I don't think she's worthy of that final spot, unofficial installment or not. I quite enjoy her character and it's tough not to admire Ursula in general. Hell, then again, I do seem to like CR'67 more than others so perhaps that's it. She doesn't come close to my bottom ranked girl, though, regardless.

I agree. Personally, I'd take anything in CR67 over dialogue like 'Your momma' or 'Blow up your pants!'. Even more so since Ursula is definitely one of the better aspects of CR67. But the majority has spoken ;)

Sorry guys, but non-EON material gets sent directly to jail (bottom finish!)

I wondered since a few hours why you all talked about Vesper 67. I somehow missed goldengun's first reveal, maybe because I posted at around the same time...
Ursula should definitely be ranked higher in whatever movie she appeared in the 60s.

I had Ursula Andress (Vesper Lynd) in last place more as a function of her limited role in the context of Casino Royale ’67, as opposed to the actress herself.

Vesper Lynd: But, I thought you were retired, Sir James?
Sir James: The whole world believes that you were eaten by a shark, Miss Lynd.
Vesper Lynd: That was no shark. That was my personal submarine. But enough of this polite conversation. What is the purpose of your visit?

As for the film, I actually watch it from time to time – usually as part of a double feature with “What’s New Pussycat” (1965), which was also produced by Charles K. Feldman (and stars several of the same people (i.e., Peter Sellers, Woody Allen and Ms. Andress). While the jokes are “hit or miss”, the set design is very good. As is the Burt Bacharach score. In addition, any movie with Joanna Pettet, Barbara Bouchet, Daliah Lavi, Tracy Reed and Jacqueline “Miss Goodthighs” Bisset “can’t be all bad!!!! (*)

‘(*) TSWLM’s Caroline Munro was also in CR67 but uncredited.

Could have been a 1970’s Bond Girl contender IMO.

I definitely agree with you @Dwayne about the Bond girl lineup of CR67.

Now on to our next reveal, which is also the bottom EON finish.

    HALLE BERRY
    as Jinx
    in DIE ANOTHER DAY

    2002-die_another_day-5.jpg

Jinx appeared to have done her name justice by ending up last on 5 occasions. Eleven more bottom 5's were noted, of which 5 were second to last.

Her highest finish was 11th, on a single occasion. She ended up in two more top 15's.

In total Jinx received 66 points.

Not unexpected, this. Halle is a fine actress and a good-looking woman, but totally wasted as Jinx in DAD. She is just another agent, Bond's "equal" and hot. Nothing new there. But she gets almost nothing to do apart from being that partner you drag along in video games while you still do most of the work. When she does do stuff by herself, like fighting Frost, I'm watching a scene from D.O.A., including the dreadful puns. The material she had to work with sucked, but her acting is deplorabele on top of that. "Read THIS, bitch!" I ordered a Bond flick, fellas, not an episode of It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia, although the latter would have been better.

Halle got unlucky. She could've been dealt some amazing Bond Girl cards, but they essentially paved the way for her catnip scene in Catwoman. When Halle works, she rocks; when she doesn't, it's down the sewer right away. By her own fault and that of others, DAD is like staining her resumé with dog crap.

Pretty low for me, but there are several below her. I put Tiffany Case here.

I've got Christmas Jones below Jinx, but only by one place. I don't care how attractive some of these lovelies are, if the character is poorly written, or miscast then the part isn't interesting. Believable chemistry with the leading man also helps. Sadly I think Jinx biggest downfall is the terrible dialogue she sprouts. And perhaps we're just tired of the Bond girl who is Bond's equal routine, that we've had on and off since TSWLM.

2 out of 2! Alas I had to put the divine Ursula last. No matter how charming her performance is, it's an insult to one of Fleming's most diverting characters.

And, of course, poor old Halle went next kind of by default. This isn't a cliched superhero movie Halle.

No surprise there, honestly. I didn't have her in dead last, or even in second to last place, but this makes sense.

