Lynch looks great though. Not usually keen on the “Bond’s equal” Bond girls, because they’re usually just generic action heroes who inevitably still turn into damsels in distress. But this time it actually seems like we’re getting one who’s almost as suave and cool as Bond. I love how they’ve given her all the trappings (suits, Aston), she’s not just a bird in a catsuit with a gun like past “equals” have been. I think it’ll be a really fun dynamic.

Yeah agreed. I know we can't have a spin off and it wouldn't really work (there's no point in having a character in Bond's world without Bond), but she's looking so supercool in this I think I probably would be interested in her having her own movie or series. Obviously it depends if she works well onscreen of course, but from what we've seen I can kind of imagine her becoming a bit of a style icon.

Nice find @Contraband, love that shot of Madeleine. Glad to see she gets involved in the action, and they've kept the capabilities she has that they set up in Spectre :)

    +1

I really love this outfit she wears for the Norway sequence and Safin's lair.

Interesting to note that she is wearing her final costume set of the brown shirt and white pants, even at such an 'early' stage of the film.

I wonder if this means her and Bond manage to go through the wilderness together for a short period before she is taken to the lair - or that she is taken to the lair later? Lots of questions here.

    Also note that
we get a new scene number 203 as well, with Safin present.

    unknown.png

Scene 201 was where Bond spots a hiding place, with notes on Mathilde being present. Safin comes in almost immediately after. Is this where we see Safin take her away - or even reveal that it was Madeleine who lead Safin to them? Interesting, interesting, lots of new questions to tide us over this 6 month wait.

Still don't know the deal with the wind tunnel - we've seen M in it but still dont know where it is or how it fits into the story.

Walking through Qs lab early in the film? I thought I heard that the Valhalla wasn't featured much. Those shots are amazing @Contraband

This does make me more than a little nervous about the Dr No thing.
This character is Eve, she's not Moneypenny. Oh wait!
He's Oberhouser, not Blofeld. Oh I see!
Nomi is a 00, not 007. Yeah right!
    Safin is not Dr No...

Agreed, except I’d be so into Safin being Dr. No. Controversial opinion?

Not at all. This needs to be stopped when the next Bond starts bringing back old characters. That’s a given at this point.

Looks like the Harper's Bazaar thing is spreading:

    https://www.radiotimes.com/news/film/2020-11-04/lashana-lynch-bond-007-no-time-to-die-news/
No Time to Die’s Lashana Lynch confirms her character will replace James Bond as 007

Slightly inflammatory headline, but technically correct I guess! :) They also don't pull a quote where she actually does confirm it though.

As excited as I am for the film, and as interesting a plot device as it is, I’m dreading the clickbait articles and usual culture war arguing that will follow.

Remember, no matter what happens, “James Bond will return”. Even if this does give the character a proper ending, and has Nomi replace him, they’re not going to stop making Bond films. EON aren’t thick, they know what they’re doing. They’ll just reboot with a new actor next time round.

Interesting that Malek doesn’t deny he’s playing Dr No either. Personally, I hope that’s not true. I think bringing back Fleming’s recurring characters is fine, but rebooting one offs sets a dangerous prescedent (if it was successful then what’s to stop them going for a full remake of one of the 60s classics?).

The Craig films have already set themselves apart as their own thing, an alternate take on the old legend. So, I suppose with that in mind I’d be okay with it, as a one off. But I hope it doesn’t lead to them thinking “lets remake Goldfinger” or anything like that.

They probably will bring back Goldfinger at some point in the future. They did in the Dynamite Comics, and Richard Maibaum wanted to several times (OHMSS, DAF, OP). The average American politician is a real life Bond villain. There’s material bagging for Goldfinger to come back.

Wow I never thought I'd see a reference to 007 Everything or Nothing in a Bond movie.

Does someone know the original source of this pics? The new book about Bond cars maybe?

I think it's a bit of shame that the stuff in the books gets distributed, but I guess it's inevitable.

One thing is that I thought the Land Rover flip in the trailer looked a bit CG, but that BTS photo shows I was wrong.

I thought it was the log that looked CG. The one the vehicle flipped over. The lighting on it didn't quite match. IMO.

My guess is they filmed a pass with Craig in the foreground and then reset and then shot it with the SUV flipping and then comped the two passes together. The sun position may have shifted between the takes which would throw the shadows off a bit.

Something about its movement seemed too perfect and suggested it to me, but I guess I was mistaken. Maybe its final slide when it’s on its roof actually is CG, I don’t know.

From some of the cinematography so far for some reason makes certain things look cgi that might not be like the plane scene in cuba or like it's heavily retouched and then in others it's overpoweringly blue and a bit cold, now obviously that's only trailers so we'll see.

    Hi Phantomvices,

My question is in the spoiler block.
we get a new scene number 203 as well, with Safin present.

Question: How do you know about scene 201 and these notes?
