Characters from other franchises who could be Bond villains

This may generate some interesting discussion. Characters can either be seen as substitutes for the villains in the movies or for inclusion in new original adventures.

Here's a fantasy I've had for starters. While I don't watch the Japanese anime Black Lagoon because I don't like the foul language, I am intrigued by the character of the sadistic, brutal woman known as Revy. I imagine her in TLD and LTK as a perfect female substitute for Necros and Dario respectively. In my mind I can see Revy in the role of Franz Sanchez' right-hand woman in all the scenes. Her idea of a perfect honeymoon for Leiter's wife would likely involve slow torture inflicted by her as well as implied rape by Sanchez' male workers. Her demise in the shredder is a satifying vision of the end of such a terrible woman.

As for replacing Necros, she would probably be much more sadistic then the canonical portrayal. Imagine Dario as TLD's henchman and you get an idea of my point. I'd probably not listen any more than Bond did while Revy begs for her life hanging out of the plane helplessly watching Bond slowly cut the laces of the boot she's grasping.

What do you think of this thread idea?

Obadiah Stane from Iron Man (2008). Keeping Jeff Bridges in the role would be a added bonus. The Dude makes everything better! I'll keep thinking!

Phillip Seymour Hoffman, I'd have loved him as a Bond baddie.
His character in MI3 was a proper nasty bastard, really well played, if it was written as well in a Bond film he'd have been a classic.
  • Dr. Mabuse and his followers, adapted for the screen by Fritz Lang, would have been great Bond villains. A master of disguise known to employ body transference, sometimes utilizing technologies to build a society of crime. He is the head of a network of agents enacting his schemes. In The Thousand Eyes of Dr. Mabuse, Lang's third entry in the series, a disciple of Mabuse controls a hotel which has been outfitted by the Nazis during World War II to spy on people in every room.

    That's a great shout @Herr_Stockmann!

For me personally, while I know people would be against Lawrence in a James Bond film, the character I'd love to see in the world of our favourite secret agent is Dominika Egorova from Red Sparrow. Originally a novel written by Jason Matthews, Dominika is a former Russian ballerina who is forced by her uncle to undergo espionage training for the Russian government at the Sparrow School, where people are trained to seduce their targets.

Hans Gruber (Die Hard), played by Alan Rickman. Methodical, sophisticated, cunning, and at times charmingly charismatic. Hands down one of cinema’s most iconic villains that could’ve made an excellent Bond baddie.

A kind of plot like this could be a great mix between FRWL and OHMSS.

Almost any Quentin Tarantino villain character. Namely, Any Reservoir Dog, half of the Pulp Fiction, Jackie Brown cast, and above all Daisy Domergue.

Manfred Powell (Lara Croft: Tomb Raider) played by the great Iain Glen, I always thought this character would have been spot on as a Pierce Brosnan era villain.

Well, he did manage to kill Daniel Craig, so I'd say he could hold his own against Brosnan's Bond. Apart from the flying monkeys, that first Tomb Raider had quite a few ideas and action sequences that would have felt at home in a Bond film.

He looks like a Sean Bean - Guy Pearce mashup. I like it. :-bd

Iain Glen nailed the Narcissistic Megalomaniac persona, he had some decent dialog in Lara Croft: Tomb Raider, the line 'my ignorance amuses me' is very Bond like. The first film had some good stuff in it.

Yeah, Iain Glen really elevated that film. He was really having fun and it was obvious.

Agreed. His Owen Davian character was such a sadistic SOB and could go from calm to terrifying in seconds. I’d also add Solomon Lane from Rogue Nation. Similar to Davian, but more ruthless and intelligent while motivated by his desire to shape the world via acts of terrorism. Sean Harris’s raspy voice would chill even Bond’s blood.

Ooo forgot about this page. I'm just going to throw this into the ring. Nathan (Oscar Isaac) from Ex Machina. I don't wanna go too much into his character in case no-ones seen the film, but if you know you know.

While not exactly a franchise, Hitchcock specialized in espionage-related, "innocent man on the run" movies reaching their peak (pun intended) with North By Northwest, a clear model for cinematic Bond.

And James Mason in that movie is the paradigmatic Bond villain, ingenious, wealthy, witty, super-sophisticated, foreign accent [in the context of Hollywood], a devious, pretty girlfriend who falls for the hero, and he even lives in a Ken Adam style, ultra-sleek modernist lair that the hero must enter surreptitiously to save the girl.

Now that was a missed opportunity, not to cast James Mason as a Bond villain.
I believe he was under serious consideration for Hugo Drax in MR?
Whilst it's hard to imagine anyone being as great as Michael Lonsdale in the role, one wonders what an actor such as James Mason could've given us.

The Italian Job (2003) and Sahara (2005) are uncredit written by Neal Pervis & Robert wade. You can see inspiration from Twine. When you watched Spectre with Car chase and villian lair possible get a bit of that vibe. And Oberhouser feels like villian from Sahara. Scene in Batman begins, Raoul scene in DAD and chacter in Mi4 looks very much think about Sahara.

    Screams DAD and CR.

There also be creaters of Johnny English where you can see same humor from Twine.. 3th movie refer to Goldeneye PTS.

I also have seen honest trailer about Spectre that claim the movie is very similar to Captain America 2 and startrek movie.

    Spectre-1339.jpg

Waltz look like very much on Lambert Wilson. chacter name of Lambert in Saraha is Yves Massarde can have been Bond villian in Twine and Spectre. And mabey even in CR and DAD.
