Which composer should score the soundtrack for BOND 26?

For the soundtrack for BOND 26 the first choice is David Arnold. But I would also like to see Thomas Newman come back.

Hans Zimmer did well in No Time To Die but it was not what he expected.

    First choice would be Arnold.

    Zimmer produced some OK stuff but with Zimmer you don't get him completely, and the second half of NTTD is not as good as the first half soundtrack wise.

    I’d have Newman back as I like his SF score (and to a lesser extent, SP, but the new stuff he wrote for that is stellar).

    Outside those, someone who is willing to do both the title song and the score, and weave them both, is probably more important than an established composer.

    If that is a priority, it disqualifies Newman.

    Hans Zimmer was a lot better then i expect it going to be. Biggest problem was re-use of We Have All The Time In World, 2 tracks are not released on Soundtrack cd who is avaible in cardboard.

    And you can say something about music track who sound a transformers but not so bad as in QOS boat chase or some music music from DAD or CR.

    Steven Price, Craig Armstrong or Alexandre Desplat . I sugest Desplat for Harry Potter 7 & 8 before there ask him and at sime time i consider him for Bond. This must be somewhere in 2010 or so, now mabey even more logic choose after a German composer.

  • It’s a boring answer and I’m 99% sure they won’t use him, but I’d love for David Arnold to come back as well since I feel he only really hit his stride with his two Craig efforts. He’s the closest we’ve come to modern John Barry on the series and Barry’s sound was so important to the identity. Like Thomas Newman’s stuff is *fine* , good even, but a lot of it is not really what I’m looking for in a Bond soundtrack. Less wallpaper scores and more in-your-face themes! Casino Royale in particular represented a lot of what I’d like to see (hear) for Bond musically.

    But I’m sure there are other composers out there who would do a solid job. I had low expectations for Zimmer but NTTD’s score ended up being quite solid.

    +1. Arnold and Giacchino are my #1 and #2 choices. I would be okay with Desplat or John Powell as well.

    Newman came with Mendes (and left with him as well)

    If it wasn't for Mendes, Arnold would have logically carried on doing the films (B. Broccoli loved his music)

    I didn't mind Newman's Bond scores at all though.

    He's the trendy boy at the moment - but after the mess that was Tenet - a definite no from me - he should stick to being the new Zimmer for Nolan.

    100% supportive of 'Daniel Pemberton' for the next one - but it won't be him. Not completely against some of the other choices such as Powell (although he's RPC along with Zimmer), Desplat or Giacchino. There is no way I'd ever want Newman back again, Arnold might be more interesting having having had a bit of a break. The one thing I will say is that they *really* need to come up with a new orchestration/rendition of the Bond theme - things feel very stale with that arrangement of 'The Name's Bond' being wheeled out in all of the Daniel Craig movies... time for a shake up!

    Hated Newman's scores, wasn't overly impressed with Zimmer either.

    There is only one man for the job - Arnold!

    I would announce Zimmer & Marr very early for Bond 26, because to come up with what they did for NTTD within that short time was impressive, even if it could have been better. But with Zimmer and Marr again, the guitars are certain in the score. I would like Arnold back as well, but I don't want to live in false hope, because it's really looking like EON want to move on from him, because they went for Zimmer after letting go of Romer.

    I wouldn't say that precludes him from ever returning. It's like saying there's no way Campbell will do another Bond film after GE because he didn't return for TND.

    I must say once EON parted ways with Romer, I was licking my lips, waiting for EON to announce Arnold. But when they announced Zimmer, I was still very happy. But part of me was now thinking EON might be done with Arnold, because almost everyone thought Arnold would be the one replacing Romer. Of course, we don't know if they didn't really want him back, but if he doesn't score Bond 26, it increases the thought that EON might be done with Arnold....sadly.

    Yes, I would love to hear what Trent Reznor & Atticus Ross would do to a Bond score. Maybe if Bond 26 is a Techno-Thriller. But I think we can at least guess that it's going to be an electronic score. Maybe if David Fincher directs Bond 26, their involvement would be certain.

    Yeah. On paper, they seem like an odd choice. But it's tracks like those below, that makes me think they can pull it off. Although, it depends on the Bond film's plot/direction. I think Reznor & Ross would only work if the Bond film is a techno-thriller or cyber-thriller, where the villain is a tech guy and most of the film's location would be corporate buildings, trains, skyscrapers, etc. Not that the film is going to be imperiously outlandish, but those are the kind of things that suits Ross and Reznor's music...I think.

    Yeah. Justin Hurwitz. The track The Landing from First Man sounds very Barry. The whole score has a Bond feel to it too.

    Justin Hurwitz. And that was a stunning score, for sure. Numerous beautiful cues.
