I hope EON knows that the bad sales of Blood Stone and 007 Legends have a lot to do with its release date. I know they were trying to get 007 Legends out in time for Skyfall, but the release those games in the busy October/November holiday game season (I believe 007 Legends was released the same week as Halo 4). Blood Stone releasing the same day as Goldeneye Wii was fine but releasing it the week before Call of Duty? I mean, come on now, that was obvious at the time how much that would backfire. And that's even crazier because Activision owned both franchises!

A high profile Bond game in the vein of Spider-Man ps4, Batman Arkham, or Fallen Order would be the best way to resurrect the series. Anything less and gamers won't care. But a big budget return to form game, that would get even the casual audience's attention

How do you guys feel about "Blood and Truth" as well as "I Expect You to Die", which are very much Bondian styled adventures?

I’m telling you, Naughty Dog would make a hell of a Bond game. Play Uncharted 4 or Last Of Us and tell me they don’t make some of the strongest narratives/action sequences in video games.

the problem i have with Naughty Dog is the same i have with Rockstar.. they are perfectionists.. and while i admire the fact that they never release a game until they feel it's 120% of what they want it to be - it usually takes them YEARS to push games out.... call me impatient, but i dont wanna wait 5 - 8 years between Bond games.. The Last Of Us was released during the final year of PS3's life cycle, and the sequel is only now coming out in the final year of the PS4 lifecycle - thats 7 years, way too long... i'm not saying i would be happy with subpar efforts just to get more games - but there has to be a middle ground.

In all fairness, Naughty Dog haven't been working on TLOU2 for seven years. They only got into preproduction after UC4. They had some members work on Uncharted: Lost Legacy as well.

    Since TLOU they have released...
    Left Behind (DLC)
    TLOU Remastered (developed in-house)
    Uncharted 4: A Thief's End
    Uncharted: The Lost Legacy

Speaking of Naughty Dog, a good friend of mine who likes doing 3D renders got Nathan Drake's tuxedo model from the game. Along with the Everything or Nothing Bond model, a little bit of photoshop magic and a lot of elbow grease. He was able to created the definitive Pierce Brosnan 3D model.

Nice, though Bonds wrinked shirt is a little distracting.
  • I believe the same individual who made that image made these 2 as well:

Has anyone played Goldfinger 64? if so how is it from the videos on youtube it looks like fun...

Also If that same team were to do a different film which one would you want to see made next into the 64 realm

Personally The Living Daylights 64 would be cool

I've always wanted to see Tomorrow Never Dies get the GE/TWINE 64 treatment. But if I was going to pick something a bit older it would probably be The Spy Who Loved Me.

All of them for N64 for me. TWINE N64 is better than the movie!

Disagree on TWINE (N64) being better than the film, but I can safely say the game is better than Goldeneye (N64), It's a shame that it's stuck in GE's shadow.

Well it seems that Activision have taken down the servers for all of their Bond games: https://support.activision.com/articles/legacy-activision-games

This is especially sad as Goldeneye Wii had a significant multiplayer community to this day. Fortunately, some modders have already set up their own server and hacked a way for anyone to play on it; https://www.tapatalk.com/groups/gewiihacks/play-goldeneye-online-no-homebrew-method-t240.html

I’m told the community is still very active and I’ll be downloading this mod shortly.

Update: This hack was super easy to perform and I'm now back online for Goldeneye Wii multiplayer.

I know it has been mentioned before, but I've been playing loads of the two newest Hitman games during the pandemic and I would love for a Bond game to adopt that style. I've always loved the Hitman series and the freedom you are given reminds me of what GoldenEye felt like back in the day - having some set objectives (or targets) and then completing them in any order you wish and using whatever method you'd like. Total freedom and gets you thinking like a spy.

They've gone for more of a globetrotting adventure in the two newest games too, so with the added spy elements it really does feel like playing a Bond film at times. IO Interactive even said that both Bond (Casino Royale in particular) and Mission: Impossible were influences on the tone of the new games. It shows.

Has anyone seen this possible fun game? It would be fun to play as Sir Roger Moore.

if I could figure out how to get the Goldeney Emulator to work I would easily build Licence to kill 64 and one for the craig era maybe Spectre...

I also could never get Goldfinger 64 to work so at the very least I will watch someone else play this game

i wonder if sadly the future of bond gaming will be (insert bond title here) 64

And If I could I would do The Hildebrand Rarity 64 a new bond adventure for n64 with Craig as 007 ;)

looks like the character model is available

    Sad, but no real surprise.

At least we'll get effectively a spiritual successor out of it.

Really, why did these developers ever use anything connected to the Bond IP? No License, then no Bond. It's as easy as that. I wish them well with their new original take on the world of spies.

It always irritates me when a company pulls something like this, because they don’t have to. They’re just choosing to be a-holes. This was a harmless, free, fan project based on a 25 year old game that has been out of publication for nearly two decades. The developers weren’t going to make any money off of it. And we know that EON/MGN aren’t making any money off the Bond gaming license at the moment. This wouldn’t have competed against any of their Bond games, because they don’t make those anymore. There’s companies like SEGA that gladly allow fan games like Sonic: Utopia because they realize that it doesn’t hurt their ip at all to allow fans to be fans. SEGA even went so far as to hire fan developers to help them make a new official Sonic game, Sonic: Mania. Meanwhile MGM/Danjaq are over here gleefully taking a massive dump on their fans.

    BREAKING

I did some snooping around in the US Trademark database, and came across this:

On August 6, Danjaq filed a trademark application for the word GoldenEye to be used for "Entertainment software, namely, electronic game software for use on mobile or cellular telephones whether handheld or freestanding and other electronic mobile and/or wireless devices such as tablets and digital personal assistants" and "Entertainment services, namely, providing online electronic games via a global computer network, mobile or cellular telephones and/or other wireless devices; electronic game services provided by means of the internet; providing interactive online electronic games via the internet and electronic communication networks"

    Ejal9kfXgAAmurE.jpg

This may (and I say may) be pointing to some form of mobile game that is in development by EON, using the GoldenEye licence.

Alternatively, it might also be a way of preventing people like you and me to make a GoldenEye game, like what happened on the GoldenEye 25 project. The dates check out, as this was filed a few days before the GE 25 team announced development would be ceased.

Interesting. I’d hope it’s for a new game, but it probably is just Danjaq making sure they can continue to stomp on any fan attempts to make games. Can’t have fans producing for free what Danjaq refuses to make apparently.
  • Sadly, it's almost certainly just legal maneuvering and not any glimpse of a new game. It pains me to say it, but I think Bond gaming is dead, at least until a whole new generation restarts things.

It would be all too easy to get hopeful that this finally means we are getting a proper remaster of GoldenEye 64, but I lean on it being most definitely related to the shutting down of GoldenEye 25.
