Threads disappearing

Yesterday and today, I tried to find the old thread "Bond Films by...", where members could post a list of Bond movies by presidents, prime ministers, sport champions, etc, etc. I can't find it anymore. So, has it been deleted ? Or did I search with the wrong words ? Because I wanted to add something to one of my posts there.

Try the same search again, but this time use Google :

    MI6 Community, Bond films by...

    Hopefully that helps.
    Threads are never deleted

That was one of mine. Gone. Kind of by mistake.

Ah! That explains it. I couldn't remember who had started it. Thought it was Barry maybe but then I couldn't see it in his topics list.

Steven Seagal set up an account. Steven Seagal saw the thread. Steven Seagal didn't like it and kicked it out.

Steven Seagal appears to have invaded this forum, much like the drug dealers invaded his neighborhood in Marked for Death, or the terrorists invaded the boat in Under Siege, or toxic waste invaded the mountains in Fire Down Below.

Anyway, I was discussing the disappearance of threads in this other thread I created. Check it out:

All joking aside, threads don't get deleted as long as they are 'legit' and by that I mean that they are not the product of a spambot trying to sell us erection pills. Sometimes the original poster or a mod (usually operating at the request of the OP) changes a thread's title. Sometimes, duplicate threads are merged together. Some threads go dormant from lack of popularity; they then get buried under other threads and become tough to find. Lastly, accidents do happen, though we can promise that they are exceptionally rare.

I was genuinely taken in by that. I'm so gullible. That's a good one, @mattjoes! :))

As a solution to the disappeared thread may I suggest that someone starts a new "Bond Films by...." thread? Maybe @Birdleson could recreate it for us?

We all have our shortcomings. We just didn't get to mine yet.

Well, here's page one of the "Bond Films By..." thread:
    https://web.archive.org/web/20201125220630/https://www.mi6community.com/discussion/10974/bond-films-by

If another thread is created, some of the lists could be copied from that page.

Chuck Norris eats threads for breakfast, especially really long ones with a lot of big words in them.

What does it take. To change the essence of a thread.

That's pure poetry and too good for this thread! 😀
