    Guardians of the Galaxy PS4

This is a surprisingly fun game that came out of nowhere. I actually prefer this cast to the cast of the movies. The gameplay is fun, the story is appealing and the graphics are great. I haven’t beat it yet but this is one that I feel I’ll beat soon because I have a hard time putting it down.

I finished Chernobyite. When I completed the story, I had only one outstanding trophy (not including the platinum), and it took only a few minutes to mop up that last one. A nice and easy one, fairly straightforward if anyone is looking for an easy platinum.

That's a day 1 purchase for me. Not only do I trust Rebellion that much, but I want to support them.

That's a good attitude to have! I love when a developer gets that level of optimism out of me. I used to be that way with several of them, but recent disappointments have me much more pessimistic in that regard (looking at you, Rockstar and CD Projekt RED).

    Ubisoft?

I like the Ghost Recon games (Wildlands and Breakpoint), but they are about to force the Ghost Recon brand over a barrel, just to cash-in on the Fortnite/Battle Royale craze. Not one person has asked for a battle royale Ghost Recon game, but Ubi are pressing on with $$$$$ signs in their eyes regardless, with crazed determination. I hear on the GR grapevine, that Ubi have been sending out invites to the closed beta of GR: Frontlines. The comments from the community have been hilarious. Still, while they alientate the GR fanbase, they'll pull in the Fortnite fans, right....? right...? It's going to be ftp, but I am not touching it, not even with a bargepole.

I don't know, maybe it's because Rebellion aren't AAA, more like AA, they aren't big enough to become complacent. Sniper Elite is their baby, their flagship series, and they have gradually, game-by-game, increased the scope of the games. I have faith that Rebellion aren't out to alienate it's fanbase.

I haven't liked Ubisoft at all since the Rainbow Six: Vegas days. Just about everything they put out now is filled with microtransactions, bugs, repetitive mechanics, mediocre graphics and bad storytelling. They've been on my naughty list for a long, long while now.

Hollow Knight and DKR: Tropical Freeze

Just got an oled Switch, but Tropical Freeze is actually on my Wii U. Love it.

Picked up Need for Speed Hot Pursuit Remastered off PSN for £6.99 and having a blast. The alternating racer v cop events keep things fresh and the game runs (on PS5) at a crisp 4k 60fps.

Next up are Horizon Forbidden West and GT7. I'd also like to pick up Far Cry 6 and Guardians of the Galaxy when they are sub £25.

My girlfriend's son got a few Mario Party titles for Christmas on the Switch, they're a lot of fun.

The Nintendo Switch library is insanely stacked with amazing games, and I doubt it’s even close to done - at least the concept itself, which would likely mean backwards compatibility. I just had an absolute blast over the past few weeks 100%ing Super Mario Odyssey, which is just an absolutely phenomenal experience.

Played through Odyssey when I had an original Switch (which I sold), and it was fantastic. I think my favourite Mario experience so far has been Galaxy 1 and 2 though, those games were brilliant IMO.

Looking forward to Legends of Arceus and Breath of the Wild 2. Also haven't tried Metroid Dread yet.

    Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon: Wildlands
According to my trophies, I originally began the game back in 2017, but never finished it. Several starts and stops later, I am on a new playthrough, and determined to not only finish the story, but also go for the platinum. The day before yesterday, I managed to get the two trickiest trophies; 'Cluster Bomber' (Killed 7 enemies with a single C4 blast) and 'A Better Mousetrap' (Killed 7 enemies with a single mine). The former was easy, got it on my 2nd attempt. The latter..... oof... that took me somewhere between 15 and 20 goes. I could have given up, but each time I was so close, killing 6/7. It was as if the game was goading me, or trolling me.

You've got this. If it makes you feel any better, I got the Platinum for Battlefield 4 a few months back, nabbing a trophy that eluded me for a long while, seven and a half years after I first played it.

It's satisfying to finally get those elusive trophies. Though I am not what I call a a big trophy hunter, especially looking at the ratio of games games on my trophy list, compared to the number of platinum medals that I have earned. But when you have put the time in, it's a relief to finally get that notification pop up.

I reckon I can get the Wildlands plat around Tuesday, going at my current speed. Maybe sooner if I put more time in. I still have a massive stack of games that I want to try. And some that I want to go back to, such as Horizon Zero Dawn. I have enjoyed Wildlands, but it's time to finish it, store it, and move on.

You're a better man than I, I didn't want to touch some of those GR titles because of anything multiplayer related (plus, they seemed insanely buggy in general).