Basinger's Domino went to this spot for me.

Can't fault you there. Unofficial installment or not, she's easily one of the worst.

Saddled with awful dialogue, I still find Jinx less irritating than the likes of Stacey Sutton, Mary Goodnight, and Tiffany Case. The fact that she had a halfway decent catfight with Miranda Frost elevates her further.

I had her at #21, though I'm not surprised that she was the first of the official Bond girls to appear.

She's very attractive all right, but there is no denying her character is written appallingly. Her oneliners in particular are an assault on good taste. Too bad, I think she deserved better material to work with, but as it stands she ended up second to last in my ranking.

I had her at 24 because I find two other Bond girls even worse.

Perhaps an argument could be made for how Domino was written. But I still think Basinger's acting in the role left something to be desired, despite her attractive figure. I watched Batman recently and she was much better in that (five years after NSNA). Also better in The Natural, which came out only a year after NSNA, and she had less screen time in The Natural.

Moving onwards with our next, slightly surprising, reveal:

    BRITT EKLAND
    as Mary Goodnight
in THE MAN WITH THE GOLDEN GUN

    james-bond-007-the-man-with-the-golden-gun-lobby-card-uk-1974-1.jpg

I know she's not the best-liked Bond girl of the franchise, but I did not expect her to end up this low either.

However, 15 members ranked her outside their top 20, out of which two of them rated her dead last.

On a more positive note, she did collect a bronze medal, one 4th and one 7th place. Mary is the lowest ranked Bond girl to end up in someone's top 3, top 5 or top 10.

In total Mary Goodnight obtained 76 points.

I like her more than most do, but she is not a convincing MI6 agent.

Whoa, we have some serious fans here! Mary Goodnight certainly is special for many of us, including me (although she still is outside my top 20).

Ekland looks good but the role is wasted on me. (This is why I wanted this game to go dual: we rank the girls by their charm and then we rank the role. Now we have to somehow figure out a strange blend of both.) The problem is that Mary Goodnight comes off as a schoolgirl who is dropped in the field in some TLC reality show kind of thing. Give me Ekland in The Wicker Man any day. But in TMWTGG, she walks in the shadow of Andrea Anders / Maud Adams.

I agree that she's not convincing but she hasn't bothered me in years past the way she used to. She's not a top Bond girl for me, by any stretch, but certainly not the worst.

@Thunderfinger, you must be a fan, indeed.

She is just plain fun, much more so than any other Bond girl in the whole series. And very charming.

Goodnight's arse is the only real danger for Bond in this movie... that's already a good reason to rank her very low.

She's definitely not used very well. That being said, Britt gives a very charming performance nonetheless.

Mary and Stacey are two of a kind, might not be the most competent ones in a dangerous situation, but both are very likeable.

That alone keeps them away from my bottom 5. I had Mary at #19, could have been #16 as well really. I certainly like her quite a bit.

I have a soft spot for Sutton, mainly because I'm so in love with AVTAK, but she's certainly one of the more annoying Bond girls at times, particularly during the city hall escape.

Or high. Depending on your view of her bottom, naturally.

Today we say goodbye to the our final Non-EON Bond girl:

    KIM BASINGER
    as Domino Petachi
    in NEVER SAY NEVER AGAIN

    MV5BMzYwNTAzOGItYWI5YS00NGYzLWJiYzUtZDZhY2IwZGJhYjZlXkEyXkFqcGdeQXVyMjUyNDk2ODc@._V1_SY1000_CR0012691000_AL_.jpg

Domino Version 2's best ratings were one 8th and two 9th places. Two more top 15's were not enough to keep her out of the bottom 5.

Only one member put her at the bottom, though twelve more members ranked her lower than 20th.

In total, Domino Petachi ended up with 82 points.

I have Domino Petachi at 14th, whilst Goodnight ranks 23rd. Always like how our feelings toward the Bond movies, and the characters can vary vastly. But we still all enjoy the same series of films. The joys of being a Bond fan.
