No
    02) From Russia With Love
    03) Goldfinger
    04) Thunderball
    - Better editing.
    05) You Only Live Twice

    The George Lazenby Years (1969 - 71)

    06) On Her Majesty's Secret Service
    07) Diamonds Are Forever
    - George Lazenby and Telly Savalas return whilst a new actress takes over as Imra Bunt (Due to the last one sadly passing away beforehand).
    - Bond kills Blofield.
    - The film is a proper follow up to OHMSS, more grit and no campiness.
    - Peter Hunt directs this film, thus his final contribution to the Bond series.

    The Roger Moore Years (1973 - 85)

    08) Live And Let Die
    09) The Man With Golden Gun
    - More like the book but leaving out the part where Bond gets brainwashed and tries to kill M.
    - No JW Pepper.
    10) The Spy Who Loved Me
    - Jaws lives like in the film but doesn't come back.
    11) Moonraker
    - The film follows the book, albeit with a late 1970's setting.
    12) For Your Eyes Only
    - The film now opens up to the St. George exploding due to the events that happened in the DAF written above.
    - Roger is forced to actually boot the car off of the cliff.
    13) Octopussy
    14) From A View To A Kill
    - Replace Grace Jones with Mr. T as the film's lackey (That way there'll be no cringe-filled bed scenes).

    The Timothy Dalton Years (1987 - 94)

    15) The Living Daylights
    16) Licence To Kill
    - Edit the film so it becomes the first 12 rated Bond film.
    17) Colonel Sun
    - Released in November 1992.
    18) GoldenEye
    - No chasing after plane off of cliff stunt.

    The Pierce Brosnan Years (1996 - 2003)

    19) Tomorrow Never Lies
    - Martin Campbell directs this one as well due to being given a higher rise in pay.
    - Second half more like the first with Jonathan Pryce's character not changing personality in the second half.
    20) The World Is Not Enough
    - Released in 1999, due to MGW feeling exhausted from making three demanding entries in the series.
    - The scene in where Zukovsky is spared from dying is kept in the film.
    - Bond's injury is more focussed on.
    21) Agent Under Fire
    - Film released in 2001.
    - Jeri Ryan plays Zoe Nightshade.
    - Zukovsky returns but is not so lucky to cheat death a third time (If you count the factory shootout from the last film).
    22) Nightfire

The Daniel Craig Years (2006 -)

    23) Casino Royale
    24) Quantum Of Solace
    - Released in October 2009, due to production being held by the Writer's Strike.
    25) Skyfall

My timeline on page 1 has now been updated to include my cast for Symphony Of The Damned (2004). It's the 3rd of 5 films to star James Purefoy as Bond in my timeline.

I would keep everything the same except Laz does DAF and it is less campy and more like the book, Dalton comes in early with AVTAK and does his 4th in '91 and that's that. Pretty simple.

Conney and Moore did one too many each. Still the best, though.
  • Haven't done one of these in a while :)

    Sean Connery (1962 - 1969) (age: 32-39)
Dr. No (1962) - Dir: Terrence Young
From Russia With Love (1963) - Dir: Terrence Young
Goldfinger (1964) - Dir: Guy Hamilton
Thunderball (1965) - Dir: Terrence Young
First 4 films are the same ones we already got
On Her Majesty's Secret Service (1967) - Roughly the same film we got but with a non-bored, enthusiastic Sean Connery. Dir: Peter Hunt
You Only Live Twice (1969) - More in line with the novel with a depressed Bond sent on a suicide mission where he goes against Blofeld in the volcano lair rather than the Suicide garden. Dir: Peter Hunt

    Roger Moore (1971 - 1979) (age: 43-52)
Diamonds Are Forever (1971) - Similar one to the film we got but with Sir Rog and less cheese. Add the Spang Bros as villains rather than Blofeld. Dir: Terrence Young
The Man With The Golden Gun (1973) - Just like the film we got. Dir: Guy Hamilton
Moonraker (1975) - More in line with the book, with Moore and Lee at Blades! Dir: Peter Hunt
Live And Let Die (1977) - Similar to the film with a stronger plot. Dir: John Glen
The Spy Who Loved Me (1979) - Just like what we got. Let Moore leave at a high note. Dir: Lewis Gilbert

    Timothy Dalton (1981 - 1991) (age: 37-47)
For Your Eyes Only (1981) - Like the film we got, but with Dalton. Dir: John Glen
Octopussy (1983) - Like FYEO. Dir: Lewis Gilbert
From A View To A Kill (1985) - No May Day, a more complex Max Zorin, and a dryly humorous Bond. Dir: John Glen
The Living Daylights (1987) - Exactly the film we were given. Dir: John Glen
Licence Revoked (1989) - Exactly the film we got, but less gritty and more humor and slight gadgetry. Dir: Peter Hunt
The Property of A Lady (1991) - Bond goes against a madman from China in order to obtain significant intelligence and prevent WW3. Dir: John Glen

    Pierce Brosnan (1994 - 2004) (age: 41-51)
GoldenEye (1994) - Same film as the one we got. Dir: Martin Campbell
Tomorrow Never Lies (1997) - Similar film but gives more realism. Dir: Martin Campbell
Death Waits for No Man (1999) - Basically TWINE but a much more character driven film rather than just action. Dir: John Glen
Beyond the Ice (2002) - DAD without the crappy 2nd half... or Halle Barry. New 2nd half involves a man who will use cyber terrorism in order to destroy all power and make a very rich man. Title's use is based on freezing all power's use. Dir: Michael Apted
Everything or Nothing (2004) - What we got from the game is now in a movie. Dir: Michael Apted

    Daniel Craig (2006 - present) (age: 38-?)
Casino Royale (2006) - Same film we were given. Dir: Martin Campbell
Quantum of Solace (2008) - More menacing villains, a better plotline showing the organization seizing all the water from numerous countries, and no shaky cam or Bourne elements. With humor! Dir: Martin Campbell
Blood Stone (2010) - The game is now a movie! Dir: Marc Foster
Skyfall (2012) - Bond will return. Dir: Sam Mendes

    My Bond timeline
(from another thread but kindly directed here to continue this discussion - some very interesting ideas on this thread!)

