Even George Michael's Older is totally a Bond theme.

Yes, agreed. I just had a listen to Strangest Thing again, and with a more orchestral production I think that could totally be a Bond song.

Two more days till LLL’s BF announcement,
    I’m guessing the following titles:
The Ipcress File 60th anniversary edition.
The Godfather Coda 35th anniversary edition.
AVTAK & GE announcement in December.

  • I have a sneaky feeling we’ll hear a Thanksgiving announcement and it won’t be 5 days to Alaska 😉

ps - if they can now strip out speech and sfx for film music, could they tack the Octopussy casino music onto a future soundtrack? FYEO perhaps?

I'd say the chances of them adding a track by John Barry to a score for a totally different film by a totally different composer are pretty much nil.

May I ask what makes you think Ipcress? Have there been rumours?

It’s just a guess, nothing more. It isn’t based on any rumors or inside information.
It’s more a personal wish to have one of Barry’s greatest scores get an expanded, remastered release to celebrate this milestone anniversary.

Ipcress and the chase would be grails for me to if they were expanded.
  • James Bond Music Facebook Group has today posted the following:

The La La Land Black Friday releases are announced at 9 am PST/ 5pm GMT tomorrow, 26th November. Apparently 3 releases in the batch. Could another Bond score be included? We'll know soon enough.

Which version ? Paul Robeson, Stewart Granger/Deborah Kerr, or Richard Chamberlain/Sharon Stone ?
  • Bugger! December announcement again like Octopussy, Moonraker and Live & Let Die then…

Well I can't deny I'm a bit disappointed, AVTAK is the one I've been holding out for- I love TB and OHMSS and all that but I do kind of have a softer spot for later Barry. Kind of surprising they haven't put a Bond in there as I'm sure they knew everyone was expecting one (and I don't just mean Bond fans on here), but maybe they are keeping 007 as a separate release as they know folks will go for it.
I may well go for KSM as it is fantastic fun, although I kind of worry an extended one will get a bit tiring to listen to!

Not now. Maybe later? I don't think all of LaLaLand's Bond releases are anniversary releases.
  • Apparently four other titles were due to be announced but clearance/sign off did not arrive in time (but may come by early New Year).

I’m going to tweet Jeff Bezos to tell him to pull his finger out

I'm fairly sure since they started the non-Arnolds they have been anniversary ones, but that didn't stop LTK releasing the year after its 35th!

Okay, where did you see that? I see there's a podcast called Soundtrack Spotlight which has an interview about these but I haven't listened yet.
  • Apparently at the event where these releases were announced they said they were due to be a further 4 titles. Normally LaLa Land Bond releases are around 8am here in the UK on X, FB and by email. This was 5pm UK time as there was an event somewhere. Follow the James Bond Music Group on FB for more details….

I reckon those podcast episodes I mentioned earlier in the thread are a good indication there might still be more Bond on the horizon.

OHMSS was conspicuously not billed as an anniversary release.

As for LtK, I’m pretty sure Mr. Bulk said something in one of the numerous podcasts I’ve been listening to recently about that one being delayed by the clearance sign-off.

LLLR themselves explained about the titles expecting approval at the FSM board.

A little disappointed by lack of Bond but I'll always be happy for more Jerry Goldsmith.
