Flipping once again… I believe this is where it’s going to settle permanently:

    CR
    SF

    QOS
    NTTD

    SP

If I did an “objective” ranking I would switch QOS and NTTD, but Quantum just holds a special place in my heart.

I shed a single tear for Spectre. I love it more, and more, and more as time goes on.

So many things go into a Bond film (and any film) for me; story, acting, cinematography, individual shots, style, music, fun, sartorie (I have yet to discover a good enough noun for "Sartorial"), locations, action, pacing, drama, stakes, over-the-top-ed-ness, silliness, grandiose-ness, chemistry... Spectre certainly has it's pitfalls and they are rough ones, but there isn't enough bad for me to write off all the great in Spectre.

Same. I see SP's flaws, as we all do, but I still love it for what it is.

Yes, SPECTRE gets a seriously bad rap around here! There are are far worse entries, and it has a lot of good stuff in it, and is very watchable!

It’s all opinion. I find it the worst entry, nothing stands out as enjoyable to me, and it’s a difficult watch. Doesn’t make it so, but that’s my experience.

I'll go a step further: SP is actually one of the worst films I've seen. Not in terms of production quality, but because I don't find anything I enjoy about it. I can't even pick out a single scene or moment I find interesting. Tried giving it a third watch earlier this year, but couldn't sit through it.

Now I need to find the time to watch NTTD for the first time, so I can put up a ranking as well!

The flaws in Spectre are in the action. Compare the car chase in Rome vs the car chase in Matera. They are literally night and day. Imagine the Rome chase having Hinx and multiple cars chasing Bond instead of just Hinx and ended up being an exposition dump with Moneypenny.

The action in Spectre is the worst in the Craig era and it reflects on screen. It's like all of the money and excitement went towards the PTS and a record breaking explosion at the crater base that didn't really do much.

There are great moments for me in Spectre, such as the attempted assassination of Lucia, the Spectre meeting, Mr.White and L'American. However, there isn't anything exciting to build around that.

Well I beg to differ regarding SP having the worst action in the Craig era. SF, for me ,certainly takes that accolade!! I do think the pts of SP is excellent, and the Hinx train fight is one of the best the series has staged! Am also fond of the plane sequence, and the car chase, though poor at the beginning, and ridiculous idea to interrupt it with Moneypenny phonecall, does get more exciting when the cars descend the steps to the river! And thats a helluva lot more than SF, whose only decent action is in the pts!

I like the fight with Patrice in Shanghai, despite how short lived it is.

I like to think there's a bit of symbolism in the fight too, as they're both shadows against the light, and at times very hard to tell them apart.

Comments like this always make me feel the need to shake my head, turn off the internet for awhile and go outside or something. Maybe watch a Bond film. ;)

    West Side Story. Ok.

Spectre is one I’m still warming to (and I am, gradually). The lack of many standout moments was always one of the biggest problems for me too, though there have always been scenes I’ve quite enjoyed: the tracking shot in the PTS, Moneypenny visiting Bond’s flat, Lucia’s attempted assassination, M speaking with C in the new Nine Eyes building, L’Americain, the train fight, the meteor room, the head drilling, the safe house. So quite a bit.

SF is not a Bond film I go to for action. The film’s strengths lie in the stunning cinematography and all the connecting tissues that some feel are lacking in SP. I don’t think action was Mendes’s forte. That said, I do think he did well enough to deliver the goods on that front in SF. While the action was by no means the biggest draw of the film, scenes like the bike chase and train action in the PTS, the Shanghai tower fight, the Komodo dragon pit fight, the tube chase, the enquiry shootout, and the assault on Skyfall served the film well not necessarily for being the biggest or best action sequences of all time but for being memorable, original, and well filmed.

    Sorry if you were offended!
I meant it was more like a dance scene then a fight sequence! Didnt think I'd need to explain!!

No offence whatsoever, just bewilderment. To me it didn't look like dancing, but to each his own.

That's sad. Why can't EON either just cast new Bonds all the time or KEEP the directors of the original successes????
