Homage to the Rolex 6542 worn by Pussy Galore in Goldfinger.

That detail underneath that says 'ocean 39 GMT' looks like the gun barrel white dot when it features the producers credits either side.

@QBranch You are right! I can't believe I never noticed that before!

Excellent! There are watches with a gun barrel dial, and now we have the white dot too!

I've had my Omega Seamaster Professional for nearly 2 decades now, I love that watch.

Have been off of here for a while, but my girlfriend got me the Q2 for christmas. Seems like I was jammering on about how I was talking to a few guys online about that watch, so she took the initiative. I like it a lot so far.

Rather pleased with this Pagani 'homage' to the Omega original. It's advertised on their website with a gunbarrel behind it, the cheeky blighters!
The £7800 for the Omega is a bit out of my price range, so i was impressed with the quality of the Pagani for £100 😁

I nabbed one of these too. Aside from the actual Omega being way out of my range, I like the way this is like a hybrid Bond watch between the Brosnan seamaster and the current one. The dial is Brosnan style after all, and it has the liquid metal ceramic bezel.(I also like that it has a date window, and doesn’t have the arrow or the helium escape valve.) I have modified mine slightly by luming the bezel markings, and picked up a mesh strap and a couple of Natos. (Sans 007 branding, naturally) Can dress it up or down or for comfort that way.

I think it’s the first time I have really wanted a Bond tribute watch, though various of my fathers friends and he himself all wore similar likely because of the influence of Connery bond when they were kids. Something about the colour palette on this and the Omega it’s homaging really appealed to me. If I win the lottery or land a big book deal I will get a ‘real’ one maybe. I do have a soft spot for titanium.

Ah wow, I’ve got one of those somewhere, had completely forgotten about it!
I think it's a cool-looking watch; a bit futuristic, like the Pulsar. I wish these kind of toys would make a comeback! Did you mail the crisp packets to get this one?

Got mine (and a couple of the empty crisp packets too). It stopped working very quickly as I recall.

I popped mine up on the other thread, but here’s another pic (well, set of pics) I am quite pleased with, taken of it.

    Edit:

I took the photos for a WatchCrunch post, and there’s more on this link:
(It’s a great place to sign up for if you like watches, and loads of people have shots of their watches… unsurprisingly there’s *plenty* of Omegas and Bond Watches.)

A shot I have titled ‘Skyfall’ that I took of my new dive-style watch (which is naturally because of my liking for Bond style watches) which I thought people might find fun.

You can see the edits of the shot here too:

    Speaking of Orient watches.

Restrapping the bambino with a steel bracelet makes for a very versatile and dandy yet inexpensive dress watch

I wrote a sort of post/article talking about Bond Nato straps worn by us non-spy folk today. It’s humourous, and might be interesting for when we dress up our divers:

I cannot get on with NATOs because of that bit of hardware which sits right on the vein running up the side of your wrist- it irritates mine something awful. Canvas conventional straps on the other hand are perfectly fine.

You can wear it differently to alleviate that (or possibly a notch looser) take a look on YouTube — there’s guides on the two or three different ways to wear one, and of course there’s Zulus too. It may also be the case that you need a longer strap, and to move the watch further down the strap before you put it on — the strap will curve down so you don’t need to worry about the keepers scratching the watch, and maybe it won’t be over that spot anymore. (I also find washing them makes them less stiff, and bathing in them will make it conform your own personal wrist more.)

I've tried all sorts of adjustment on them, can never get them to sit in a way which isn't uncomfortable. But thanks, maybe I'll have a look if I eve put one back on one :)
I don't massively like the way they make them sit so high anyway.

That was a great article! Made me laugh and made me learn. Can't do better than that.

I have a couple NATOs (GF and SP), but have never worn them. The most comfortable steel bracelet I ever wore was on the MR Seiko. I mean the one in the film, not the one that originally came with the watch. It was like I wasn't wearing it at all.

That is a great article. And has me asking why I don't have a NATO strap for my Swatch 2Q.

Can you change straps on a swatch?

    They're unique but yes.

My son got me a black band to replace the brown. And there are non-Swatch sources that offer them. I found a NATO style version.

This Bond-inspired homage seems to have just gone live and I think the brand name looks rather lovely on it:

UNIVEX - Universal Exports Watch Company
