Remember last year's news story about the Bond submarine spotted on the Isle of Wight car ferry?
https://onthewight.com/james-bond-submarine-finds-new-home-on-the-isle-of-wight/

Turns out it was destined for conversion to a holiday rent on a glamping site:

(I may already have made a booking for my birthday in September. Bet it rains.)

Is that where they put hot rods in something something so that something happens and then something explodes and -- sigh!, is this where they put hot rods in something?

I know where you're coming from. It's been a while since I've seen it too. I'm sad to say that's the case for most of the Bond films to be honest. I could do with taking a refresher course on the whole series. I'm bad at making time for the things I love unfortunately.

This is a great idea though and we finally found out where that sub was headed!

It looks kind of small to me. Nothing I'd expect from the Great Russian Federation set on conquering (or else annihilating) the world.

The submarine out in that field is far away...

Now there's a thought to keep me awake at night. I'll set up some mines so she can't get in.

I wonder what its worth now since they have converted it? Increased or decreased to a Bond collector? Let alone their initial out lay?

I'm surprised Bond in Motion didn't want something like that. Better preserve it and put it to use than have it rusting away somewhere, I suppose.

It's doing better than this one, which got painted yellow :(

I wonder if that’s not the same one! They say they painted it yellow, but it’s clearly a load of oil drums they’re painting :D

The temptation to try and replicate that scene where Bond and Renard give each other a really aggressive hug would be very high.

I always think the rods they're putting into the reactor look suspiciously like scaled-up ballpoint refills, so maybe I'd take some of them.

The thing is do you have a pen that is big enough to hold them?

That's the second biggest pen I've ever seen!

I looked up some photos of the Chatham one to get a sense of scale and I think you're probably right!

You'd think they can't have built many of them for the film! :)
I didn't know there was a police box at Chatham, that's fun!

I keep meaning to visit - some of the TWINE boat chase was filmed there, too.

Wherever she comes, she manages to come more than once per year.

Is the sub-hotel expensive, or -- here it comes -- did you figure, "damn the rates - full speed ahead !"

Maybe someone will set up lodging to mimic being in the air bubble device buried in the snow as in TWINE ? Snug, yes, but charming...

I would full-on panic in that thing, just like Elektra!

Then I suppose adding, as an attraction, an underwater walk in the deep sea hard shell diving suit from FYEO would not be a fun idea ?

That, I think I'd like! (I wouldn't be nose to nose with Pierce, for one thing.)
