Damn, well done, Nackers - for some random reason, I saw Taffin the other day and, thus, immediately knew the answer as well... =D>

    Consider the following Bond films:
    FRWL
    DAF
    AVTAK
    LTK
    DAD

From each of these films I'm after one particular cast member and by putting these five cast members together they share a common bond.

What is that common bond (no pun intended)?

    I'll try and be clearer.

I'm after the names of 5 different actors, one from each of the films. They all have speaking roles, mainly of a substantial nature and are amongst the 10 highest billed in their particular films. All of the actors share a common bond outside of the Bond films.

I'll give this 24 hours and then reveal the answer (although a check of the cast lists for these 5 films - FRWL, DAF, AVTAK, LTK and DAD may see the answer jump out).

Is this "common bond" something that will be more apparent to UK viewers than US viewers?

I'm guessing something along the lines that the five actors appeared in a popular movie or TV show together, but I'm not noticing the connection (BTW, I am a yank).

Here's a shot in the dark:

    Daniela Bianchi
    Charles Gray
    Willoughby Gray
    Robert Brown
    Colin Salmon

Their surnames are all a colour: White, Gray, Gray, Brown, and Salmon!

Blimey Nick, good effort. Not what I want but you're thinking.
The five I want all have or had..alternative careers, of a similar nature. I'm giving it away now!!

    Is it singing?

    FRWL - Lotte Lenya
    DAF - Jimmy Dean
    AVTAK - Grace Jones
    LTK - Wayne Newton
    DAD - Madonna

They've all had a singing career as well as an acting one?

TA-DAAAAA. Benny's the man. All successful singers/recording artists. Over to you

    :-D

Lotte Lenya was married to the great German songwriter Kurt Weill. She was famous for singing his songs such as Mac The Knife.

Jimmy Dean was a popular Country singer.

Grace 'Pull up to the bumber baybeeeee' Jones.

Wayne Newton is Mr Las Vegas. Say cheese.

    Madonna is...Madonna.

Thanks Nackers, the clue really helped I must say. ;-)
    Okay new question:

The Brosnan era Bond films have two connections to the TV series "Seinfeld".
    Can you name them?

    Excuse the Interruption SAUNDERS,

Did you ever cover SAVILE ROW, London?

Connery references it in " DR. NO."

FELIX CIA counterpart (Jack Lord - Hawaii 5-O ) asks him a question.

    What was the question?

    B-)

    Thank you @Benny

When and how many times did Timothy Dalton turn down the role of James Bond?
    1) 1968-Dalton turned down the role saying he didn't want to be the first post-Connery Bond actor.

    2) Late 1970s/early 1980s-There was discussion of Moore not returning and Dalton was considered. Not sure if it was MR or FYEO. Around this time he guest starred as a James Bond-type character on "Charlie's Angels".

    3) 1994-Dalton was sent the script for GE while working on the miniseries "Scarlett" and turned it down, officially retiring from the role of 007.

Was it 1970 for DAF after Lazenby left the role but before Connery returned?

Didnt he actually have to initally turn it down in 86 when he was offered the role for LTK after moore retired, due to other acting commitments. The role was then offered to Brosnan but who then in the end couldn't take it due to the fact that NBC decided to do another season of Remington Steele and by the time that was all done and dusted Dalton was then free of his other acting commitments and could take on the role ?

I would add "allegedly" to How many times did Dalton turn down Bond.

Since PrinceKamalKhan made the majority of the answer, it's on to him.

What is James Bond's birthday in the rebooted series?
  • John Pearson says it's November 11th 1920, but I don't remember anything being mentioned in the rebooted series.

Not in the movies, that's for sure. But maybe in the official site. However, that goes against the rules in the first post : "the questions should all be able to be answered from just watching the films"

It's Craig's birthday I believe: 2nd March 1968. Though as said, this information isn't available from the films.