So; with just a note to the Bond film history -
I can't see the point in me saying who I would have preferred to play Bond, or a preferred order of films etc The history of Bond is rich and full of creativity. Full of great movies, and some not so great movies lol
    Each fan has their own preferences as to different ways they would have liked the Bond franchise to go at several points in it's history - a few of mine being;
    A) Lazenby (along with director of OHMSS) would have done another 1 or 2 films.
    B) Connery would have come back and done something within canon rather than Kevin McClory's dire NSNA.
    C) Moore would have stopped at Octopussy.
    D) Dalton would have got a 3rd film.
    E) The scriptwriters on Brosnan's latter Bonds would have been better.
    F) QOS would have been delayed until the writers strike was over etc
I can type all the above in frustration - but what good would it do - other than to vent my frustrations in vein lol

    What I have found fun and interesting is mapping out how I hope Bond's future timeline in the coming years will go;

+ 2012; Skyfall is somewhat controversial but a huge success. Craig announces he's on for 2 more Bonds. Sam Mendes announces he is also eager to work on the next Bond film with Craig and the rest of the team. Fans rejoice.
+ 2014; Daniel Craig does another Bond film with Sam Mendes of the same calibre as Skyfall entitled Devil May Care and starring Craig's wife Rachel Weisz.
+ 2017; Craig does his 'last' Bond film - 'Bond 25' - with Christopher Nolan taking over the helm for the film. Nolan stresses that he is a huge fan, but he wants to carry on the Bond tradition and not give the Bond franchise the same treatment as his Dark Knight trilogy.
+ 2019; Nolan releases his 2nd Bond film entitled Risico. The film sees Tom Hardy take up the role of Bond as a more brutish physical brooding presence like Connery and Lazenby. The film also features an ending sequence that shows the return of Blofeld as reimagined by Nolan. Prior to the films release there is an outcry from some reactionary fans, and the press who claim Nolan is turning the Bond franchise into Austin Powers, and that Tom Hardy will be wrong for the role. Hardy in turn astounds critics when he shows acting prowess hitherto unexposed in previous films.
+ 2021; Nolan does a 3rd final Bond film, with Tom Hardy as Bond yet again. The film is is called Mad Dogs and shows Bond out for revenge against Blofeld and his brethren after his lover is killed. Hardy is subsequently nominated for an Oscar.
+ 2023; The Bond franchise is as popular as it has ever been as Nolan departs. However, Hardy also announces he is departing the franchise (typecasting issues). Unable to figure out who to cast as the new Bond, but extremely eager to put a new film out regardless whilst Bond is so massively popular - Broccoli and Wilson ask Daniel Craig back for one film. Danny Boyle comes on board to direct. The film is entitled Bloodstone and features Craig playing an older Bond, who is still physically very fit (like Charles Bronson - the actor) who is recalled by MI6 and his licence renewed.
+ 2024 onwards; Henry Cavill/Michael Fassbender/an as yet unknown take over as Bond.

I'm not really changing anything but re arranging the movies to fit in a more chronologically.

    DN
    GF
    FRWL
    TB
    YOLT
    DAF
    OHMSS

(Since DAF completely ignores OHMSS, Instead it would ignore YOLT and Bond hunts Blofeld down but fails to kill him and he gets away and goes back to being bald in OHMSS.)

    LALD
    TMWTGG
    TSWLM
    MR
    FYEO

(Blofeld practically disappears after OHMSS and Bond never forgets him until Blofeld tries to have him killed when he visits Tracy's grave, Bond gets control of the Helicopter and Kills Blofeld once and for all in FYEO.)

    AVTAK
    OP

(Arranged to make Moore end on a high note and AVTAK after FYEO the emotional stress left him looking older and after that he took a vacation and looked better for OP. ;) )

    GE (PTS only)
    TLD
    LTK

    (Nothing Changes.)

    DAD
    GE
    TND
    TWINE

(After Licence to Kill, Bond is sent on a new mission to kill Colonel Moon and blah blah blah He wins and Bond gets his Psych Evaluation after DAD since he was tortured for over a year and the rest is reorganized so Pierce ends on a high note.)

    CR
    QoS
    SF

    (nothing changes.)

So in the end, if you re arrange the movies in this way, it feels more fluid chronologically and some parts match up better and it makes some of the actors end on high notes.
  • Just summarising my revised future timeline of the Bond franchise;
    (Directors and prospective actors)

    Sam Mendes and Daniel Craig
    2012 - Skyfall
    2014 - Devil May Care
    Danny Boyle and Daniel Craig
    2016 - BloodStone
    Christopher Nolan and Tom Hardy
    2018 - Risico
    2020 - Bravura
    Matthew Vaugn and Michael Fassbender
    2022 - Mad Dogs
    2024 - Carte Blanche
