What are the very worst Bond Film Deaths?

What do you think are some of the very worst ways characters, whether good or evil have perished in the movies? Here are a few examples.

Dario in Licence To Kill. I can only barely imagine the intense agony coupled with the fear of knowing once the shredder reaches past your legs, you're dead.

Mr Kidd ftom Diamonds Are Forever, Burning to death. Says it all. Same as Dario's boss Sanchez.

Fekkesh and Max Kalba from The Spy Who Loved Me. Terrifying to behold a giant steel-toothed man just before he severs your jugular.

Bond himself in Diamonds Are Forever. Of course, Bond is saved at the last minute. But just being locked in a coffin facing the prospect of either being buried or cremated alive. Sounds more horrific than anybody could describe.

Alec Trevelyan in GoldenEye - Being dropped several hundred feet from the antenna down to the very bottom of the dish, breaking your spine (and leg) and then looking up to see your own instrument of destruction collapse and crush you is no way to go.

Elliott Carver in Tomorrow Never Dies - Imagine having a giant torpedo-shaped drill outfitted with three shredders advancing on you and reducing you into a puddle of blood and guts.

Tough to argue with Dario. Krest's in LTK is pretty brutal too.

The KGB agent in AVTAK who gets fed into the propeller.

Kananga's looked ridiculous, but on paper is absolutely horrific.

Helga Brandt being stripped to the bone by Blofield's piranha fish must be right up there in terms of gruesomeness.

Some of these, while no doubt brutal, are still quick at least. Vijay's suffering, implied by Q saying he was still alive when he found him, is a particularly dark point in OP.

We don't know Whispers fate, but if he never got out of that cannisters...

Stromberg's assistant being eaten alive by the shark and then the shark getting it from Jaws!

Dario and Krest take the cake for me. Truly horrid ways to come to one's end.

Kananga said the cannisters were air-tight, so the worst case scenario means Whisper probably would have suffocated long before dying of starvation.

Dario was the first that came to mind, but I would say that Sanchez being burnt alive is the most painful death of all, and not a swift one.

Sanchez and Mr. Kidd both score equal points for death by burning. Kidd at least had water to jump in. Though we never find out if he survives or not. In any case it's possible Kidd likely would have drowned in the ocean. Sanchez on the other hand had to just burn and burn helplessly.

Lupe's lover had to have a pretty brutal ending "give her his heart" followed by off camera screaming.

Both are grisly in their own right.

Very true, @MooseWithFleas. Also, Barry emphasises the sadness with his score.

    Dr No.
    Goldfinger
    Brandt
    Kananga
    Sanchez
    Dario
    Carver
    Greene

are all bad ones. Some of the drownings/dying underwater and shark attacks in Thunderball aren't a walk in the park either.

Quarrel, the SPECTRE agent who had lots of guts in OHMSS, Corinne (MR) and Della Leiter all come to mind.

There are many more, especially if we start diving into minor characters, all ranging from being blown up to falling from great heights and everything in between. I don't think I want to spend any more time thinking about it right now, though!

Stuck in a sunken plane, getting your air hose sliced, while silently trying to beg for mercy-that one was troubling.

You've just made it doubly upsetting with your description. I suppose he deserved it...

Then there's getting thrown into a coffin full of venomous snakes. Nasty albeit relatively quick.

Even if Baron Samedi can never truly die, it couldn't have been an enjoyable experience for him.

Krest is hard to top. Killifer comes close, though. Or Dario.

    It's all basically LTK.

The only two moments in Bond where I cover my eyes:
    1. Krest
    2. The guy in OHMSS who goes into the snow blower

I have no idea why the second one squicks me out so much, but it does!

Krest and Dario are definitely up there.

Kananga too, but that's the "worst" in a different sort of way. ;)

Kananga is suspension of belief. He bursts, but there's no blood, organs or bones flying everywhere.

All three have plenty of time compared to some, to think about the end. With no way to change their fate. Not as gruesome as some, but certainly horrible way to go.

The thug that became a komodo snack on the floating casino in skyfall. Atleast it sounded painful!
