A powerful message. It explains why his first 2 movies with Spider-Man are so great (second is better than the first, in my opinion)!

Spider Man 2 probably remains the best superhero movie made so far for my money.

If find that movie somewhat overrated. It's a good film though, don't get me wrong.

I could easily name some other superhero movies I think are overrated... there was one quite recently.. ;)

I prefer Raimi's first Spiderman movie mainly down to Defoe. The second one is good, the extended version of the train battle is superb.

Neither films get into my top five greatest superhero films.

It's juts more pure emotion and heart than most of them, for me. As you say, the train fight is superb and the conclusion hits an emotional resonance that I can't think of any other superhero film quite hitting since.

One of the things that drags the Spiderman Trilogy down for me is Kirsten Dunst portrail of Mary Jane, I find the character intolerable (being kind).

Okay, I don't quite see that. I like how she's really integral to the whole thing- even the Superman films sidelined Lois way too much I think (and again in the most recent ones where her role was pretty much just 'be sad'). In Raimi's Spider-Man films she's pretty much as important as Peter is and motivates much of his actions.

I agree, I think she is one of the worst love interests in the history of love interests. She’s mean, selfish, a whore who flip flops with everyone, the list is endless! She’s the Grandpa Joe of love interests! Dafoe made a great villain, but Molina made a great one that was also sympathetic. Which would influence the great PS4 game it would seem. And the second Spider-Man I liked because it could be goofy, without going too overboard unlike the MCU at large.

I am not disputing the characters importance, the characterisation itself is well... obnoxious.

Dunst's Mary Jane is incredibly self centered and unlikeable.

She was always seeing other guys when she was mad at Peter. Attention whore.

    Attention whore.

Makes a tiny bit of sense. She is an actress.

Still, I'd say Dunst's Mary Jane is probably the worst love interest after the replacement Lois Lane in Superman Returns.

I'd take Dunst over Maggie Gyllenhaal's Rachel Dawes in The Dark Knight, though only just; both incredibly irritating to the point where I do not understand why the protagonists see anything in them (Emma Stone's Gwen Stacy leaves Dunst's MJ for dust in every department, really). Bosworth's Lois Lane is a good shout, too.

Though we do have plenty of strong ones, thankfully - Margot Kidder's Lois, Hayley Atwell's Peggy Carter, Paltrow's Pepper Potts etc.

Emma Stone was great as Gwen one of the best things in both Amazing Spiderman films.

Penelope Ann Miller in The Shadow is another I like.

The Falcon and Winter Soldier episode 3, the weakest episode so far despite those involved. There was blatant fan service in some of the dialogue that undermined the tone established in the first two episodes.

I’m happy, one of the best supervillain performances in movies.

That's great the casting of Molina has made me more interested in the film for sure.

Up to now the two Tom Holland films for me have been forgettable (Michael Keaton the highlight of either movie), I tend to rewatch the other Spiderman films and don't bother with Holland's.

    ---

The Falcon and Winter Soldier episodes 4 and 5 are a mixed bag and feels a little unfocused now, the show has been ok its unlikely I will ever watch it again when its finished. It is littered with Easter eggs certainly in ep 5, and some big Marvel characters show up though I just don't care.

The Disney+ shows on recent evidence offer little and I don't think missing them will impact on the movies.

The two shows are making a case for me that comic book adaptations are a much better fit for streaming than movies. With movies there’s no “status quo” like in comics because EVERY film seems obligated to be a major event for the characters rather than just another day being a hero like in the comics. I think they tried with Spider-Man but that was always relegated to montages, even pre-MCU.

The recent ep of Falcon/Winter is a pretty good example of just allowing the characters to have a breather after an intense opening. In a movie, this would have probably lasted five minutes, ten at max. I’m glad this series exists because now I feel ready to see Sam as the new Cap in a way I didn’t at the very end of ENDGAME. It also makes him and Bucky feel like fully rounded characters for the first time, when they were really just side characters in the movies loaded with bigger names than them.

Bummed that next week will be the last.

That’s fun, I hadn’t been sure if all that ‘old actors returning’ stuff was made up or not.

It looks like your stereotypical Marvel Studios film. I’m sure their lowbrow humor will be all over the movie. I’ll still give it a chance, which is more than I can say about Black Widow, which I can see for free, but don’t plan to. At least these characters show facial expressions, unlike Scarlett Johansson.

Hmm..., I'm a fan of Black Widow, Scarlett Johansson and MCU so I'll watch her movie (hopefully in cinema).

I don't know what to say about Shang-Chi but I want to be optimistic. Few years ago I had the same problem with Ant-man movie and now I very, very like it.

The Falcon and Winter Soldier episode 6, decent finale with some strong messages and good action. There are a lot of sub plots I really don't care much for though I suspect its just set up for other shows. Overall the series was muddled and personally I rather watch Agents of Shield.

I thought the CA trilogy was just fine as it was.
