I agree in so far as GoldenEye isn’t the best Bond game. It might sound a little unfair, but the technology that came in with the PS2/GC/XBX generation, allowed the games to blur the lines between the games and films. EON and NF are my favourites, though there is no denying just how influential GE was, not just to Bond games, but the gaming industry at large.

That’s just it. I have a lot of very fond memories of GE64, but it was more influential than it was a great game or anything else.

Nothing announced afaik. But these things only usually have 2-3 days lead in.

Yes it does. I’m thinking that the rights to Goldeneye 007 are the new legal battle, like Spectre was. I wish we would get something official about the remake. Voice acting, new characters and levels would be great. Alas, we wait for the day, for now.

To be fair, the whole "to be announced in the next few weeks" was only speculation to begin with, and this seems to only be further speculation on what may have happened. If it is indeed true that the current affairs of Russia/Ukraine have put the game on hold, then that seems less of a rights thing and more a temporary delay. For all we know there were no concrete plans to announce it any sooner than later this year anyways. The trademark extension is far more promising.

I really wish that someone would put a bunch of the Bond games into a giant game package, like RARE Replay. I know there are many legal battles over the different game companies and consoles, but it would be a interesting game to wish for. Here are my choices for the games to include:

The Duel, Goldeneye 007, James Bond 007, Tomorrow Never Dies, The World Is Not Enough, 007 Racing, James Bond 007 in Agent Under Fire, Nightfire, Everything or Nothing, Goldeneye Rogue Agent, From Russia With Love, Quantum of Solace, BloodStone and Goldeneye Reloaded.

I didn’t include the pre The Duel, as there’s only a few objectives to complete. Wishful thinking, I know.

    Yeah .. disappointing showing .

At this rate I would take a remaster of James Bond the duel

Hell I would take a remaster of goldeneye rogue agent

Ok wait maybe I am not that desperate

I would rather no Bond, that a Remaster of GE:RA. It had an intriguing idea, that was poorly executed.

So bizarre. The game has essentially been confirmed via leaks for a while now and still a no-show. Simply makes no sense.

I think they should make a James Bond collection of past games like Rare Replay (where GE would be technically) or Sega Classics. I hope they do conflict or deny it sooner rather than later.
  • If EA acquired the 007 licence again, I would love a remaster or full blown remake of Agent Under Fire, Nightfire and Everything or Nothing.

Something ? Being the 25th anniversary and all, maybe there is some hope yet this summer for a reveal

Maybe a proper announcement in August for the 25th Anniversary of the game for a release in October for the franchise's 60th. Two birds with one stone. Sometimes with leaks it's hard not to get carried away with hype, speculation, and then disappointment when the expected doesn't happen. I think we can be sure it's coming and probably all on a timeline that was decided long ago.

I am surprised there has not been any new news about Bond video games so far. It would be nice to hear which systems will Project 007 be on. GoldenEye Remaster should have been officially announced by now. Agent 64 Spies Never Die should be releasing across the board not just PC only. In the meantime if you wanna play Bond games or any spy game from yesterday gotta keep those old systems.

Project 007 will release on both 9th gen consoles, that much we know for certain. 8th gen consoles is where the question lies. And to be honest, I would be very surprised if it got a release on 8th gen consoles. And I say this as someone who has yet moved onto 9 gen gaming. The PS4 is safe up until 2024, after that, it's future is uncertain. On saying that, the PS5 shortage is still with us, and likely to last for the rest of 2022. I hope that it will get a PS4 release, as we went the whole of 8th gen without a single Bond game.

Using Sniper Elite 5 as an example, as that is the only game in recent memory that I have actively followed it's development (developer uploads on their YT channel). Rebellion announced Sniper Elite 5 back in March 2019. But with it being so early in development, they had nothing to show, not even a trailer, just "It's happening." Fast forward to December 2021, and they release the reveal trailer. Now it's worth keeping in mind, that they also had other games in various stages of development, that they would have been working on. Plus, Rebellion isn't a AAA developer. 5 months later, and it's released. Project 007 was announced back in November 2020. Now I would hope that some time this year, we will start to get a flow of information, even if it isn't gameplay, to give us an idea of what exactly we are in for.

I admire your optimism. Due to the long period of silence from IOI after the initial announcement, I’m beginning to worry the project might end up dead in the water.

That is a possibility. Has anyone tried to reach out IOI online?

Given that they just announced a major hire for the game a week ago, I think we're still good.

There is a Nintendo Direct today at 2pm, focusing on third party games.

Is today finally the day? Fingers crossed!

Yeah its strange how silent things have been since then when they announce the game was it like fall of 2020? Maybe they are waiting till a new bond is announced to make a character model of.

Something I do want to discuss it has come to my attention that batman had a ton of games that almost happened from 2015-2022 including

    Arkham beyond
    An Arkham origins sequel
    A Batman and robin game

    Etc

WB passed on all of them I wonder how many bond game proposals we got before IOInteractive got the rights

I know of one that many pass off as a hoax but I am not convinced and that is Telltale 007 Solstice

I know there were other independent companies talking about the license (their names escape me) I wonder how far any of them actually got

As for Solstice I think had it happened it would of been fine not amazing and not the earth shattering box office breaking game Project 007 I feel will be but it would of been nice
