Number 1 for me. Awesome transition from PTS and wonderful use of titles and colors.
    Binder at his best.

It's quite mesmerising. I think this one made my top 5. The ripply credits must have been pretty innovative back then.

I'm in the minority here with ranking it at #11. It's still fantastic, I just have my favorites is all.

No. 6 for me. Its clean, simple and clear. And doesn't deviate from the underwater theme. Babes, bubbles, and beautiful colour! No fuss! Nice!

    Number three for me.

Without conducting a poll, I think that the title sequence from TB is the one that most non or casual fans think of when they picture a Bond film’s titles. It is iconic.

Right on track for me at number 3.
It's a brilliant sequence that is clearly hard to beat.

I put it second, but it could easily have been first.
  • Had this just behind From Russia with Love's and not far outside my top 10. It's another classic. Great use of colors and really delivers on the underwater theme. Tom Jones' song is perfectly matched to the visuals with the swelling bubbles that rise up.

Who is the winner, GE or CR? I prefer the more classic one, GE. But I love them both. My gold and silver medals.

I love both of those, but gave the gold to CR due to its originality.

I had all four title designers in my top five. Did anyone else?

Nope. Top three are Kleinman and 4-5 are Binder for me.

As far as the overall competition is concerned...was there ever any doubt that these would be the final two?

No Binder in my top5...4 times Kleinman and Brownjohn at #5. But TB is defintely a good choice for the top5, too.

I think I have tested your patience long enough.

    Our silver medal goes to:

    GOLDENEYE
    Main title sequence designed by
    DANIEL KLEINMAN

    ge_c.jpg?k=75acc8cf12

A clear fan favourite, everyone listed GE in the top 10, 9th being its lowest score.

GE acquired four gold medals, two silvers and five bronzes.

This second place finish is the best ranking for the Brosnan era in any of these games so far.

In total GE’s main title sequence obtained 147 points.

Which brings us to our winner, and gold medalist:

    CASINO ROYALE
    Main title sequence designed by
    DANIEL KLEINMAN

    casino_royale_contact-0-1080-0-0.jpg?k=7b0f9f2dcc

Switching back to Daniel after DAD’s Danny, Kleinman takes a different approach for CR’s titles and it certainly payed off.

Only one member ranked CR’s titles outside the top 10, giving it a single 13th place.

All else was a triumph though, with eight gold medals and three silver medals more than half of the participants ranked this one in the top 2.

In total CR’s main title sequence acquired 149 points, edging out GE with two points.

CR’s title sequence victory marks the first winner that does not come out of a Lazenby or Dalton film, giving it the only triumph so far for a long-serving Bond actor.

    Our title sequence ranking:

    1. CR (Kleinman)
    2. GE (Kleinman)
    3. TB (Binder)
    4. GF (Brownjohn)
    5. TSWLM (Binder)
    6. OHMSS (Binder)
    7. SF (Kleinman)
    8. FRWL (Brownjohn)
    9. DN (Binder)
    10. NTTD (Kleinman)
    11. YOLT (Binder)
    12. LALD (Binder)
    13. QOS (MK12)
    14. DAF (Binder)
    15. FYEO (Binder)
    16. DAD (Kleinman)
    17. AVTAK (Binder)
    18. TWINE (Kleinman)
    19. TND (Kleinman)
    20. SP (Kleinman)
    21. TLD (Binder)
    22. OP (Binder)
    23. TMWTGG (Binder)
    24. LTK (Binder)
    25. MR (Binder)
    26. CR67 (Williams)
    27. NSNA (unkown)

This ranking left me shaken not stirred!

But GE over CR, I liked those statues and the cold war Russian atmosphere of it, and it shown us about Janus the two face without spoiling something from the film.
CR spoiled it to me when they shown Green Vesper's face on the title sequence knowing at the start that she will betray Bond, and I also didn't liked the computerized 'Bond-007' something towards the end.

    It's a good ranking nonetheless.
Thank you @GoldenGun for this. 😊

I was going to be happy either way. Two phenomenal achievements, both are excellent sequences.

As usual, @GoldenGun, it's been a lot of fun so thank you very much.

And I'm already looking forward to the next one. ;-)

Very close to mine with CR at #1 and GE at #3. Both are simply marvelous and CR's is one of the most unique and visionary title sequences of the entire series. I'm happy it took first place.

As always, thanks so much for running this game, @GoldenGun. I'm looking forward to the next round already too.

I had CR at 13 and GE at 4, for somewhat pedantic reasons. Goldeneye may have been number one were it not for the golden eye imagery--a warning for Kleinman's future literalism. But it's otherwise fantastic, and a perfect update to Binder's style.

CR had a number of cornball elements--oh look, Vesper is the Queen of Hearts, how very clever. And there's a seven card, oh hang on, bullet holes, now it says 007! Meh. It also looks a bit like a Flash animation in places.

I had CR at #6 and GE at #9. Both fantastic sequences although I still prefer Binder's early work.
Another fun and much appreciated game from @GoldenGun - many thanks!
I'm ready for the hench(wo)men ranking game ;)

Even just a couple years ago I'd have expected GoldenEye to take this on these forums, and even now I had only moved to a feeling of "it could go either way."

Very pleased that the tide has taken this minor shift.

I expected GE (my favourite titles) to win but both are awesome. I remember that I called the CR titles being a bit odd after the first viewing. It was completely different and I needed a few rewatches to realize how great it is.

The only real issue I have is the low rankings of Kleinman's other three Brosnan entries. I think that they're all stellar.
