TB has certainly come a long way since its VHS release in presentation and editing though some errors are unfixable lol

Watching Goldfinger on 4k and it’s fantastic, but one gripe is Tilly Masterson is the worst written and acted part in the entire series - “Let me go, you’re breaking my back!”

I'm watching GOLDFINGER on the old 1999 SE DVD. Honor Blackman's birthday was yesterday. The gunbarrel was poorly framed here, but I do like the color timing.
I wonder if the masters used for the new 4K editions will have a DVD/Blu-ray release? I have yet to purchase a 4K player.

Into Miami............my honeymoon this year was in Florida and the hotel reminded me of this film. A retro early 60's resort. I had a wonderful time.
Now I'm comparing copies- Blu-ray and Connery collection DVD.........
My television has been completely recalibrated...........and I have a much crisper picture.
Based on sound alone I'm sticking with the Connery collection DVD-mono track.
Looks reasonably close to the blu-ray.

My favorite Connery "Bond, James Bond" sequence. Must be the blue terry cloth.

Suddenly I'm at the Aston Martin chase. This never fails to enthrall me.

Lowery removed the model plane wires.
    I liked the wires.
The clock in Pussy's bathroom is the same clock Bond stares at during the rack scene in Shrublands.

Pussy's Flying Circus. Caron Gardner is one of the pilots.

I had to pop in the old SE DVD again. I needed to see the wires. Are the wires present in the new 4K?

Right on his face. Bond gets his ass kicked by Pussy. Great moment.

My wife is doing her hair. It's kind of cut like Pussy's and a similar shade of blonde now. She's been styling it like Marilyn's and Lana Turner's lately.
She gave me a Bond haircut this afternoon. I stopped cutting my hair like Daniel Craig's years ago and am back to Connery's classic style. :D
    Mint julep. Great scene here.
Fans tend to dish on this Bond due to it's locations, but I love that it's set in Kentucky.

Late in the summer of '85 my Dad's band played a gig at a house party. The guy that owned the house knew I was a Bond fan and had a VHS player. He asked which Bond movie I wanted to see, and I told him GOLDFINGER. I had only seen it heavily edited on ABC. Hs teenage daughter took me to three local video stores and we ended up coming away with OCTOPUSSY. I watched it twice that afternoon. That November my Dad purchased a new RCA 2000 Color track television and a VHS player. The next day we purchased a rental copy of OCTOPUSSY for $20. I watched it again twice that week. That Friday night we popped into a Tower Records that had a video department and lo and behold there was my coveted GOLDFINGER. It was our first video rental. I finally got to see the PTS and the rest of the film unedited. It was great!
Getting to the end here as Bond is attempting to defuse the bomb. Great stuff.

Here we go...........I get to see more wires. I can attest when I saw this in 35mm in the cinema the wires were very visible.

    Nice one, as always @ToTheRight
I was planning to do FRWL next on here, but I'm mulling over getting those new 4K tapes of Connerys!!! I've upgraded so many times. Thing is, I dont want all of them, so that rules out the set, so I'm waiting for them to be released separately! FRWL and especially TB are on my wishlist!

    Thanks, @Mathis1.
I'd have to upgrade to a 4K player to get the new Connery set. From what I'm hearing the new masters have better flesh tones but an overall darker picture. The Atmos audio tracks aren't sounding too promising either.
On the other hand, I'm pretty tired of the Lowery versions. The don't really look much like the cinematic prints I've seen on the big screen.

Goldfinger in 4K is a revelation.
