Directed by David Yates
The Yates era starts here and for his first HP entry I almost got the impression that I was watching an incomplete film. It's the adaption of a very long book yet the film doesn't take its time and glosses over the story fairly quick. I'd say a less economical approach to its runtime would have been better here. Nevertheless, the climax at the Ministry is phenomenal it must be said, perhaps the best one in the series.
Of note is also the introduction of the likeable Luna Lovegood, while there's also a rather ill-advised change to Cho Chang's part in the story.
Overall a film that is just too rushed for its own good, but it does have a strong climax.
