Okay, this isn't unreleased Bond music, but what the hell. Today I give you my cover of the Bond theme I had mentioned a couple of months ago. The James Bond Theme ("Quartz" Cover) is inspired by the Watch Theme of the GoldenEye 007 video game (that is, the music that plays when you pause the game).

If you like it, you can download it here:

I love the hints of the theme song; it's what I had hoped the score to the film would be like.

Cool. It was fun to add those touches. I also used a bit of Shanghai Drive from Skyfall.

Edit: And I finally got to use that cimbalom I had. Love the timbre.

Today's track is another virtual instruments reconstruction: Yearning for James, from The Living Daylights. Music heard at the end of the film, when Kara misses seeing Bond at her concert (that could've been another title for the track - Kara Misses Bond).

The second track is my own creation. I thought the theme was too good to be so short.

About a month ago, the YouTube user who originally uploaded the videos of the Sound of 007 concert, uploaded a new, edited video of the concert. The OHMSS theme, which originally had its beginning missing, now includes it, but the transition between the beginning and the rest of the track is very awkward. I wanted to fix that, so I did. You can download the fixed track below:

On Her Majesty's Secret Service (The Sound of 007 version) (fixed intro):
    https://mega.nz/file/FBpnxKTb#0HpiuqFb6Ky4C9-TVYmv7zPTg7YW0faiTHJLPU2uNrI

I think this could very well be my favorite arrangement of OHMSS. Obviously inspired by the 1972 Barry arrangement to some extent, but with stronger, more driving percussion and a faster beat. Pity that it's not available in higher quality.

There's a Bond trailer in which the narrator says "more excitement, more thrills, more spills!"

Tomorrow you're getting the background music to that, if you know what I mean.

    These are all great :)
I wonder if it's related to his Shaken & Stirred arrangement. He used his version of YOLT from that for the concert.

    Thank you.

That one seems different to me.

I'm not a big fan of that arrangement. I find it grating.

In terms of the singers I would say Natacha Atlas was the one I enjoyed the most. Then Björk, then Celeste. Not crazy about any of these performances.

If you have some basic audio editing skills, you can also combine instrument tracks and hear how they sound together. For example, I put this together in a couple of minutes.

Hell, you could even create remixes.

Also, this track means a lot to me. Back in 2010 or 2011, someone over at the CommanderBond.net forums did his version of it with virtual instruments. That's how I got more interested in these unreleased tracks and remaking them.

Edit: Almost forgot. I didn't know about this until the other day, but the Tritsch-Tratsch-Polka recording heard in the film is by Herbert von Karajan and the Berlin Philharmonic. From 1976. You can hear it here:

Thanks so much for both of these. Your work with the Bond music has been awesome. Do you have any plans to do any more tracks?

You're welcome, and thanks for the compliment.

I have no plans to do further Bond music at the moment, but the door is always open.

Not on the same level at all as mattjoes' amazing work, but for a bit of fun here's a VHS which has fallen through from another dimension where Cubby played it safe and just kept calling Shirley :)

@mtm - Still very much enjoying this alternate 'what if' version of All Time High! Don't suppose you have access to the original music file? Would love to add to the Octopussy playlist :)

I have AVTAK, which is pretty nightmareish!

These aren't AI by the way; she did an album of covers but with horrendous backing tracks.

@mtm I have listened to the album - as you suggest, great voice but awful instrumentals! AVTAK sounds super interesting one way or the other. Any chance you can share?!

I was listening to the Bond Back In Action album the other day and noticed that one of the OHMSS suites has the tremolo strings missing from the start of 'Escape From Piz Gloria' on the original soundtrack. As per many of Nic Raine's orchestrations, the tempo is too fast, so I slowed it down and added it to the album track from the original OST to create a 'film version'. It's subtle, but some of you may like it for your collections:

Escape From Piz Gloria (Film Version)

Whilst on OHMSS, I also created the Car Chase cue when Tracey and Bond are evading Irma Bunt. I've never been quite satisfied by the edits doing the rounds of this (particularly the final verse), so I did my own, which was more complex than I thought it would be:

    Car Chase

And finally I edited the main theme as you hear it in the titles:

On Her Majesty's Secret Service (Main Title)

Again, this has been done by many fans in the past, but I wanted to create my own version with seamless edits of the repeating refrain at the end. Whilst making the track I noticed how bad the original edit is on the OST - have a listen at the 2.19 mark, when the brass abruptly drop out and there's a noticeable gap before the descending 4 note pattern!

I finally managed to get this (in my opinion) essential cue of Spectre in clean shape. For the first part, I extracted the audio from the Blu-Ray, using selected channels. The second part I just took from the instrumental track which was luckily provided in the soundtrack album.

Thanks for the great cue, i never understood why this track (film version) isn't on the official score