My OCD set in about a year or so back and I tried to get as many missing ones as I could and pump my completion percentage as high as possible. I'm at an 86.18% completion rate now (though that'll go even higher once I finish San Andreas and FC6) but I haven't touched a game in weeks now. I kind of hit a wall and lost interest, moved on to films, but I'm hoping the upcoming release of Elden Ring changes that for me.

They're actually not... that buggy. I am trying to think of some bugs that I have encountered in them..... the running can sometimes look derpy in Breakpoint. By that, I mean... imagine how you would run down a hill, then when you get to level ground, you change how you run. Well, in Breakpoint, sometimes there is a delay in the change, so it looks goofy. That was something present in the beta, that I remember. Multiplayer is optional, but when it comes to Wildlands and Breakpoint, if you going to play multiplayer, then it's better to have a headset so you can communicate with other players in the squad. Not everyone does, but if you going to play a game that is a tactical squad based shooter, a headset helps greatly. Though I am playing Wildlands solo, just so that I can do the bare minimum in each region, doing only what I need to for the trophies, before moving on to the next region,

Elden Ring and Horizon Forbidden West are two incoming games that have my interest, and thankfully both are getting a PS4 release.

That's good, then. I guess that's my fault, having that assumption, because the last I saw of Wildlands was probably alpha or beta footage, and the launch gameplay looked like it needed some work (which I'm sure it's heartily received by now). I did try one of the newer GR titles through a free beta they had but I wasn't impressed in the slightest, sadly.

And same here, I'm looking forward to both. I might wait for a sale on the new Horizon but Elden Ring might be the first ever Souls-type game I pick up on day one. I got the Platinum for both the Demon's Souls PS5 edition and Bloodborne in the last year and a half so I'm eager for more.

I’ve had the rage to play all sorts of video games. I don’t know if it’s OCD, but there are times when that’s all I want to do. Is there something wrong with me? The only ones that I can’t play are sports. They’re boring. I just want to keep playing.

I have times where I'm like that and others, like now, where I can't be bothered to pick up a controller and play anything.

Last week, I predicted that I would get the platinum by tomorrow.... well, I got it this evening. 4+ years, and numerous stops and restarts. It was looking like it wouldn't happen, when the last trophy didn't unlock when it should have (not sure what happened), but it unlocked.

Couldn't help myself and bought Elden Ring on release day, the only title I plan on doing such with for the rest of the year. It's beyond perfection, wowing me in so many aspects, from its big changes from past titles to its minor details, like how fire spells aren't as strong in the rain whereas lightning spells are. It's probably the finest overall game I've played on the PS5, aside from Demon's Souls. Already sunk almost 15 hours into it and haven't even beaten the first main boss yet, that's how gigantic and endless it is. I love it.

Is the character creation as good as reports suggested? I am eyeing Elden Ring as an eventual purchase. Naturally, i'll play with an Archer build.

Lately I have been bouncing between a replay of Horizon: Zero Dawn and a first time playthrough of Subnautica: Below Zero. I am looking forward to finish this replay of HZD, so I can move onto Horizon: Forbidden West.
With Subnautica, even though the protagonist has more of a personality this time around, the game isn't as scary as the original. You never forget your first encounter with a Leviathan.

"Detecting multiple Leviathan class lifeforms in the region. Are you certain whatever you're doing is worth it?"

@MajorDSmythe, it is! I didn't go too in depth with it but you can make the wackiest nightmare in existence just as easily as you can craft a famous face out of it. It's very commendable and one of many highlights of the game. Do let me know your thoughts if you ever pick it up.

I plan on picking up Forbidden West as my next game, whenever I'm finished with Elden Ring and it's much cheaper.

Nearly 30 hours into Horizon Forbidden West and abosolutely loving it. The story is taking some pretty bonkers turns and I am totally on board with it.

Playing it on PS5 at 60fps mode and its both gorgeous and runs like a dream.

Will look to wrap up and get the (seemingly fairly straightforward) platinum trophy before moving onto Gran Turismo 7.

Seems an easy Platinum like the last one, with the DLC trophies being much tougher (i.e. the Ultra Hard trophy that will inevitably be added).

As I said before, I’ve been just wanting to play video games nonstop. Particularly on PS4. I don’t know if it’s OCD or the fact I’ve been working so much (4 jobs with varying hours). Is something wrong with me? I don’t know, but I’m happiest with James Bond and video games.
