    One last thing about Sallah and Marion: last time they didn’t say that she was coming back until Comic Con 2007. Could history repeat itself? I think so.

    You're probably right, since he took it by force. However, Indy had a point too, that it belongs in a museum, it originally belonged to Coronado and Panama Hat found it, and Indy sees its higher historical value as an artifact rather than with a price tag. And I guess if you're out in the middle of the ocean and can take it, and you're in a movie....

    The back story is, supposedly adult Indy tracked down Panama Hat to Portugal after getting a tip from a guy who worked for Panama Hat. Indy sneaks onto the ship and takes the cross from a safe. Panama Hat had struggled during the Depression and wanted to offload the cross for dough. A man said he'd buy it--he was suspected of being Walter Donovan--but said he'd only buy it if Indy was dead or killed. So on the ship, Indy is caught and realizes he was set up--as Admiral Ackbar said, it's a trap! And we know what happened after that.

    It does seem that the police are on Panama’s side in the young Indy bit -and we’ve no reason to think they’re wrong- and then in the Portugal bit the boat is actually called the Coronado, which would seem to imply that Panama Hat is the rightful owner!

    I can see a brief appearance where Marion pleads with Indy not to go ; she tells him all the reasons that he shouldn’t go, he tells her , “ have no choice “ .

    Quite a few people aren’t happy with it.

    That’s an entirely different matter, because James Dean is actually dead and has no say in his performance. Ford is at least an active participant in the de-aging process.

    I’d prefer something more concrete, especially since he’s notably done plenty of movies NOT set in the 1960s.

    I know what you mean; it's not concrete (and it's even possible it may have changed in the intervening five months) but it would seem to point quite heavily to the 60s.

    Come on! That's like saying every Bond film is a remake of Dr No.

    You may think it's a bit silly (I do too, to a degree) but there is no denying that it truly is a common comment/criticism about LC and KOTCS that they are remakes of Raiders - particularly LC. I think "remake" is a very strong word but they do follow similar structures, but hey, I don't care. Raiders is objectively the "best" of the series but Last Crusade is, IMO, the most fun, and it's my personal favorite.

    He does look good in that last one, doesn't he? I'm a bit more sold now. I think the jacket is nicer than the Crystal Skull one too.

    Ford looks great and as long as they won't try to make Indy do crazy stunts like the hangar scene of Indy 4, his age won't be an issue.

    So cool to see Ford on set as Indy again. For a long time I assumed this movie would be stuck in development hell so it’s amazing to see the gears beginning to roll.
