    "Keeping the British end up!"
    Love the end theme!
'SPY' had certainly upped things production wise, and it IS enjoyable, but I still place it mid tier for Rogers films!

Always amuses, the last title card saying
'James Bond will return in For Your Eyes Only'
I wonder if it had, would Lewis Gilbert and the same crew, and how different would it have been to the 1981 movie?

Well, probably no Maggie in it in '79.

Rog looks deadly in his uniform. Great shot of the helicopter landing!

Of all the Bonds, Moore carried off the naval uniform best IMO.

Brosnan the worst. Something just seemed off with his appearance..

A bit late here, but excellent write up, @Mathis1!

Right now I have FROM RUSSIA WITH LOVE playing.
Gypsy camp sequence- completely removed when this aired on ABC. Didn't get to see it until we got our first VHS player.

The girl fight.........I love Bond's disapproving look.

Anita Ekberg. I love Connery's intensity during this scene.

Unless I make this a Bondathon night, this is my last Bond movie viewed while I'm in my 40s. I turn the big 5-0 tomorrow.

    Bond meets Grant.

Bond ordering grilled soul. I love it. Nothing else on the plate except lemon.

Time to extend you a more formal congratulations on reaching the 5-0 mark. =D>

And FRWL is an excellent choice to celebrate with. I can image Roger Thornhill and Eve Kendall in the next car!

Thanks, @Dwayne. I might watch that film soon, too. This has been an excellent viewing of this superb Bond adventure. I barely commented this time as I'm enthralled here.

Thanks for the birthday wishes, guys!

I'm back with THUNDERBALL. Upgraded my Blu-ray player and yet I chose the DVD. I really liked the color timing on this DVD and the sound and picture are superior on this player.

Mono track this time for accuracy, and the television picture is set to STANDARD.

The titles look and sound great.
Largo remains one of my favorite villains.

Domino remains my favorite Bond girl, and the one who most resembles my soon to be wife. Less than a month to go and we tie the knot. In fact we got our marriage licence this week. :)

Here we go Shrublands.....I love these scenes.
As I prep for the big day I need some Bond inspiration. She's wearing a vintage wedding dress and I have a grey vintage suit. A little oversized, for me, but that's alright. It has that old Hollywood vibe.
The rack sequence always makes me laugh.

The great Paul Stassino! He's in a ton of SAINT episodes.

I paused for a second as Bond looks out the window to examine Connery's taper. I need a Bond haircut for the big day. As my better half studied cosmetology, never again will I sit in a barber's chair. She doesn't want anyone else touching my hair...............I really love that. :)
Connery has a great look in THUNDERBALL.

The underwater scenes are amazing. I love Stassino's death scene.

I was eight when I first watched this one on television. The gunbarrel had been cut from that airing, so when NSNA came out a few weeks later, I thought maybe not all the Bonds included the trademark.

Switching to the Blu-ray during the double O meeting..........

........hmmm..........it's slightly darker and the volume level isn't as hot...............it is a bit crisper..........back to the DVD................damn.

Aside from the image being not quite as crisp I'd say this DVD is brighter and louder than the blu- ray. Was a different source used for this transfer? I wonder.

I like Connery's brown suit during the M sequence.

The DTS audio track omits that great guitar Bond theme lick during the encounter with Domino.......hence the reason I'm in the mono version.

One of my favorite casino sequences. This is superb.

I'm really looking at the clothes and haircuts on this viewing. I pause once again while Bond dances with Domino to examine Connery's taper.
Before the COVID lockdown, my now sadly departed barber showed me how to do my own taper.
It's a little tricky, but I got pretty good at it.

I really like Rik Van Nutter as Leiter...........and we have one of my fave Q scenes.

Bond must've been wearing those shoes under his flippers. Kind of like Superman wearing his boots under his Clark Kent loafers.
