    Not sure if it will get a limited theater release, but I sure hope so, along with Criterion physical media treatment like del Toro’s Pinocchio received. So excited for this movie, del Toro is one of my favorites in the business!

    2016's SHIN GODZILLA is going to be re-released to US theaters on August 14. And while I don't know if this will be a general or limited release (more likely), I do know where I'll be on that day! :D

    For those of you in the New York City area, the Film Forum will be having a Kurosawa retrospective from Friday, July 18 to Thursday, July 31. The films to be screened:
    THRONE OF BLOOD, STRAY DOG, HIGH AND LOW, THE HIDDEN FORTRESS, IKIRU, YOJIMBO, and SANJURO and RASHOMON* are all 4K restorations (except RASHOMON).

    I'm really eager to see IKIRU and HIGH AND LOW (especially given the upcoming "reimagining" by Spike Lee - "Highest 2 Lowest").

    Saw High And Low at Metrograph, stunning film. Excited for Lee's, too. I'll check some of these out for sure when they're playing.

    This falls into The Fall Guy remake category for me, I may watch it if randomly appears on TV.

    I love the original The Running Man the tone was perfect for me.

    Yeah, don’t have much interest in that remake. The Arnie original is amazing, and nothing I saw in that trailer was particularly interesting. No offense to Edgar Wright - he’s a talented director.

    As a fan of the original and to a lesser degree Book of Secrets, I’ve been waiting for it for a long time and hope it’ll be good. It’ll be an awkward release though in the current political climate if it has a similar tone.

    I am a big fan of the sword and sorcery genre many of the films can be hokey though good fun. For some reason I still have not watched Solomon Kane, I am pretty sure I have it on DVD somewhere.

    I want to like this movie but I haven't heard anything funny in the trailers yet besides the OJ joke which was amusing.
