Need to up the contrast but otherwise they're cool. Like I said, I'd rather have a full 4K set if anything, but I'm not rushing or needing these right now.

Apparently for them to do more 4k James bond releases more they want to see how this Sean Connery set sells before doing the other Bonds

I was hoping the rest were inevitable. I guess now I just hope their expectations aren’t unfairly high and that’s used as an excuse to not give us all the other films in 4K.

It took four years between 2008-2012 for all of Bond to be available on blu-ray. We may see a similar process over time. If we’re ever to see a 25 film set of the original Eon films I think that will happen on the year the new Bond film comes out.

Looks like the Connery 4k box sets are starting to arrive. Stay tuned for reviews!

I'm anxious to see what people have to say. Ideally, 4K disc editions of every Bond film would be the definitive, final way to own the movies physically, but we need to make sure nothing got too messed up first as it sometimes happens.

Could these be victims to AI tampering as well? I hope not, but the Cameron 4K releases have had me nervous about this.

That's one potential issue (although on that note I must say that the Cameron 4Ks weren't ruined for me because of that), and I'm also wary about any potential censorship, given this happened to the Fleming novels not too long ago. If it's optional, then it's no big deal, but I believe in the importance of preserving art as it's originally made.

I doubt we’ll see censorship like with the novels. For many reasons films have generally been better preserved and presented in their original forms. If anything is actually done, they only go as far as putting a disclaimer at the beginning reminding viewers that it’s a product of its time.

It’s too bad that when it comes to novels, that sense of preservation is not what’s in mind by many publishers.

As someone with probably around 2,500 DVDs and Blu-rays in my shelf, at least 80 per cent of which are BD, I'm not rooting for streaming. But I'm not tempted to switch to 4K either, as I don't believe any of those formats has a future. Even now, it is hard to find a Blu-ray player that you can buy. 3D has gone down the drain completely. I'll be happy if my Sony BD player keeps up long enough that there may still be a product than can replace it. While I am firmly on the side of those who like a "physical" copy of a movie, we must face that those times are over. Investing into 4K is a waste of money, as - I admit - investing into BDs and DVDs has also become over the years.

For awhile I stayed away from 4K, but eventually got into it due to certain remasters only turning up in 4K without any blu-ray counterparts. For example, the recent 4K Terminator came out with the original mono sound mix included, which has not seen the light of day since the old 2001 DVD. There’s no blu-ray reissue, so if you want that authentic 1980s sound mix on something better than DVD you can only get it on 4K.

Because of that I only have select films in 4K. Most of my collection is still 1080p blu and will likely stay that way.

Should be screen grabs up soon at Bluray.com as some have received their copies early. Hopefully the new transfer and sound mix is great!

They added too much artificial grain to my taste. But many scenes - at first glance - have better color than what Lowry could come up with.

Yes, same here. I resisted 4K, but then my last blu player died and as stores were phasing out home video, I got a good deal on an LG player last summer and am also only replacing the films that have made a noted improvement or are definitive.

I’ve been reading mostly positive thoughts about these so far, luckily. The most interesting thing I read is that one of the new audio tracks for TB has a different line when Bond escapes Largo’s sharks.

If that’s correct, then that means we’ll also get the different music cue that Barry wrote for the credits, rather than reusing the DN recording. That’ll be the first time it’s been on home video since VHS/LaserDisc.

The positive reviews and lovely looking screenshots have been quite the relief. Looking forward to rewatching these when my set arrives.

The inconsistencies in the grading of these UHD's are horrendous.

I wonder if the current 4K films on Itunes/Apple TV will be updated to the new transfer? :-?

Most likely. It happened with the Craig films once the 4K discs came out.

I’ll wait for a sale myself, but I’m looking forward to getting this. Regarding individual releases or a box set of all 25, I don’t feel like either is particularly likely honestly.

It's so unfair these are not available in my region. I have nowhere to stream them.

Sorry to hear that, well with digital ‘ownership’ they could take them off the platform any time. Which is my worry with buying them digitally.
